my&aaron reacted to mikelancs in EAD Expedite Timeline After Fax Request
    Hi,

just wanted to update with my expedite timeline:

3rd June- called to expedite, logged with tier 1.
4th June- email received from USCIS requesting evidence.
5th June- fax sent with cover letter and job offer letter.
7th June- USCIS new site updated I-765 case to ‘new card is being produced’.

Amazed at the speed of application. Does anyone know if the card needs to be signed for? My wife and I are out of state during the period it will be delivered.

    thanks

Thank you!  Yes...I had seen some who showed just that...a 1 week decision period.  Is it to provide me with some kind of HUGE relief going in to the weekend...?  I hope that was what their intent was.

And while I am struggling with tremendous emotions right now...I still have a huge heart for all of us that are still wondering...when...if...and more.  I feel for everyone one of us!!

So, my Expedite request looks like the following.  I submitted my documents about 2 hours AFTER the latest update...and have heard nothing since.  But, I have seen others where the entire Expedite request process took between 1-2 weeks.  Just hoping it happens quicker...we're at exactly one week today...

    And not 1 hour later...

I cannot begin to express the immense relief of emotions this has caused.

Please...to the rest of us...please remain vigil, remain calm, and never, EVER give up HOPE!

We are ALL in this TOGETHER!

Now all you have to do it wait. Mine stayed like that for 19 days. And on 06/5/19 I got notification there was an update and this is what it changed to.

Paul received his notification that his EAD expedite had been approved and the card was being processed yesterday.

We had zero issues. We submitted the expedite ourselves and then also (same day) though our senator.

We did not send a bazillion pages - a letter explaining why the expedite was requested, the NOA1 and biometrics with stamp, and his job offer letter, and a screenshot of his bank statement. I think it was 6 pages total.

We submitted it about 2 weeks ago.

Coincidentally, yesterday was his birthday and he said it was the best birthday present ever

Fair enough on the unnecessary risk I guess, but I don't think you guys are right. I-693 instructions online still say that you can bring it with you to the interview, and I-485 instructions still say

"You are NOT required to submit Form I-693 at the time you file your adjustment application, but may do so if you wish. Because of the time-limited validity of Form I-693, you may choose to submit your Form I-693 after you file your Form I-485. You may also submit Form I-693 in person at an interview in a USCIS field office, if an interview is required. By waiting to submit Form I-693, you may avoid having to repeat the immigration medical examination."

    The policy document states that

" A Form I-693 is valid only when a civil surgeon signs it no more than 60 days before the date an applicant files the application for the underlying immigration benefit; and USCIS
adjudicates the application within 2 years from the date of the civil surgeon’s signature."

So the (E: I meant) earliest you can get it signed is 60 days before filing. There is nothing about getting it signed after. And the reasoning for the policy update appears to make it easier for applicants and officers, so they don't have to keep requesting new forms, as they're now valid for two years--so the 60 days before rule is to avoid people using old I-693 forms they already have filled out prior as part of the application.

"USCIS is now updating the way the current maximum 2-year validity period is calculated to enhance operational efficiencies and reduce the need to request updated Form I-693 from applicants."

E: I mean, at the end of the day, I fully support doing everything right on the first try since they might deny the whole thing off the bat, but I just don't see how there is any basis to do so in this case. The documentation is pretty clear. Then again, I ain't advocating fighting USCIS so there's that.

I'm confused, I don't see where anything has changed on submitting I-693 at the time of the interview? It couldn't have been signed more than 60 days before filing, but says nothing about days after filing. Instructions still say:

"If you are applying for adjustment of status, you may submit Form I-693 in one of the following ways:
Submit Form I-693 by mail, together with your Form I-485, Application to Register for Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, to the location specified for your Form I-485 (see “Direct Filing Addresses for Form I-485”). Submit Form I-693 by mail, after filing your Form I-485, to the location specified in your most recent communication with USCIS (for example, a Request for Evidence letter from USCIS). Submit Form I-693 in person, at an interview in a USCIS field office (if an interview is required)." So why can't OP just wait to do the medical until later and submit it at the time of the interview?

Until a recent policy change this year, many people submitted AOS without the I-693 just fine. AOS was taking over a year in many cases, and submitting the I-693 at the same time meant it would expire, so people filed without it and just provided it at the interview.

With a recent policy change, the I-693 is valid for 2 years so long as it is provided with the AOS application within 60 days.
Send the medical exam with I-485 to minimize the chance of having it denied.

I am not 100% certain, but if your case is like my experience, there's a good chance that your biometrics mail was not delivered and then returned to USCIS. I called five times, asking again and again but was always told they have not scheduled my appointment. It was not until May 13 when egov USCIS updated my case online as "notice was returned to USCIS" that I realized that only the 2nd tier agent has access to notice updates, only then was I informed I missed my biometrics appointment back on May 3rd. I made the request for another one immediately which was sent to me on May 17, and I just received it on the mail yesterday.
If you have not done so, make sure you have your name labeled inside your mailbox. Apparently, it has something to do with the government mails. I received all of my NOAs, but missed that biometrics mail due to that. Best of luck on your call next week!

Finally found the thread with all the other April 2019 folks! (Please don't mind the username, I wish I could change it 😕 )

We got the notice in the mail today that our interview has been scheduled for June 25th!!! Under 3 months since we applied for AOS. I'm so excited, shocked and amazed it happened this quickly.

We are being processed from the Lawrence MA office, which I thought was going to be a bad thing since they probably have less resources as a smaller office. WRONG

    Our timeline:
    Married 4/12/18
    AOS mailed: 4/9/19
    AOS delivered: 4/12/19
    NOA1 4/19/19
Notice to have biometrics done: 4/26/19
    I-693 courtesy notice: 4/30/19
    Biometrics appointment: 5/14/19
Notice that interview was scheduled: 5/24/19
    Interview scheduled for: 6/25/19

Extremely excited but nervous for the interview. Got my fingers crossed for everyone else who applied in April!

Yall, let me share with you my frustrating experience so far. I am one of the early April filers: submitted everything on the 4th, NOAs received on the 13th, yet NEVER got my biometrics appointment. I have called USCIS five times and was always told that they haven't sent out mine and sometimes biometrics appointments don't come within 30 days (?!). Then this Monday (05/13), my status was updated to "Notice Was Returned To USCIS Because The Post Office Could Not Deliver It"...

GUESS WHAT? After talking to the 2nd tier agent, it turned out that I was scheduled for MAY 3RD for my biometrics(!!!!!) but the post office didn't deliver that letter to me, even though I have received every other mails from them just fine. Today, I changed my address and was told they will reschedule and I will hear back within the next 30 days. I am now set back for a month just because that damn mail wasn't delivered. This is just beyond frustrating.

I just submitted my application TODAY - all 3+ pounds of it, haha. My husband and I finally decided to submit it after starring at every single page every day. We did a concurrent filing of I-130 and I-485.

If you have filed or planning to file this month, please feel free to comment here. Best of luck to everyone!!!
