Hilde reacted to payxibka in Vaccine connundrum
They may have given two injections but it most likely was TDaP and MMR which is the equivalent of 6

Hilde reacted to HKS in Vaccine connundrum
My husband didnt have any vaccines and at the medical they only gave him 2 of the required/ recommended idk which.
I have had 8 vaccines at once. It just depends on what the doctor recommends and your comfort level with multiple vaccines at once. IMHO

Hi! My IR1 visa came with an annotation - 212 (g) (2) (B) - which according to the Officer at POE means I was granted a waiver by the US Consulate for incomplete inoculation record. To be honest I'm not sure about which vaccines were missing since I have my vaccine record and was only asked to get the flu shot, but maybe your husband will get some sort of waiver as well? Hope everything goes well and he's able to get his visa soon.

Assuming they have a paralegal/case manager do that type of work (since most do) I would say 48 hours- even if it's just a "Thank you for your question- I'll look into it and get back to you" sort of response.

Updating the timeline - many thanks to all who actively monitored and participated in the conversations (SalvadorBahia, DeParaquedasBrasi, 1700Hope, Hilde)
Married March 2019 USCIS took about 1 year, no expedites requested The consulate we will be using is General Consulate of Rio de Janeiro NVC case created May 2020 NVC documentarily qualified July 2020 Consulate expedite request July 2020 Expedite declined NVC expedite request October 2020 Expedite declined NVC expedite request December 2020 Expedite declined NVC notification for appointment canceled February 2021 (was initially confusing as it seems it is their systems sending this when they advance with your application for the interview) NVC notification next day saying that the expedited request was accepted February 2021 Medical appointment was done based on the doctor's office availability (2 appointments were required as the results were not handed off same day) ASC appointment for digital photo and fingerprints April 19 2021 (scheduled 9AM, the office opened 12PM to 4 PM - mandated by city rules it seems, for this week) - note: do not risk on doing it same day as the interview date Consulate interview April 20 2021 - green card received (no same day delivery since with pandemic context they want people as soon as possible out of building; 10 days shipping over mail) Total time: about 2 years (too many things that need to be improved)
Praise to God that soon we can finally be a family. Wishing you all the best and stay strong, the time will come when God has planned for.

Seems like RDJ sends out letter on the 15th then. I got my date just now too. Can hardly believe it!

So glad you got your interview date! I had the same issue when registering for my appt online the same day I received the interview letter - I waited 24hrs and was able to do it the next day. It also took a few days for the CEAC status to update.

So I got my interview letter! May 6
I guess the embassies do send stuff out on the 15th!
Called doctor to schedule interview and tried to register my appointment online but am unable to. It appears that it takes some time for the consulate to receive information sent by NVC.

It took about a week for my husband’s name to show up in the list (even though the consulate’s email says they already sent the information). Forwarding your email with your interview date to the doctor might help.

For everyone: I requested expedite last month and got denied.
So it seems like they are moving along non-expedite requests and DQ dates are up to May 2020.

Hello everyone!
I want to let you know that 30 minutes ago we've received our interview date in Rio - May 10, 2021 (our DQ is May 13th, 2020). We haven't submitted any expedite requests (none at all), contacted the consulate or the NVC!!!
I hope that everyone out here gets their interview dates as soon as possible! Good luck everyone!

I'm in a Facebook group with other folks waiting for an interview in Colombia. There's a theory that they've been sending out interview letters around the 15th of the month, but I wouldn't take that too seriously because the pandemic is still affecting things here too.

Hilde reacted to laylalex in Sponsored Spouse Move to the US alone and IR1 related questions
You know, it's interesting. Normally we have people who are aching to be together so badly that they are trying to see if there's a way to get around the amount of time apart. Here we have people who want to be apart so they're trying to see if there's a way to get around being together.
OP, as others have said the point of family based immigration is to bring families together. Your husband may be itching to move over to the US but until you as the US citizen are ready to return permanently, a spousal visa is not appropriate. Immigration to the US is a privilege, not a right, and that goes for family members of USCs too. That means meeting all the requirements of petitioning for the visa, and applying for the visa too.
If your husband is dying to get to the US faster than you are, perhaps there is a work or investor visa he is eligible to apply for.

It's good you're researching. Tell him to join VJ so he can research too. For registering kids for school. Most of the time the school will not let you until you are actually moved. So they shouldn't ask for school registration, you can move mid year too. Schools are pretty good with enrolling kids mid year. I moved in May 08, the schools in Canada still had nearly two months to go. The schools here had just a few weeks so they wouldn't register them at that point. Their old school did sent me their final report cards showing the next grade level. They weren't even looked at for the primary levels and the HS kids they just went by what I told them and a transcript to give them credit for he classes they already had. Kids are much more resilient to change then we are.

I thought Brazil was doing so poorly with interviews because of the high COVID cases. But this thread is so quiet... I think it´s stalled pretty much everywhere.
