The thing is.... consulates are not close. They ARE open according to the last statistics of non immigrant visas.

And from what I read, they are not suing USCIS. The law suit is against the Department of State for not declaring the resumption of K1 in certain countries while other non immigrant visas are processed.

For example: the US embassy in my country has been processing tourist visas but not K1s. How an US sponsored visa has less priority than a B2? I haven’t seen any proclamation that states that B2 are mission critical. My case has been sitting in the consulate since March 🤷🏽‍♀️ & they shut down the embassy the day before my interview so it makes sense to me to be the first one in line.

Yeah they have no basis for the statement that you'll get denied and are oblivious to the research and insight we have so totally ignore them. They are very wrong and it's not worth it to dispute them since it doesn't affect them anyway. Hang in there. At least some of us have a light at the end of the tunnel now.

DS-160 is simply used in case of non-immigrant visas.  DS-160 cannot be used for Spouse, Child or Sibling, so already that screenshot is wrong for DS-160.

Wrong. Until recently it was also used for k2 which is spouse. Why are you so against us trying to get our k1s? I thought this site was to support each other through a very difficult process.

Considering the hardship family members, fiancés included, have been enduring during the last months due to COVID-19, we have decided to start a petition to provide equality and solidarity to family members that haven't been considered and therefore excluded from the Coronavirus related bans.

Please, sign so we can make the difference!

Thank you for posting this! Just to clarify this petition is regarding the march 11 travel ban and points out that the ds160 form requires k1 applicants to list the American petitioner as immediate family, so as immediate family they should also be exempt from the travel ban.

the EO of April 2020 (effect date 23April ) is suppose to expire in 60 days (June 23rd or midnight 22nd -not sure which they consider)

and this was in Section 4

I have not heard that the EO was reviewed and extended as stated below but Republican Senators wrote to the administration in  May about the issue and their concerns for legal immigration

    https://www.aila.org/advo-media/whats-happening-in-congress/congressional-updates/republican-senators-send-letter-to-president-trump

Sec4.  Termination.  This proclamation shall expire 60 days from its effective date and may be continued as necessary.  Whenever appropriate, but no later than 50 days from the effective date of this proclamation, the Secretary of Homeland Security shall, in consultation with the Secretary of State and the Secretary of Labor, recommend whether I should continue or modify this proclamation.

You are confused. The petition is regarding the travel ban as the April eo doesn't affect k1 visas in any way.

Well that is news! Affected they are. Hmmm, wonder what remote work from home means? Are they going to be Hauling  paperwork in tubs home? Not sure how exactly they work, but they are affected.

It looks like they are just expanding a previously implemented wfh program and were planning on it due to union negotiations prior to this covid19 fiasco. I bet all files are scanned and handled digitally.

    Not yet, but

“The World Health Organization on Wednesday declared the novel coronavirus outbreak a pandemic.

There are 118,000 cases, more than 4,000 deaths, the agency said, and the virus has found a foothold on every continent except for Antarctica.“

so it’s business as usual for the states, but I really feel there is something more especially when it comes to immigration and bringing people outside of America, in.

Uscis is implementing work from home. May actually be a good thing for us!

With Italy closing their borders the consulates are doing only "emergency" services. I didnt see that visa interviews are cancelled but it seems to imply they are. Does anyone know? We should be interviewing this summer and it would be terrible if we were delayed due to a backlog. By the way, I have a flight there on Saturday and it hasn't been cancelled by the airline yet.

Update: the embassies in italy have confirmed visa interviews are cancelled unless deemed emergency. 😭😭

Noa 1 was recieved  October 11th 2019. Still waiting 139 and counting

I read some of your other posts. My heart goes out to you. The wait may mean the background checks on her side are complicated or bringing up red flags meaning they take a closer look into her. They are also looking to protect the us citizen from being taken advantage of so it might be a good thing they are taking their time. If they deny then you know your previous suspicions were correct. If they approve you can feel better. Best of luck to you.
