Sounds like they plan to re-issue....good deal.

They said they need the kids' original Visas along with passports and a valid reason as to why the kids didn't travel within the alloted time. They will schedule an interview if they feel the information submitted is sufficient,  and make a decision.

If you didn't get K2 visas for them you have 1 year from the date of her interview to have them in the US as follow to join.  After that requires a CR2 for each of them.

Don't make assumptions.  Instead, take a look at the expiration dates on the actual visas.  That is the bottom line, with no extensions possible.

If your children attended the K visa interview and were approved, then yes, the K2 visas are probably valid for 6 months. Just look at their printed visas and see the expiration dates. Once the K2 visa is issued, you cannot opt for the follow to join. You will have to use the K2 visa within its validity period

Did the kids do the medicals and apply for visas as well? This means DS-160s would have been filed (and MRV fees paid for). If so, were the visas issued?
If they were issued, the validity date is right on the visas.
 
There are no extensions of the visa. Their validity dates are constrained by the medical results, which are usually valid for up to 6 months.
If it's been less than 1 year since the K-1 visa was issued, they should be eligible for a replacement visa. This means new medical, new visa fees, new interview, etc.

So they were interviewed and received visas in their passports as follow-to-join?  The visas will have an expiration date printed right on them.

K2 visas expire after six months.

my medical was sent online but it wasn’t there when I had interview..
Visa was approved pending medical.. kind of annoyed about it but nothing I can do about it now..

We are all scheduled for the interview in Rio de Janeiro on December 10th at 7:40 a.m. Very excited!

Truth is I have bad days like everyone else.  I try and fight it but some days its easier to roll with the punches.  I've know him for 13 years now and I cant imagine life without him.  But I do get close to breaking point sometimes.  If I had any idea it would possible be like this I would have arranged another trip but that's on me.  So we wait.  Cant do anything else.  Time will tell what the future holds.  But I am genuinely happy for each and everyone that does hear and moves on.  Everyone deserves the happiness and it will come

You should be a part of the transit group to your embassy.
 
A bit of CAUTION: Shipment notification are all day Tuesday and Wednesday. I know having said that some Moron will say in the morning when they start shipping, "Why isn't mine changing to in transit". "Everyone elses is?" 

I'm in the same boat. Ours was received October 10th, hoping it is on it's way to Brazil tomorrow. Good luck!

FYI - Shipments will go out BOTH Tuesday and Wednesday so don't be disappointed that yours never left on Tuesday. The website is updated throughout the day so if others are getting notified and you haven't been then you need a little more patience for yours to appear as shipped. They don't all ship at the same time. Good luck.

I just want to thank everyone. My fiance got her Visa last month and should be in the US on the 19th.
 
She had to interview by herself since I was busy in April but everything worked out in the end.

I just called..still no case number for us☹️

Thank you but I have been calling number all week and I get the same results.  The recording in English is a man, then it repeats as a woman in Spanish then immediately hangs up. It's getting frustrating because I see couples on here that received their NOA2 approval after us, yet have received their NVC number.
