Hello!
im actually dealing with this right now. I crossed the border in January with my 2018 civic and just temporarily imported it. I had to get an auto loan with my new bank (Alta one in California) which was a pain because they needed a 14 day per diem of the loan from Honda Canada, which doesn’t exist in Canada, the best they could do was a 5 day per diem. Your bank should work with you and try their best to make the loan happen because they want your money though haha. The loan got finalized Friday and they’re sending it right to Honda. Hello everyone!!
got my SSN in the mail today, 9 days after my appointment at the social security office (there was a holiday within those nine days also). Happy that I can get a bank account, credit card, insurance, etc!

Definitely Uber! I like being able to see the name and details about the driver that you wouldn’t get if you were in a normal taxi. I also didn’t personally want to risk contact with a bunch of extra people by taking public transportation due to COVID

got my SSN in the mail today, 9 days after my appointment at the social security office (there was a holiday within those nine days also). Happy that I can get a bank account, credit card, insurance, etc!

Finally received my ssn today. Still waiting for my GC. Hopefully everything will be fine and I won’t have to contact anyone. If not well they will hear me in a month.

Everyone is in the same boat as you. If you didn't have an obvious reason to expedite when you started this process I don't see how restrictions that affect everyone changes that.

"On January 26, 2021, we mailed your new card for your Form OS155A, Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration, Receipt Number IOEXXXXXXXXXX, to the address you gave us. If you do not receive your card by February 10, 2021..."
...apparently after sending the case inquiry message on the 23rd, the case was updated with "Your card is being produced..."

A heads up in case it's helpful for anyone getting their medical completed at Dr. Cheema's office in BC: I was originally offered an appointment for January 25 but since my interview is on February 1 I kindly pushed a little and asked if they could squeeze me in sooner as I've been seeing that some applicant medical results aren't being received/processed by the Consulate in time for applicants' interviews despite being sent electronically. They were really accommodating and scheduled me in for January 20 instead, which should be enough time!

It looks like our 2020 DQ list may be all scheduled come May, opening the door for 2021 DQ folks (when we hear of any?) to be scheduled the same year they get DQ--another step closer to "normal."

My husbands work is being so tricky with insurance, I might not even be able to get added until the end of the year because apparently moving to America isn’t a big enough “life altering event” to be added to his insurance

Echoing @jackanddeona it isn't the move, it's the loss of previous insurance. Mine lost his insurance as soon as he activated his visa at POE. Here's a basic overview from WikiHow (read Method 2),"The United States government has made it law that health insurance companies must allow a special enrollment period when qualifying life events have occurred. These life events can include getting married and losing other insurance coverage (among other things).")

Usually it's the loss of insurance that works? You lost yours when you switched residencies.
