You can use the 1040 for both the embassy and CFO with the K-1.   Embassy does require the W-2

Have your fiancee black out the SSN on the copy for CFO.

TAX RETURN TRANSCRIPT.  CFO won't understand any transcript.

    Thanks for the heads-up OP!

I really don't understand CFO though. Isn't it obvious that the petitioner isn't married? The petition was already approved.

Don't get me wrong, I hate not being with my fiancé too. There is nothing more that I want than to close the distance. However, I know that impatience isn't going to make the process go any faster.

    This.

Thank you for the reminder @Greenbaum!

It is worth to remember too that, in the grand scheme of the immigration process, 30, 60, 90 days isn't a lot. This whole process from the I-129F to ROC--and for some, Naturalization--totals, what? 5 years? That's 1,825 days.

Besides, if this feels unfair, just think of how the Adjustment of Status is. This is just a patience-builder.

I would say that knowing that you are waiting your turn brings more comfort than the thought of being ignored (as the poster who I replied to was asking).

If I may give some advise and hope not to offend anyone as it’s not my intention rather my own experience as well.

I watched most April Filers bypass me and end up with their SO long before our interview.
We were the first approved in our thread.
I read through other threads and months with petitions  and I’ve not seen so much anxiety on them as I have here on this one.

I was stuck at the NVC for months and while I thought it was unfair. Life is unfair.
Immigration is very complex and there’s still the unknown at NVC and Embassy with no case number assigned and trying to find your case.
There are millions of people in line so calling everyday just holds everything up more and quite frankly will make you sick.
I had to take a “time out” from the forum as it “literally” can consume your life.

I would encourage you to read back through posts  and see for yourself.
I see someone  “like” a post and immediately write about their case every time like clock work. “Me” , “Me” and “Me” when we should be celebrating for those approved instead of the spiral of stressing after another person was approved before you.
I’ve seen others than start to stress too based on responses.
It’s just not healthy and I promise you that it will not go faster calling and causing so much anxiety yourself.
Please do not take my comments as harsh but constructive criticism.
I wish you nothing but good luck on your journey rather to consider others feelings that did just get approved.
I tell you this as I do understand and write to you because I do care and regardless you will end up with an obstacle in the process.
It’s how you handle it that will make you and your fiancé stronger.
The faster you practice some patience, enjoy in others journeys, the faster you will end up seeing an approval.
That was my experience and I can bet that will be yours as well. 🙏❤️

Your approvals will come soon or at least an answer. That is a guarantee.
So please keep your heads up and spirits high.

This idea, previously posted by the member Darnell, might enable career avenues that would be more direct than pursuing a certificate program -- people might be impressed enough with your fiancé to offer him something outright:
    ---
Each city has a chamber of commerce. Find it.

Once you find it - talk with the secretary - tell her you want a schedule of events and let her know you'd like to attend.

Then - go in person to the Chamber of Commerce Office - talk with the President of the Chamber, tell him/her you want to volunteer at several of their events.

Attendees at chamber events are business owners and sales geeks, all looking for new business.  It usually is an informal-enough gathering where you can approach people and talk with them.

Now, the cool thing about being a volunteer there - is that you will be talking to everyone at least once - you might be at the reception table, you might be at the greeters table, you might help to run the audio/video system - whatever - but - the point is that you can meet everyone there, face to face.

Attend 2 or 3 of these, and folk remember you. When folk remember you, they will remember you are seeking employment and will consider you, because you're just not some name on a piece of paper - they met you at a chamber event and know that you were volunteering, helping out the chamber.

Go Get Em, and Good Luck!

PS - live in a really small town? go to the biggest town that's within 15 miles of your house.

    Thanks Sarge!

She already has CFO appoinment set for the end of the month. All the other documents are ready to go, save for the ones that need to be recent--but even those have been partially filled out (I-134). I also have tax documents from the last 3 years, talked to HR about an employment letter. She's as ready as can be for the interview. She's not too fazed as she's been to the USEM for tourist visas before.

She's very organized, she already has a list for AOS requirements. I just feel useless and the only thing she needs help with is setting up out here. I tell her it's all good but she likes knowing things herself,.maybe I'm not so dependable as I'd like to think 😅

billding reacted to Sarge2155 in What are the financial must-do's for a K-1 Fiancé?
Nothing wrong with thinking ahead, but in your case you are at the critical  stage with the medical  and interview coming up. I think you should focus  there. If your fiancee has not already got an appointment  with CFO look into doing that now.  Gather your documents for the interview. Many things can snag you at this point and you need to be more focused on the current situation. I'd  wait awhile before jumping so far ahead. Just  my opinion.

It can come in handy in case somebody's green card expires (i.e. during ROC) and they need to show eligibility to work for an I-9. They could use their unrestricted SS card + a driver's license or state ID in that case.

You can have them printed at Walgreens or something, write on the back, put on a ziplock bag, label with your name, attach to the envelope/folder you are sending.

Or you can copy/paste on a word document, add a few lines (who, where, when).

You can't send in a photo album or a scrapbook, regardless of what YouTube says

You can definitely do this without a lawyer too. Just familiarize yourself with the process (see official USCIS instructions, and K1 guide on this site, browse on this site). Most do it by themselves. You can save yourself a few thousands,
