They sent me an email directly with the new date! Instructing on what to do in regards to missing documents/expired but not to change. I basically yelled YES to confirm the new date haha 

Id like to chime in that Ive also just got the email for reschedule on Oct 19, 2020 as well! Was previously on March 18th.

When they moved and had to cancel interviews, they contacted those with cancelled interviews with a list of dates and told them to pick one. This choice was limited only to those that had their interviews cancelled, and not to everyone that was waiting. My prediction, which was specifically for if we have to reschedule our own interviews (it is equally as likely that they will reschedule them for us), was a hybrid of how they handled that situation and their normal process for rescheduling missed interviews (through AIS). And right now, a prediction based on how they've handled missed/cancelled interviews in the past is as good as we're going to get. 

If you can provide data to back up that they will completely abandon their normal rescheduling processes as a result of this, I'd love to see it. 

I didnt offer a scenario because I dont know one. I only pointed out that assuming something would happen does mean it will. I agreed that your option would make sense. That doesnt mean you are correct in saying it will happen. You may be at the end of the day but until they state that is the case you stating your prediction as it will happen isnt correct. 
Maybe in the future if you are predicting dont use words like this will happen and say I believe it will.

My date updated on Feb 3rd too for no reason that I'm aware of. I wish they would state the reason for the update. 

I just scheduled my interview for Feb 19th at 7:30am. Both the 19th and 26th were still open, although I think the 26th only had an 8:30am slot open. Now I need to book my medical. 
 
Anyone know if the interview confirmation letter is emailed or sent regular mail?

I received the email that our case is now heading to the consulate! That being said, I noticed the my the petitioners name has a typo! We checked all the paperwork we submitted and it’s all correct so it must have been admin error. Is it best to call NVC even if it’s headed to the consulate? Contact our consulate? Or wait until the interview.

100% the hardest! We are SO close yet still so far away!!!! How did you know when the consulate received your file? Was it on ceac? I hope you get your P4 soon and you are able to set an interview date. Time will for sure fly by! Keep us posted

@Dfaye You too! This thread has been so quiet and it's nice to have an idea of where everyone else is at so I can see the current trends. 

You can't hurry it along at all. You must wait till you see your date on ceac change to ready two times. Second change you can send in your P3. A copy of the P3 is linked below. Comply with what they ask for in P3 (the actual one they send you) by sending them a copy of the signed P3 checklist, your DS-160 confirmation and your Passport Bio. Then they send you P4. Then they tell you to register to schedule and you'll wait some more for interviews to open up, which only happens once a month during the last week of the month for two months ahead UNLESS you are lucky and you scoop up a cancellation. Get your medical appointment first so you can schedule the interview shortly afterwards.

Here is some additional information. As was stated in the Canadian sub-forum there is an "emergency order" application in Ontario. You need the birth cert that is CERTIFIED COPY OF BIRTH REGISTRATION that has the parents name. You don't want the "parental cert" that is a wallet sized one with parents names but no place of birth, doctors who attended birth etc. The parental one is for parents travelling with kids to prove custody in an easy to use/travel with format. Hope this clears up your question. CALL the registrar and tell them you need to do an emergency application otherwise you will be waiting 15+ weeks. Absolutely the long form is a required LIVE document needed at the interview or you'll get rejected.  I hope this info is helpful and best of luck.
 
In case you're doing the medical in Vancouver: Dr. Cheema requires you to schedule the interview first in order to book the medical.
 
 
Routine vaccinations such as MMR, Tetanus, Flu Shots, etc are offered free of charge in the province of Ontario. Patients can walk into any health care clinical or family physician office and receive these immunizations for free.  it would be better to go and get your vaccinations free of charge rather than pay any additional fees at these the medical exams.
