I want to Thank everyone on this forum for your support and a lot of valuable info!! My journey finally came to the end!
my timeline
I485 was pending since May 2017 (based on marriage to USC)
February 2019 filed Vawa case
March 2019 Prima Facie #1 valid for 1 year
..wait began..
March 2020 Prima Facie #2 valid for 6 months (they sent it without me asking for it)
May 2020 Status change on i360 “Card is being produced” - this was EAD c32 based on Vawa
August 2020 - status changed on i360 “We approved your petition”
October 2020 - received my Approval notice (don’t even ask, there was so much confusion with my address, the first notice got lost, I had to request the duplicate, that’s why it took so long to receive it)
January 2021 - Status i360 changed to “Correspondence was received and USCIS is reviewing it” - my attorney said it might be because we updated my address, and that’s how they acknowledged it
11 of March, 2021 - RFE for medical exam to be mailed in
23 March, 2021 - Medical exam results sent
18 May, 2021 - “New card is being produced” status change on i-485!🥳🥳🥳🥳
26 May, 2021 - Greencard is delivered by USPS
no interviewQueens, New York City
I hope everyone else will get their approvals and cards being pending very soon!
I am so overwhelmed with happiness🥳🥳🥳
Wow congratulations! You’re so lucky! It went really fast for you!

Hi everyone! So I’ve reached out to a Senator about helping me to inquire about the renewal of my EAD and I-485, I was told that it’s still within the right timeline. About my I-485, I didn’t received a response. I am devastated that I was turned down by a job that I wanted to apply just because of my status. I wanted to reach out to the Ombudsman. What did you guys do?

Hi everyone! Good news. I have my interview on May 17th, 2021!!!!! For context I got my VAWA approved back in June 2020 (filed in April, 2018) and I applied for my AOS, EAD and AP in November 2020. My lawyer told me is sooner that she expected and I'm so excited. I have to get a new medical but not sure it'll be ready for my appointment 🙃. Has anyone had a similar experience? How long does it take to get the approval given the circumstances? Does not having my medical delay the process???
Thanks!
Congratulations! What State did you file from?

I see that a lot of people are waiting - I honestly have no idea why. I know a woman who had domestic violence charges and got approved the same day and then at the same time some people without any issues have to wait for months. I am also trying to switch jobs and my EAD expired and now I'm on extension and the HR just doesn't get it why I still have no green card lol
Same situation here! Filed since last Sept2018

С09 is free and I know quite a few ppl here got it after VAWA approval. C31 is $410.However, there's a chance your C09 will get denied, because you're technically supposed to apply for C31 after VAWA approval. I personally chose to pay and apply for C31 to be sure I don't break the continuity of my employment.
True,I applied last wk. hopefully it’s quicker this time

Hi everyone,
I wanted to share my journey.
I filed my paperwork in Dec 2018
prima facia given in Feb 2019
work permit issued June 2019
Approved in 360 Vermont March/April 2020
work permit issued March 2020
additional work permit issued June 2020
485 sent to Local office September 2020
appointment issued December 2020
Approval for Green Card December 2020 AT THE APPOINTMENT!!!
My attorney went with me to the appointment at USCIS everything was done virtually. The person assigned to my case asked routine questions, then asked for us to put our medical forms in the packet provided. 2 minutes later he came into the room to personally tell us that I had a green card! By the second week of January I had my card.
I know my situation was not normal, but you know what... we got this! I’m now struggling to find my purpose, but I really felt like someone needed this. Your time is next!!
love you all💕
What State are you from? Congratulations!

Hi guys, anybody here who renewed their EAD C31 recently ? Mine is expiring this April 2021 and my request for renewal was sent two days ago. How long did it take to get your renewed C31? I don’t want to lose my job.

Is about the same time. But some mentioned queens is a bit faster.
Ok. So my case was transferred on April 2020. The address listed was USCIS Queens field office but the address listed is federal plaza (?) 🤷🏽♀️

I have 13.5 months after Vawa approval. Local office is Federal Plaza.
Thanks for the info. Is it usually faster than Queens?

Hello Guys, Finally I have an update on my case from NYC, Today my attorney received a notice from Local Office Federal Plaza requesting to mail them my new medical form. This gives me so much hope that I will not be interview, since is the local office requesting medical form and not NBC, otherwise they will just sent me interview date and ask me to bring new medical form with me. Anyone have this experience on local office directly asking for medical and did they received interview after? or Green card was mail without an interview after receiving medical form? Thank you guys.
VAWA Filed 06/2018 approved 12/2019
I-485 filed 10/2017 Put on hold at interview 05/2019
I-693 Requested from local office 02/8/2021.
Congratulations! How many months is your wait from the time your case has been approved?? Which local office, Queens or Federal Plaza?

