  1. In 2018 I used PassportVisasExpress

I remember it being kind of expensive. But, they sent a courier to the embassy to drop off the information and then to pick up the Passport/visa, then sent the Passport (with visa) back to me via overnight Fedex.

I was satisfied with their service (there were no unexpected surprises and they sent me back a 10 year multi-entry visa).

  2. My wife filed her i751 in August 2021 and has a NOA (i-797) 48-month extension letter. It is at the YSC service center.

She is going to visit (and help care for) her elderly mother for a few months (international travel). I cannot go with her because of work requirements (high school teacher here).

We had an interview for AOS. So, I am hoping the ROC interview will be waived.

If they require an interview and schedule it for while she is visiting her mom will I be able to reschedule it?

If they approve and mail her new green card while she is away will she still be able to return/reenter using her old/expired green card and i751 extension letter?

Finally got my interview date for Nov 12th! Hopefully everyone gets theirs soon 🤞

For K1 filers, are you guys getting another medical physical here? I'm checking online resources there's mixed advice. Some say it's better to be safe and get another one just in case.

Our interview was September 10th in Charleston. We did not get another physical done (her physical in China was from August 2019).  It never came up during the interview. (I guess the physical she took before her K-1 interview was OK/acceptable because the officer never mentioned the physical and we received her green card).

We did the Medical exam last week. So now just waiting for our interview in two weeks. Eek, I really hope it isn’t a virtual interview and we can actually sit in front of the officer.  Has anyone had an in person interview recently? The IPad video thing just sounds impersonal.

Our interview was in Charleston, SC on September 10th. It was in person with the officer.

That might actually be a pretty good explanation. The furloughs are hanging over their heads for months now. On and off and on again. So they might have never scheduled the full capacity they would be able to do even with Covid because they always expected to not have many people working.

According to a few articles I read online they were required to notify the 70% of employees that would be affected by the furlough 30 days in advance. I can only speak for myself. But, if I anticipated being furloughed in a few weeks I would probably have other things/concerns on my mind that would prevent me from operating/functioning at peak efficiency at work.

Aside from possible slowdowns (not necessarily intentional...just from the situation/pressure/other) why would they schedule many interviews (especially for dates in September) not knowing if they would be there to conduct the interviews?

I kind of figured that (if the threat of furloughs was removed) things would proceed rapidly once the USCIS employees had some reassurances/certainty that they would be working in September and that they would have adequate staff to conduct interviews.

I do expect some slowdowns, though. I read that they have instituted some severe/extreme cost cutting that negatively affected contracted workers/services. (I included a link below to one of my sources.)  That will probably cause HUGE wait times and delays if you try to call the contact center for information about your case... (And other delays based upon steps/things that utilize contracted services/workers.)

My only question for this is, after we print it and fill it out, do we send it to them through physical mail? and if it's by physical mail, what is the exact address to send it to?  I totally forgot to ask this on the phone.  Any insight would be great. Thanks.

Page 2 of the form tells you where you should mail (or fax) the form to. (The address and fax number depend upon the state you live in.)

Due to the IRS being a completely braindead entity I am unable to get my current year tax transcript. I still have my prefilled tax FORM and return on credit karma but for some reason the ID identification isn't recognizing my student loan, auto loan, or any loan that I have and has kicked me out from trying again to another 24 hours. I'm about to break down into tears because I know that I won't be able to get this document no matter what because the on the phone service is suspended indefinitely.

    What to do?! !?! ?! ?! !? !?

I ran into a similar problem. I was able to get past the step you were on with one of my credit card numbers. Then it wants to verify the phone number by sending a text message with a unique number. No matter how many times I tried I never received the text message with the number I needed to enter...

I found a paper form that can be filled out and mailed or faxed into the IRS to request a tax return transcript. After I read the 'fine print' I found out that it would not work for me. (I filed my 2019 taxes. But instructed them not to pay the amount due until the new deadline, July 15th. According to the IRS web site they will not produce the tax return transcript for 2019 until a few weeks after you actually pay the amount due. So I have to wait until approximately the start of August to request my tax return transcript for 2019.)

But, here is the URL to the IRS's web page that has information about form 4506-T, the form you can use to request a tax return transcript. Hope it helps you:

    https://www.irs.gov/forms-pubs/about-form-4506-t

There is another form they mention, a 4506-T-EZ

Since I was unable to request the transcript at this time I didn't look into details about the differences between these two forms.... Here is the URL of the page at the IRS that discusses the 'EZ' form:

My green card arrived in the mail today :)  Such a relief to be done with paperwork for a couple of years!

    Congratulations!!! That is awesome news.

I keep checking our status. But after they canceled our interview and changed the status back to "Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview" it has not changed again, at least not yet. I still hope that they will issue my wife's green card without an interview.

But, I don't want to set my expectations too high just in case they do not do so.

Thank you! 🙂 My interview was supposed be today in a couple of hours.  I would love nothing more than that pleasant bite on the butt 😂🤞🏽

To walk to the mailbox and feel my greencard inside... to share that news with my husband... to have feel secure knowing I’m allowed to stay for 2 years, that I’m allowed to work, travel and could soon amend my health insurance to a much better policy.. just the sheer relief of this chapter of my life coming to a close for a while, WELL... it would surely be a dream come true. 🌈😍🌈🙏🏽🌟🙏🏽🌟🙏🏽

We can relate. Our interview was originally scheduled for this morning.

been watching from the outside since sarge released this exciting info. I’m aos via b1/b2 visa. So far no word on whether anyone who has filed under b1/b2 has been granted the waiver but hopefully someone will. I was unfortunate enough to have my interview scheduled for March 17. With no indications that the interview would not happen ( official statement was made March 18th and the website was saying my office was operations per usual) only to be told by security that the office was not going to be holding any interviews. But hoping to hear someone with my type of aos lucking out on this waiver too!

    Good luck!
