I just got the message about card being sent to me and i was wondering how i could get the tracking number cause i need the package to be held at the post office to pick it up cause the building i live has no doorbell 😪 but thank you for giving me an idea on how to get the tracking number cause i can chat from work and get it 💁🏽‍♀️♥️♥️♥️

Yeah the live chat worked great for me. I started talking to Emma and then requested to talk to live agent or asked for live chat. After that they asked few questions to know what i had Questions with and connected me with a live agent. After you get the tracking you can put in drop off instructions. Not familiar with how they work but i know they have that option.

  2. Hey guys. Wanted to share some info that I found to be helpful. So our status changed to "Card was mailed to me." However there was no tracking number. I found out that there is a way to talk to an agent through live chat. You basically go to the USCIS site and go to the chat with EMMA. Then type in talk to live representative and she connects you with one. The representative was able to get me our tracking number. Seems like our card should be delivered by 10/4/19.

Go the Notice of Approval Letter in the mail today. Has a neat "welcome to America" message. Interview 9/19/19, Status changed to "New card being produced" on 9/26/19 and changed again to "Case Approved" on 9/27/19. No info about whether the card was made yet and when it will ship out.

Status changed to “card was mailed” on 9/30/19. No tracking number

Thanks!  We had something along these lines and a friend signed it but who knows?  Been hearing that USCIS is not finding a paragraph like that signed by a random person (friend, yourself, etc) acceptable and they want it “certified”.

We got in touch with a USCIS immigration officer but they claim they can’t see what the RFE is for until after two weeks when you can do an e-Request. I’m frustrated because we sent TONS of evidence so I figure they lost something.

i delayed my long-term business trip. Don’t feel comfortable leaving while this RFE lingers and we have do way of knowing what they want.  Would a RFE for just a I-485 also delay the EAD and Advanced Travel Parole?

Yea might as well just pay for a certified translation and not stress about it. They usually charge like 20-30 bucks and can do it quickly.

My wife translated hers and signed them herself. Just a statement saying she had a working knowledge of both languages.

That is what I did with my Birth Certificate. I just put the proper New York language and signed it.

I do hereby certify that I am competent to translate from ______ into English, and that this document is true, accurate, complete and faithful word-for-word translation of the original document to the best of my knowledge and belief"

Sounds like we are basically in the same situation. Is your i-485 status now 'interview complete and case needs to be reviewed'?

Our status is still "Interview Was Scheduled'  The interview went well in my opinion, but the agent said she will need a few days to get the report back for biometrics and then she can make a decision. She took biometrics again at the interview. Interview was on 9/19 and no changes as of yet. Not sure why they would need to run a backround check again after doing one back in May.

  7. We had our interview today at Queens Field office. App for 12. Came at 11:30. Called around 12:45. Interview lasted about 15 min. Asked about how we met. Asked about how i became A citizen (im the USC). Took wifeys biometrics. About when she came here. When did our relationship start. How many times i came to visit. Asked me why didn’t i mary Wife while i was I her country. Was generally a calm and pleasant interview. Took pictures that i printed Out. Gave her additional documents i brought. Agent said that she needs to wait for biometrics check to come back and she will make her decision then. At first said she needs few days but then said it could take up to 3 weeks. I think Everything generally went well, except would be nicer to get a decision right away. (Aos from K1)

Hey everyone. Brooklyn based, filed I-485 on 6/4/2018, ready to be scheduled for interview since 7/25/2018. Yesterday we received notice that an interview has been scheduled. We have not gotten the actual letter yet though so I don't know when and where. But this is a pleasant surprise and in the best case scenario, I'm able to receive the GC before 9/19/2019 which is when I'm due to explain to my employer how the 6 month EAD extension works :) Would be excellent to just get to skip that step!

You can call and try to reach a tier 2. They have the ability to tell you when your interview is. Our status changed to interview scheduled on 8/8/19. Next day my wife called in. Asked to speak to tier 2 because we had a vacation planned in September and needed a heads up to see if we needed to cancel. Tier 2 officer. Called back about 2-3 hours later and told us our interview was for 9/19. We received the actual notice on 8/12. (Queens field office)

  10. Got the interview letter yesterday in the mail. Has a long list of what should be brought to the interview. One of the items is the petitioners birth certificate. I was Surprised by that because  i thought We only need something showing that I’m a citizen. For the i129 We used Copy of my passport. But on the interview notice it specifically says petitioners birth certificate AND proof of citizenship. I have My birth certificate but will have to translate it. Going to translate it myself and have my signature notarized. The notice also basically says to bring in everything that was submitted previously to USCIS. It is a bit annoying but i guess It’s better to be over prepared. I find the notice to be very vague as to what is important and what is not.

Whoa! How did you do that!? 😯😯

Wifey called. Usually the tier 1 can’t see what the interview date is. Atleast that’s my understanding. Told the wifey to ask for a tier 2 and say that it’s important for us to know the date because we have a vacation planned in September and need to know if we need to cancel. So they took her info and she got a call back few hours later.

Yes, truly. I'm hoping because it took so long from the time our Biometrics were completed that this means they scheduled it. I got an email from USCIS saying:

"If your case status indicates that you are currently in this step, you have either been scheduled for an interview or are in line to be scheduled for an interview. The amount of time your application will remain in this step will vary by office and is largely determined by the number of cases ahead of yours. The interview notice will have specifics about time, location, and anything you will need to bring to your interview."

Oh cool. I didnt Get that email. Fingers crossed.

So after almost 2 months later after biometrics were done our status changed from "fingerprint fee received" to "Ready to be Scheduled". Hopefully this is good news to come! 🤞

Seems like a lot of people getting this change this week. I got So excited when i saw that status has changed 😂. But now not sure how long we can be stuck on this status. But Atleast we know that it’s unlikely that we will get a request for documents.
