MovingToFlorida got a reaction from A&K2021 in So frustrated. Docs all accepted 3 weeks ago and no DQ email
We had all documents accepted July 1st but didn't receive the DQ email until July 26th. It took a long time and no idea with the pandemic if things are delayed even more so.

MovingToFlorida got a reaction from alphabetagamma in Car importing or sell it?
We just moved to Florida from Canada 2 weeks ago. We have a 2016 mazda and we imported it. Paid about $350 for import fees when we entered. Our car had a sticker showing it was emissions approved in the US. If the car is financed you just need a letter from the loan company saying they give you permission to take it to the US. If your car isn't emissions approved and you have to have work done on it to be approved it might be better to sell it.

MovingToFlorida reacted to JeanneAdil in Middle name spelled wrong on social security card
Just provide your passport with full legal name (or birth certificate) that will suffice for DL
what i am saying is ss only cares about the # /my late husbands's card said terry /formal name was terence and he always thought it was terrence
but when he passed i had no trouble applying for death benefits

MovingToFlorida reacted to JeanneAdil in Middle name spelled wrong on social security card
i wouldn't worry that this has to be corrected immediately
i say it because i have all 3 of my SS cards
1st one has my full name 1st name, middle name and maiden name
2nd one has 1st name maiden name and last name (of my late husband)
new one has 2st name middle initial and new last name
and when i applied for DL i just used 1st and last name (no middle name or initial)

When you call them remind them that their policies say that they should not request Original immigration documents from you via mail and per that policy you need an in-person appointment: https://secure.ssa.gov/apps10/reference.nsf/links/05262021015248PM "Do NOT request a non-citizen to submit his or her immigration documents by mail or using the drop box. Due to DHS regulations, non-citizens are required to have their immigration documents in their possession at all times"

Just received my green card.
Arrived May 20, received green card July 29. 70 days/10 weeks.
Seems I will have to call on my SSN though, should have done that within 3-4 weeks.

My wife received her GC in about 6 weeks. We never received her SSN. After three weeks we called SSA and they stated there was no request in their system for her card/number. We filled out and mailed a SS-5 to our local SSA office and got an appointment to apply in person. After the appointment she got her SSN card in about a week.

Just as a heads-up: it is very common for SSN cards to not come automatically in the mail- it has always been like this, nothing to do with COVID. So now with COVID I'd expect to have to go in-person, as the above poster mentioned.
As for Green cards- thankfully, this wasn't the case- they almost always came in the mail within a few weeks. Now with COVID it is backed up as you said, but I'd be shocked if it didn't come before your stamp expires. Definitely annoying that it takes so long, hang in there and it will come.

Hello, Im not sure if this helps but Im in a similar situacion but with Mexico and K1 visa. I know the restrictions got extended another month to July 20 (hopefully the last). So I called CBP and went down in person to their processing/permit unit on 2 seperate occasions, and I was told both times that they are processing K1 visa's despite the restrictions. K1 is technically non-immigrant, Soooo I think its safe to say you're good to go with the spousal visa since its immigrant🙂. I haven't crossed my fiancé yet as she has not received her visa so I can't tell you first hand. Hopefully we get it soon, its been over 7 days since It was issued and still nothing

Have family in Port St. Lucie. They've been there decades.
Almost relocated to Atlantic Coast decades ago (Boca), and again when we immigrated from Philippines.
We had never been to the Gulf Coast before, but love it here.
But miss Hawaii (previous primary residence) every single day.

Thank you! So I'm guessing as far as being allowed to move/cross border we should be allowed cause with our visas we're now permanent residents of the US.
I didn't see anything about needing a covid test if you're entering by land? It did say something for air travel. Hopefully nothing changes in 3 weeks. We'll call the border closer to to make sure.
