Where did you find that info?
You can see that K-1 AOS applicants are not on the list of categories eligible for a waived interview.
https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-7-part-a-chapter-5
This policy change was put into effect by USCIS Policy Alert (PA)-2018-04 on May 15th 2018.
Do you know of something different?

Hi I would like to ask what step do I take next after Notice of acceptance letter?
There will be about 4 months between NOA 1 and NOA 2 for your K-1. It looks like you're already a month into it. That means you get to relax and live your life for a little while. After NOA2, your petition will go to the NVC, and then the embassy (which will probably be around May/June 2020 for you). Until then, you should be helping your chances of success by reading all the applicable guides on Visa Journey and staying up to date with the progress of people who petitioned the same time as you...

Front-loading is optional. You certainly should NOT delay sending in your AOS application while you accumulate more front-loading material. You will have plenty of opportunities to present that material at your interview, which will be many months in the future. And because everybody gets an interview now, it's not as if front-loading will give you the chance of being interview exempt (like it would have a couple years ago).
If it makes you feel better, you can add the optional things you currently have. Just get that package to the lockbox without unnecessary delays. Good luck!

Sent forms I-485, I-765 and I-131 on October 8th
Received date for all them October 11th
NOA1- for all forms on October 17th
Finally received letter from I-765 EAD for biometics appointment on 12/13/2019, scheduled for 12/30/2019
I have heard nothing back from I-485, when you check website it says Fingerprint Fee Received. For the other two forms it says Case Received.
Any advise?
You are correct to be concerned...you will ultimately need biometrics done for both the I-765 AND the I-485 (as you already know). From what I have read, you won't be able to convince the field office to apply your biometrics to both forms. They will only take your biometrics for the form(s) listed on your appointment letter. Some random time after that, you will either receive a second appointment letter OR you will receive a letter stating that the USCIS has decided to apply your I-765 biometrics to your I-485 application. You can call and talk to a tier 1 or 2 officer, but it's unlikely that they will be able to straighten out your situation. I think you're back to waiting after your 12/30 appointment. But at least you know what to expect now.
Sorry if that was confusing. Good luck and keep us updated.

What?? Isn’t the bio letter supposed to come within a month? Mine came almost immediately and my appointment was like 3 weeks after noa1
Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way for everyone. Those that got their biometrics step done quickly and smoothly should be grateful. The rest of us have no option other than to wait. The USCIS is a bureaucracy, and waiting is part of the game. If you read through the MAY 2019 AOS FILERS posts, you would see that the majority of them had to wait about 100 days to get their biometrics appointments.

Is anyone else out there STILL waiting for their biometrics appointment letter? We have an I-485 NOA date of October 17, and haven't received ours yet. We seem to be in the minority of people that are still waiting on that step. I know of one other October filer that's in the same situation. But as of now, it seems like the vast majority of October filers have moved past the biometrics step.

Historically, it looks like they increased fees on Dec 23 back in 2016. Not sure if that's a date they consistently use on fee increase years.

Hello everyone, thank you so much for being a great resource for everything. Quick question, we filled out I- 485 on October 9 and got our NOA 1 on the October 17. We been waiting for our finger printing letter ever since. It’s been 53 days since any update. My question is it normal to take this much time. Should we call the office or should we wait out and see?
thank youWe have the same NOA date as you, and we haven't received our bio appointment letter yet, too. I don't know if it's normal to take this much time, but you're definitely not alone. We called the USCIS a couple weeks ago...they weren't able to give us any useful information. Still, you should try to call them. They will open a service request for you.

Hi Guys, we have received an RFIE 😓 for form I864 saying we dont meet the income threshold although we do. They are asking that we obtain a co-sponsor. I will keep you guys updated
Sounds like the USCIS gave you a generic response which shows that you didn't document your income the way they want you to. We all understand how frustrating it can be to get RFIE like this. Your choices at this point are any combination of:
1. Send them more proof of income
2. Get a co-sponsor
3. Get help from an immigration lawyer
You can definitely find VJ posts from people in a similar situation here. Personally, I am planning on choosing only option 1 if the RFIE shows up in our mailbox. Good luck and let us know how it's going

Almost a month now that I recieved my NOA nothing in mail since then.
You should update your VJ timeline to show your NOA date.
We filed a few days before you and got our I-485 NOA dated October 8, and we're STILL waiting on our bio appointment letter (just like you). We did call the USCIS last week to ask about it. We talked to a tier 1 agent and filed a service request over the phone. The USCIS said they will respond within 30 days, but I suspect the response will just tell us to keep waiting. It sucks seeing everyone else get their appointment letters while we wait, but waiting is just part of the deal with the USCIS. You're not alone.

