I remember we received the biometrics appointment for Sacramento like a week apart.  We never applied for the N-400, but my husband got his GC on 10/2/2023.  We were totally surprised.  No interview needed.  Hang in there.

After hearing nothing since February 2022, we got a huge surprise in the mail today.  We got the I-751 approval letter and the 10-year green card.  No interview or any RFEs needed.  Yay!  It was a total surprise, since we never saw it on the USPS Informed Delivery emails.  What a great start to October!

We will eventually file for citizenship (N400), but it's not a priority.  Good luck everyone!

It hasn’t been always easy, but for me, it was pretty fast. If you’re still waiting, stay strong, your time shall come!

    Many blessings to you all.

Had my N400 interview yesterday. It went great. Approval on the spot. Today I got the notice that my Oath ceremony will be on Sept 19th. It's hard to believe I am almost done!

    Howdy everyone!
Today I woke up to a status update: my N400 interview has been scheduled!!! August 30th at 8:00 am!!!
Anyhow, I was planning on bringing my copy of the 751 package, and updated evidence of the N400 from the time Of submission, and of course the documents they request in the letter. Any suggestions are highly appreciated!!

Tomorrow is my 40th birthday, this feels like a good birthday present. FELIZ CUMPLEAÑOS A MI!!

As some of you may know, I applied for my 751 back in February 2022. My N400 has been pending since February 2023, and it has done nothing to "unlock" my 751. It has somehow been the message in VJ that the N400 speeds up the 751, but I just wanted to throw a word of caution out there and say it is not necessarily the case. So don't have high hopes when you submit the N400 and spend close to $800.
At this pace, it seems that none of my files have connected to each other, and that my 751 will run its natural course as if I had never submitted the N400.

Same here.  IIRC, you and I received our biometrics appointments in Sacramento a week or two apart in February.  Since then, we've heard nothing.  I'm not expecting any updates until Summer 2023.

Hi!  You beat me to it.  Lol

So I think we may be the first of the January 2022 filers to do the biometrics appointment. Maybe?  I don't know.  But YES, it was quick and easy!  Our appointment was at 1pm today, and we were a Code 3.  The office in West Sac was very easy to find; lots of parking.  We saw several people going into the building, but my husband said it was very quiet inside.  Not busy at all.  He got called up right away.  He had to fill out a basic form, show his 2-year green card, took a couple photos, and then fingerprints.  The lady had to the fingerprints a couple of times, because maybe his fingers were a little sweaty (who knows - definitely no nail polish remover though).  My husband was in and out the door in about 10 minutes. He didn't have to show his drivers license or passport.

Good luck to you next week!

Nope, and I don't expect it to come automatically anymore.  We called the local SSA office.  My husband is not in the system.  We have to apply in-person; not even mailed-in original passports are allowed.  In California, there is no tentative date for the SSA offices reopening, so we have no choice but to wait.

When your names don't match on your documents i.e., green card or EAD and your SS card it can be a real problem doing anything as your names MUST match all your IDs (at least in my state), coupled with the virus situation and all the SSA offices being closed it forces us to do things we would NOT normally do. I also sent my wife's original documents GC SS card and marriage license to our LOCAL SSA office via USPS we sent it certified registered return receipt mail.

As our local office is just around the corner the documents got there within a day or so. Keep in mind that some local SSA offices might have certain days when they will receive mail our office was Monday, Wednesday and Friday ( I did not know this before hand) needless to say the documents arrived and processed and as the local SSA office said they did return the documents to us safe and sound, but they did not use any form of tracking or certified mail. Had I known that it might of changed our minds about sending the documents. We were on pins and needles until the documents were returned ( we did not have to submit a passport though only the GC, SS card SS card application and the marriage license to verify the name change.

Some offices in some states are doing limited special face to face appointments, some like my office is closed tighter than a drum. No telling when the offices might open for regular face to face business again and we could not just sit back and wait so we went for it. It worked out fine. This will be a decision best made by you I can only give you our experience. Were we leery, yes very, were we scared YESSSS very scared, but we chose to suck it up and go for it, as you will have to decide. It's a gamble yes of course it is!!!!

I am in the same situation I arrived into the country March 14 and still have not received my SSN card, I called my local office and they said it's not new for them to get these inquiries that only 50% of the times it works when you check the box on the DS260.. they also said there isn't much I can do but to wait since all office are closed around the country.. that if I did not get the SSN card within 3 weeks I am not gonna get it, I need to go personally to an office once its open.

Yeah I didnt want to risk not being able to fly and my visa running out. It’s really difficult and challenging, most companies  like I would have imagined have freeze their recruitment. So looking for work it’s really hard, I guess we will have to wait until everything is back to normal.
The SSa office in my state is open, they just practicing social distancing so no appointment.

Hopefully it is a temporary delay due to this temporary (fingers crossed) situation. I will let you know if there is any progress on our side, will you please do the same?
