    Ayy y'all check this out.

Feb 15, 2024 Case Was Approved for Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence.

Feb 13, 2024 Case Was Submitted For Quality Review Based on An Approval Recommendation for Form N-400, Application for Naturalization.
Reviewed History for N-400, it does say N-400 to qualify for approval, already placed in line for scheduling for Oath Ceremony.

Hawk Riders reacted to A - J in N-400 Interview: Done and dusted. Thank you, VJ!
As with our other trip to the federal building, we parked across the street and got into the building about 20 minutes before our appointment. We were allowed up after waiting five minutes.

Once in the USCIS office, they checked us in and asked us to take a seat. We waited about ten minutes beyond our appointment time, which was no big deal.

The interviewing officer opened the door, called my name, and showed me back to her office where the interview started immediately - no small talk, very little eye contact, just business.

She swore me to the truth, and began by asking me a couple of questions about me, my parents, and my husband. She then asked me to read a sentence/question: who lives in the White House? I read it. Then she said the answer out loud and asked me to write it: the President lives in the White House.

We then moved to the civics questions:
Who is one of your state’s US Senators now? Who is in charge of the Executive branch? There were 13 original states. Name three. Who is the Commander in Chief of the military? Under our Constitution, some powers belong to the federal government. What is one power of the federal government? Name one branch or part of the government.
Then we moved on to the N-400 application, from which she asked me a few of the yes/no questions. She asked me to sign a couple of things like a correctness check and am I willing to take the Oath of Allegiance. It all happened so fast. Then she printed a paper and said I was recommended for approval but the case would be sent to quality review for final approval. She said I would get a date for the Oath Ceremony in the coming weeks.

All of this happened extremely fast. Really. Super fast. I looked at my watch when I went in and in NINE minutes we were walking to the elevator! Amazing.

We studied and read so many interview stories and felt like we knew what to expect. We still stressed, though. It’s normal.

One thing that someone wrote along the way stood out in all of the stories and studying: USCIS is not trying to trick anybody. They want you to succeed. Just tell the truth. Don’t try to change your narrative to fit what you think they want. Seems like that’s when things get complicated.

Our visa journey has been long but well worth it. If asked for one general piece of advice, we would just say to follow the guidance on this site. There are good, knowledgeable, and helpful people here. Present your case honestly. Try not to stress (too much) and let USCIS do the rest.

The dream is just getting started. We can’t wait to see what’s next.

TLDR: Houston citizenship processing is fast and passports are currently back to regular, reasonable processing times.

Houston filer here.  I applied about this time last year, online.  I had my first NOA within a day.  I was notified of biometrics within the week.  I applied under the 3 year minus 90 day rule, so I had to actually accrue my 3 years (April 1).  My interview was scheduled for April 10 and my oath ceremony on April 27.

I had imminent international travel for work, so I did waste 2 days of my life, sitting in the passport office.  Do not recommend unless absolutely necessary.  It was LONG and BORING sitting there.

We just applied for new, expedited passports for my kids (Dec. 19) and I already have one passport in hand and Informed Delivery is showing a second package from the Tucson passport office scheduled for this week, so I'm assuming it's the second passport.  I have no idea when we'll get our documents and the kids' passport cards sent to us.

When DH did his citizenship in 2017, it took 19 months.  We were fully expecting it to take a lot longer than 4 months.

The thing to stress about is your passport - not the interview. Now, this can get in the way of your vacation. Easily.

As a US citizen, it is next to impossible to fly back without one (the airline will likely not let you board the plane). Last summer, with all the post-COVID revenge travel happening, it was taking 4-5 months to get a new one (things have improved... but again, fewer people are travelling in the winter. You do not have to believe me - just search on reddit).

Now there are ways around it (either while still in the US or at the consulate in Bucharest), but is it neither easy nor pleasant. You've got some reading to do - information abounds.

Each office processes N400's roughly on a first come first served basis regardless of 3yr or 5yr filing (of course there are exceptions depending on the case complexities).  Some offices are fast, and some are slower.

Tons of people did the 3 year rule. Join the monthly threads for up to date info on timelines. My husband applied under 3 year rule and took the oath 3 1/2 months after applying.

Here's this month's thread but there's one for every month.

To everyone here - if you've previously requested to be added to the tracking spreadsheet, make sure you tag and have the information updated.  We had amazing statistics back in 2018, but as time has gone on, they've become less and less, so less and less helpful to people going through the process.  It would be great to see a revitalization of the information!

Hi guys! This will be our final check in here. Hubby took his oath today and it was a beautiful little ceremony in a library. He was able to register to vote this evening after we got back and voted for the first time in a US election. They also gave him a full American Flag provided by a local veteran's chapter. Good luck everyone! Your day will be here soon!

We submitted the application 7/31. Appointment was scheduled for today 10/3.
6 civic test questions (all from the USCIS app). Read one sentence, write two sentences.
Then was into the questions from the N400 form.
At the same we did I751 questions/answers.
Everything took about 30 minutes. At the end my wife got letter stating that she has passed English test and history and government test.
The second check mark is at: Congratulations! Your application has been recommended for approval. At this time it appears that you have established your eligibility for naturalization. If final approval is granted, you will be notified of when and where to report for your naturalization ceremony.

So ALMOST done I wonder how long it takes before we get the oath ceremony letter.

Passed N-400 and I-751 combo interview today. Filed N-400 last 06/16/23. No movement in I-751 case until it was approved today. 10-year GC will be produced and I will have to surrender it at the Oath Taking Ceremony.

Still no movement on my I-751 since August 2022 but got scheduled for my N-400
interview on October 26, 2023. Hoping it’ll either be a combo interview or the I-751 would be approved before that with a waived interview
