ARs reacted to anna.us in Petition to include K1 filers as exemption from travel bans
Considering the hardship family members, fiancés included, have been enduring during the last months due to COVID-19, we have decided to start a petition to provide equality and solidarity to family members that haven't been considered and therefore excluded from the Coronavirus related bans.

Please, sign so we can make the difference!

My already set up for 16 days from today interview will be rescheduled, but Idkfor how long yet.

ARs reacted to Penguin_ie in Negative attitudes in the forum
I wanted to address the negative attitudes we have seen on the rise recently in the upper/ immigration forums towards those who ask beginner/ simple questions, or have unusually fast or slow VisaJourneys.

First, there is a tone difference between the Progress forums- which are mostly for support and cheerleading, and the Info forums, which are mostly to have questions answered.   While all our forums are supposed to be welcoming to all and friendly, this is especially important in the Progress forums, which are not to discuss politics, or be negative towards  those fortunate to have their case dealt with quickly, or  critical of those who voice sadness about their own slow progress. These forums are there to uplift eachother!

Secondly- in the info forums, you may get bad news.  When a question is asked, our members are encouraged to answer truthfully, even if this may not be what the Op wants to hear, because it is important to be informed.  However, the emphasis is still on being welcoming and friendly.  If you need to give bad news, do so gently, and stick to facts; constructive criticism of the Op's plans ARE allowed, but the emphasis is on constructive.  No need to dwell on mistakes (or tell members they should be on 90 Day Fiance- that is a personal attack and automatic suspension), or  illegal actions in the past- instead, encourage and explain legal options for the future.  And ONLY legal options- as per our TOS, VJ does not support, condone or encourage illegal (immigration) actions, and such posts will be removed.

Ultimately, we are here to help all members, old and new, easy cases and complicated, those who write a fact filled bullet point post and those who are panicking and don't make much sense in their first post. Yes, sometimes questions can be easily googled, or answered via a search of our forums.  But if you feel that way, just scroll past- no need to criticise the OP for asking the question.

Something I learned a long time ago and it continues to be true today. He who has the gold makes the rules. You don't have the "gold"  and therefore you may face stiffer penalties from the one who has the gold.

Oh I see you have another post about not understanding why you need to fill out a I-134 when "most" of that information is contained in the I-129f. Your building yourself a reputation.

Regular mail. I think it’s the only way you can send the documents now as stated on the P3 instructions you receive from the embassy by email

Welcome I know that you are excited, having just received your K-1 NOA2!!! Didn't see a December 2019 thread started so here it is. Congratulations on the submission of your K1 visa application. This forum will be very helpful to you through your visa process "journey" as we call it here. If you have not done so yet please fill out your time line as it makes it easier for other VJers to assist you if you should have any questions later on during your journey.

Best advice, is remember why you have submitted your K1 application and do not set very high expectations of the process. Current processing times according to USCIS are 5.5 to 7.5 months (for case adjudication only), some could be sooner some much later. The trends so far this year have been considerably less than what USCIS has listed, which is good news for current filers. Let's hope this trend continues on through this last month of the year.

Yes and no on the extension of the validity of the NOA2. The embassy is the one that will extend it but it only does so with a valid reason. I don't believe they would consider work a valid reason. It's kinda like thinking what is more imporatant a job you will never return to or a future husband that you both have jumped through hoops to get a visa so that you can marry. Just expressing an opinion.

    Sure, I'd be happy to!

If you find anything not up to date or the information is wrong, please share your findings. Please compare the date of the P3 of mine with the date from your copy, once you receive yours from your embassy. Keep in mind that I try and be factual with my information, but I can't do it on my own and that's where you come in and can give back to the community those who come behind you. Without others ahead of you I would not be able to provide this to you.  I can only share factual information if folks like you continue to be my eyes and ears for your embassy. I wish you much success in your visa journey.

Spain requires the embassy send the packet 3 which allows the beneficiary to schedule and attend the medical and needs to be brought to the medical appointment, and in order to book the interview Spain requires packet 4. I have not verified this but this information came from someone who processed recently.

A wet signature is not required for the I-134 that will be presented at the interview.
