  1. Interview done! We had ours scheduled this morning 7.45am in Newark, NJ. Arrived at 7.30am, we waited maybe 40-45 mins, interview was over in 10 mins - we took an oath, she asked for additional evidence(she said it was plenty and she didn’t even take it all). She asked a couple of simple questions - how we met, when we started officially dating, how many guests in our wedding, how long we‘ve lived together etc. Then she asked me to confirm my husbands (the USC) full name, date of birth, country of birth as well as few of the yes/no questions from the application. and said everything seems fine, we should have an update by EOD.

We got home and within 30 minutes of the interview ending my status already changed to ‘card is being produced’. It was super simple and easy and the officer was a lovely lady, who said she’s been working there for over 18 years.
Glad it is over for now!

Yes my EAD is expiring in November, I'm thinking of sending it for renewal next month, I'm from Manhattan NY so most probably wont get my GC anytime soon, specially considering the whole coronavirus situation.

    Hi!

Do you know how long does the renewal process take? Mine is expiring in November too, I had my interview scheduled in Newark NJ, for April but it got cancelled due to the virus. I’m really hoping I’ll get a new date ASAP after USCIS opens their offices again and don’t have to go through the EAD renewal process...

    Thanks so much...

That means probably I would have received the interview date if it hadn't been for this...

I'm a exactly a month behind you I suppose.... What day in August did you get the update please?

Just taking precautions to stay employed since losing the EAD validity would bring much difficulty.

    No problem at all!

if I remember right it was August 22nd, or some time around then. You would have probably received it already if it wasn’t for this current chaos, let’s hope it won’t get too delayed!

Please, anyone on here has Newark, New Jersey as their local office?

Status Update has been " Case ready for Interview" since September 5, 2019.

    EAD expires in November, 2020.

Currently lost as to what to do.

Do I apply for a new EAD or hope my interview date is scheduled soon?

    Anyone with similar dilemma?

    Hi,

Newark, NJ here too. I got my “interview ready to scheduled” in August and my interview was actually scheduled about a month ago, for April 15th. However, now because of this virus closure, I am sure it will be delayed. I’m just waiting for the letter to show up.
My EAD expires in November too but I’m confident that my interview will surely be by that, since it is now scheduled for April. This virus chaos will probably delay your interview too, but I’m sure it’ll come on time before EAD expiration.

  5. Just wanted to share my experience traveling with Advance Parole. We went back to my home country for a week due to my father’s illness, arrived back yesterday to Newark airport. Took my fingerprints and photo as usual, asked where we went and for how long, and then said I need to step to the office for another check. Waited for 5 mins, my name was called, passport and EAD/AP was handed back and they wished me a good rest of the day 😄

my husband was a bit nervous before hand as he didn’t know what to expect but it took just a few minutes.

  6. EAD and AP in hand, exactly a week after card is being produced notification.

I want to strangle the mailman though as for some reason he thought it’s a good idea to leave the letter on the floor by the front door of our building, where anyone can get to,  instead of the mailbox. Luckily I was home and kept checking the tracker.

Hello everyone, i submitted my AOS concurrent with EAD and I-131 on June. It's been 5 months and NOTHING.

My AOS status is still "Ready to be scheduled for an interview" as of September 25, 2019.

My EAD status is still "Fingerprint review was completed" as of August 24, 2019.

Should i call the USCIS and follow up my case?

What should i prepare and bring on the interview?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I’m in the same exact situation, filed June 10th and nothing since. If you inquire about it, all they’ll say is that you’re within the normal processing times. I’m sure the rest of us June filers will get our EADs and APs soon.

If you think NJ or anywhere up

north is slow , check on Texas (especially Houston ). I have a truck load of popcorn to enjoy the waiting game show for my interview to be scheduled like everyone else here.😎

Lol! I’ll bring the drinks, you bring popcorn.

I think the inconsistency in the whole concept of immigration processing is the worst.

    Wow!!!!! Congratulations!

    That gives me some hope....

Mine has been "case ready to be scheduled....." for all this while.

And I realised you had your bio Appointment 2 weeks before me.

I've always been praying for Joyousinger to get some updates so that at least I know something is on the horizon...

New Jersey moves so slow than it eats every energy out of you.

Congratulations once again & also to everyone making progress on here.

    Stay blessed.

Pfffttt don’t even mention New Jersey, I’m right here too and nothing, I mean nothing, is happening.

I know I should be more patient and it's only been two days since my interview (recommended for approval) but I wonder how long would it take for the status to change. It's still on "interview was scheduled"

Also. After I left the interview I noticed the IO put a name of another applicant on the form I received at the end of the interview. My A number is correct on it.

I really don’t want to be a party pooper but my friend waited over 60 days for hers to be approved after her interview, it was such a nightmare. She contacted uscis at least twice in that time, both times they said they don’t know what’s going on but they’ll “open an inquiry”. I was already helping her to write to her local congressman, but literally a day after that the status changed and her card showed up in the mail.
I honestly don’t wish that to anyone, she was extremely stressed out.

  11. So I tried speaking to a live representative on the Emma chat just to see if there’s anything g they can say about my EAD/AP, got through within minutes and had a very nice sound rep - until the chat kicked me out and disconnected!
I tried again, got through to another one (nowhere as polite as the first one) and she just gave me the generic response “you are within the processing times and approval is not guaranteed”. Good effort though 😂

The EAD wait times are so ridiculous. The VJ estimated approval date just keeps getting later and later. A few months ago, the estimate for us was early November. Now it says December 9th. I know that we could literally get approved tomorrow, but my fear is that we'll end up on the long end of the wait instead.

I don't mean to be negative, but it's hard to see approvals for both EAD and green cards all over the place (especially from timelines that are nearly identical otherwise). I understand the wide variance in green card approvals, but I wonder why EAD approvals are so inconsistent when they are processed through the same center.

Totally agree. The VJ estimations keep changing weekly, processing times on USCIS website keep changing from 2.5 months to 7.5 months within a couple of months so it’s really hard to rely on anything, it’s better not to even look at them.

Myself and my husband are lucky that we are doing fine financially (not great, but not struggling)  but I honestly wonder how do they expect normal couples/families to cope up to 7.5 months with one spouse’s income? We talked about it last night at home and came to the conclusion that these long processing times are probably, at least partially, intentional to put couples into test whether they’ll make it or not, and also to deter people from applying.

Regardless of what it is, 7.5 months is ridiculous. I know for sure that my interview won’t be until March/April earliest, so EAD and AP is necessary.

I'm so sorry about you not being able to go home for Christmas, and it's totally understandable how you are feeling down about this! Hang in there ❤️ next Christmas is going to be a great one.

    Edit: Also, thank you!

Thank you, that’s very sweet of you 😊 My nephew, who I last saw when he was 3 months old, is now almost 2 years which is why it’s extra hard to be stuck here but at the same time, I know what I signed up for so I’m trying not to get bitter about it.

Try not to use those wait times as a guide! My EAD/AP card is being delivered today. Yours is coming soon too :). I stopped checking after the first 2 months because it is so stressful looking at those wait times fluctuate.

    Congrats! 😊😊

Yeah, I’m gonna stop putting any hopes on anything anymore as it’s really depressing being let down.My husband is being super encouraging and remains hopeful but I’m tired.  I’m just disappointed as we really wanted to travel to my country for Christmas and flights have become ridiculously expensive, and we can’t book anything before I have the AP in hand. So probably have to scrap that idea completely and go sometime next year.