Hi yes I did ask for help again I contacted the Ombudsman 2 weeks ago no replay and the lastest reply from the Congresswoman is of January 13 2021, my case is waiting to be scheduled for an interview
My working permit and Advance parole will Expire end March and wonder should I wait or renew it
Everytime I renew it I pay $500
And I got laid off December
I 360 been approved since September 2018 🥺
Wow that’s expensive to renew! Mine is due in April. It takes them time to issue work permit though so be mindful about the timeline. Hang in there!

I am in New York
Brooklyn office and got the same letter since February 5 2019
And nothing yet either Seems like NYC is playing with people emotions 😂
For the past year I keep getting the same reply
From congresswoman help
Waiting for an interview when date available we will notify you.
Gee! That’s a looonnggg time! Did you ask for help again for this year? Maybe you should try senator or ombudsman? I did ask AOC for help for my EAD on 2019. Her office responded a week after and then they got a reply from USCIS a month after and then I think following weeks I got an EAD.

In NYC it's usually 10-24 months wait for the interview from what I've seen on this forum. There are people from Queens waiting for 2.5 years, although there was also a person who got their interview after 4 months or so. Since you already have you vaccines (including flu when the time comes) I'd say there's no need for you to do anything but wait. Medicals take 2-5 days to get and expire after 60 days if not used.
Wow looks like Queens office is sleeping! Someone has to wake them up

Guys, I got my I693 deficiency notice. What should I expect the timeline to be next? What should I start preparing?
I was thinking making an appoint for medical a in mid-late March just in case, thoughts?
I can afford to redo them if they expire, I am upto date with my vaccinations, lab can offer discount for self pay.
Hey, I got mine too last July 2020 but I didn’t do anything bec it clearly stated in the notice to wait. It’s either asking me to send them my medicals or going to the interview with it. Waiting game, I’m running out of patience 😩. Are you In NYC too? When did you file?

Hi, all I had my green card interview on the 25th Jan and was approved. So this is how it was. First I should advice everyone to be on the lookout for their mails as my online status never changed from june 2018. I got my interview letter on the 19th of jan and only had 4 days that includes the Saturday (23rd) to do my medicals and God knows how terrified and anxious I was. I only paid $178 (NJ) for my physicals as for the vaccines I used my previous shots ( that I did when I had the ( I-130)as proof that I had the vaccines I only had to do the flu shot and blood work to show my immunity. Luckily again my results were out the next day. Well on the the 25th I went to my interview waited about 56 min to be called in ( I was so nervous kept checking the time,) Finally Am called in. The IO swore me Questions
1. what’s your full name
2. Date of birth
3. whats you’re address
4. About 6 yes/no questions
5. Asked if I have Kids...said Yes 1 IO congratulations
6. Are you still married to this guy. Yes...IO get a divorce from that guy and move on
IO then excuses himself goes to another office I over hear him speak to someone else... am like Oh my God now what... He comes back and asks is this a safe address to send your documents I said yes Sir, then he says well we’re good here if you here from me within a week then it’s not good if you don’t expect a green card in 2 weeks. He says he will look at my file in the afternoon I said thank you he walked me out. I go home and boom you’re APPROVED. Got an email no text updates. That was on Monday then Friday I got my approval letter now waiting for the card.
I could swear it me less than 8min in there it was so fast. I wish everyone nothing but the best and God’s blessings. My file date was May 2018 , No prima facie, I-360 Approval Oct 7th 2020, interview 25th Jan 2021. One RFE , GMC, and proof of abuse.... my only evidence was my written statement and two from friends nothing else, and see what God did. With God everything is possible have faith stay strong.Congratulations!what State are you from?

Hi All,
just had my I-485 interview today at Federal Plaza, NYC
The officer was very nice, most of the time he was just talking to my lawyer about unrelated things
He asked me Yes/No questions, nothing else. He only asked me to show my passport, original marriage certificate and and original birth certificate. Nothing else.
He then said the lawyer made a mistake by filing two I-485s (one was filed based on marriage and one based on VAWA). The lawyer filed it before I found this forum, so I basically had two pending I-485s. He said he will deny the marriage-based one. He also said that I should receive the card in 2 to 4 weeks. He didn't say the word "Approved" and only mentioned receiving the card by mail.
He then wrote a note in my passport with my alien number, status of I-485 (pending), and class of admission.
So far, I saw the status of the old I-485 online (case denied) but nothing for the VAWA-based I-485 today
Congratulations! I’m happy for you. Can you please share your timeline? I’m an NYC filer too