The Notice Date on our I-485 NOA is October 17. It's been more than a month, and we still haven't received our biometrics appointment letter. Is anyone else in a similar situation?

Ok thanks, going to do that. Question. On my i-797/notice of action that am sending in my file, say valid from 6/27/2019 to 10/27/2019. Does it mean my i-797 is expire and i cant use it in my filing
Are you talking about the i-797 for your K-1? If you are, then the validity dates on it do not matter anymore...you can include it in your AOS package, no problem.

Hi All
Just a question or two
Early this AM(around 12:30am ish) I received 3 text messages from USCIS saying they received my case.
However the first two texts had different receipt #s but the third text gave the same receipt #s as the first two. So I only really received two receipt numbers but I sent off for AOS, EAD and AP. I haven't received the hard copy of the receipts just yet.
I know you can email the lockbox support to ensure they received the package I sent, but will they tell me if they received the AOS, EAD and AP?
Also should I contact USCIS about receiving the third receipt #?
We got all 3 receipt numbers in the same batch of text messages. I believe most people have a similar experience.
Go on to the USCIS website and use the CHECK CASE STATUS tool to determine which forms they have received. You will enter the receipt numbers when prompted. That will tell you which of those 3 forms was not assigned a receipt number.
Then you can decide if you want to wait for the third receipt, or start the difficult process of finding out what is going on.

On I-765 for EA, should we check No for the box 14 for SSA to issue a Social Security card? We currently have our paperwork submitted to the Social Security office so we don't want to confuse anything, but not sure if it helps or hurts to check Yes on question 14.
It doesn’t really matter what you select for that question. If you ask for an SSN on the I-765, they will see that you are already in the process of being issued your SSN, and you wouldn’t receive a second SSN.

do you or anyone else know if it's best to wait for SSN, or submit AOS now since it could be days (or maybe weeks) til we get SSN.
Don't wait for your SSN. There is no advantage to having your SSN filled in on your AOS forms. Get your package in the mail as soon as you are confident everything else in it looks good.

Here's our updated timeline, for anyone losing faith...
Oct 5: Sent K-1 AOS package using USPS Priority Mail Express with Signature Confirmation
Oct 8: Package signed for at Chicago Lockbox
Oct 13: Credit card charged for $1,225
Oct 18 (at 12:43 AM): Multiple USCIS texts with 3 different receipt numbers (I-485, I-131, I-765)
Oct 21 & 22: Received 3 different NOA letters in the mailbox
We're pretty excited to be past this step. Now we can relax a little. Good luck to everyone!

Sent our packet last October 2 via UPS. Packet received by USCIS on October 8. Payment via credit card too, but it still hasn’t charged us. Did you have to call your bank to give them a heads up? I’ve read from a previous post that the transaction was declined as the bank thought it was fraudulent.
I didn't make a call to pre-authorize the card. TBH, I didn't want to risk confusing my bank (US Bank) and making the situation worse.
Our charge hit the card yesterday, but as of this morning we have still not received any notifications from the USCIS.
To paraphrase what I said before: All of us October filers need to be patient...I'm sure the USCIS employees are overwhelmed with the huge amount of "beat the deadline" packages AND the blocking of the public charge final rule.

Our credit card was charged today! Finally some movement on our AOS package since it was delivered 8 days ago. Apparently the USCIS didn't go out of business 😉

Good morning everyone.... has anyone received anything yet? like text messages or email, or have their checks been cashed as of today?
Still nothing for us as of this morning

We mailed our AOS package on October 5 using USPS Priority Mail Express with signature confirmation. The Texas Lockbox employee signed for our package on October 8. Nothing has happened in the 7 days since then; no charge to our credit card and no text/email notifications from the USCIS.
We are trying to be patient, but it seems like something should be happening by now. To all the other VJ members that are in a similar waiting situation, I just want you to know that you're not alone. We'll all get through this together.
My personal theory is that the delays are a result of some chaos in the USCIS due to the public charge rule being blocked.

Can you help your fellow VJ'ers out by giving us some more details about your birth certificate RFE? What did they claim the problem was with your original submission? Thanks, and good luck on your journey.
