I live in the city, but we don't have good transportation system here. It's a good mile walk to the nearest bus stop. Uber could work, but it's not heavily used here, so it would be expensive to go anywhere.

And who will pay for that? Definitely not me.

I will not if she decides to take off. She needs to come back and discuss things. We would benefit from seeing a marriage counselor and figuring things out. But if she's done, she's on her own.

We were together for about 2.5 years prior to getting married. Granted, most of our relationship was online because of the pandemic. I visited the Philippines twice before they locked down.

I only left her in the car so she could cool down and have space. She knew where I was and had a phone so she could call. I didn't run off with zero explanation as to where I was going or when I would be back. She abandoned her own children for nearly 24 hours. They were scared and had no idea what was happening.

Yes, we agreed to having children as soon as possible. She wanted to finish having kids so she could start her career.

Sure, she could probably chose to leave, but she would be in a world of hurt. Who is going to be providing for her and the kids? She's in need of prenatal care and other medical care for the kids. How can she take care of that?

My fiancée and her two kids are finishing up medical and interviews soon. We anticipate them being in the States at the end of February or early March.

When they fly to the US in k1 and k2 visas, are they required to fly directly from the Philippines? Would they be allowed to transit (layover) through Japan or Singapore without any issues?

Fiancée and kids were just approved for their visas. We anticipate them being here in March.

Is there a forum or guide for help with the next process?  Of course getting married is a high priority. But not familiar with the others steps... EAD, AOS, SSN,  Especially with K2s.

I use wise.com, here is an invite if you wish for a free transfer or ignore; https://wise.com/invite/u/dennisk93
They have a "Create a scheduled or recurring transfer" feature.
I like them because they give you the real transfer rate of the day.
    Cheers.

Thanks for the heads up about wise.com. Just did a side-by-side comparison with Remitly and wow.. Wise is very upfront about fees AND still pays about 2% more PHP, on $500 conversion, that was an additional 500PHP.
    Great tip!  Thanks!

My memory is faulty, so I had to look it up to confirm.  Coming out of customs is long ramp, and you have people looking down gawking at you as go.

I'm not sure where a good spot would be, but now you kind of know what you are dealing with.

Fiancée and kids are flying into LAX on Friday. They will be coming into Terminal B.  I've been through this terminal several times, but it's been two years since I was there.

Where is the best place to meet them? We have connecting flight together several hours after their arrival. Is there a common meeting area outside of baggage claim?

Get the nasal swab Rapid Antigen test. Technically, the CDC guidelines say that the saliva test is acceptable, but I've read some airport guideline expressing that they specifically require nasal swab. I wouldn't take any chances - better safe than sorry.

Get a rapid antigen test the day of the flight. But make sure if you transit through another country that they will accept it. Also check with the airline.

Did you just barely file the I-129F? If so, you probably have several years until your fiancée has an interview.
