    Hi Fam!!!

So I just had my I485 interview this morning at NYC Federal Plaza and went by myself. It wasn’t that bad but it left me puzzled!

The interview itself only took 5-10 mins but the waiting time was 1 hour.

The lady officer was nice and very professional.

Here are all the questions she asked me:

    1. Do you have your passport? (I gave her my recent passport but she was looking for my old one when I first entered the US, didn’t have it with me, so I apologized for not bringing it)

    2. Where is your husband?

    3. When was the last time you saw him?

    4. What are your old addresses together?

    5. How long did you live in your address? (I might have messed this up because i can’t remember honestly since it was in 2017, but i gave her dates, just not sure if it was right)

    6. What was his old address?

    7. What’s his mom’s name?

    8. How did u meet?

    9. Do you have any more proof that your marriage is legitimate? ( I said no more but I brought our marriage cert, she said it’s okay she has a copy)

    10. What’s your current marital status? (Still married but i showed her my divorce papers that I just filed and it’s still on process )

    11. Do you have your medical? (Handed her my medical)

    12. When was your last entry in the US? (Answered her and she asked if I have my recent I94)

She then proceed to the Yes and No questions.

The only documents she asked from me was my passport, state ID, medical and I94. I thought she was going to ask for my old EAD/AP cards but she didn’t even ask for it then she told me that this interview is over and handed me Notice of Interview Results and if there’s anything they would mail me for updates. And That’s how my interview went. She didn’t say if it was approved or not.

Was I supposed to bring more proof of bonafide marriage? I wasn’t even prepared for that.

    What should I expect next?

Is it possible for them to schedule me for another interview or RFE since I didn’t bring my old passport and more proof of bonafide marriage?

Congratulations! finally, you can have a good night sleep, good luck in your journey!

@Pinkrlion hi, I have filled out I-90 form online but my problem is it’s asking me $540

to pay online even though I have checked the box that it was lost and I have never received it. I’ve also read that USCIS will not refund any payments done. There’s no waiver. Help :(  There’s Form I-912 but is asking about savings in the bank etc  idk why they didn’t have the option in the form that it was lost through carrier or USCIS ERROR

Since it was determined as nondeliverable by USPS, it is important to contact them before the 60 days.  After the 60 days, they will destroy the card, then you have to pay for the replacement card, and do another biometrics.  When you complete the I-90, you can put whatever address on it.

Thank you, do I have to do both I-90 and e request?

You actually received the card.  That is different than when USPS sends your card back for non-delivery.  USCIS will destroy Permanent Resident Cards, Employment Authorization Cards and Travel Documents returned as undeliverable by the U.S. Postal Service after 60 business days if USCIS is not contacted by the document's intended recipient to provide the correct address.

I-90 has a section that allows you to submit when USPS returns your GC

I did not received the card. It was delivered to my lawyer’s office since all of my mails were delivered there. In the tracking number that I have received, it says not delivered because there was an issue with the suite number being wrong. I called USPS and they told me it will be sent back to USCIS. I kept calling USPS local office and they won’t give me any details as to where my package is. I’ve asked for my lawyer to claim it instead at the post office since it was his name and office address but pretty much useless didn’t bother to wait bec he said the line was long and stopped responding to me. I am so desperate and depress. I thought this would be the end of it! He requested to USCIS a change of address ( he said he does know why it wasn’t changed before). Would it confuse USCIS if I’ll do the e-request and place my own address instead? With I-90, do I need to wait until USCIS receives the gc back before I have to request another card? That’s what I’ve been told when I called USCIS. Everything is so messed up!

I once went through same thing with my EAD. USPS sent me notification that package could not be delivered. However, as soon i got this notification i called USPS and the agent was very nice. he opened the ticket for me to redeliver the package. Therefore, i received the EAD after 10 days.

It was very messy situation. I can totally understand your position.

I called them right away too but I was told that they Will redeliver the ff day and I just had to wait. So I called again the ff day and I was told address was wrong so it’ll be redelivered to sender. I just hate how incompetent the system is

Thank you for responding. I called USPS and local post office plus USCIS. Unfortunately, USPS won’t do anything. It doesn’t help that the mail is not under my name. This happened before too with my EAD. It doesn’t make sense that all my other mails to my lawyer’s office were delivered without any issues.

  7. So I was supposed to get my gc last Friday but because USPS did not update the lawyer’s office’s new address, the delivery was all messed up! I am so pissed because I was told by USPS and local office that they don’t know where the package is 😤. Tracking number says it’ll be redelivered but they did not. I also found out that they didn’t update the suite number that’s why they couldn’t deliver it to my lawyer’s office! The guy was like, it’ll be delivered back to the sender! Incompetence at it’s finest😤😤😤. I am so frustrated. I thought I could get the card this week and start working. Does anybody had this kind of experience?
