simplykay reacted to Shamwow in Interviews in djoubti 2017
Assalam alaikum. I'm happy to let you know I recieved an email from the consulate that my wife was approved for a waiver. I'll be heading to Djibouti soon to receive it. Is there any advice that I might need that you guys know of?

There are 2 here i know who interviewed and got visa within 3 months. I know who you are talking about. Both had a medical condition. One more who is not here got a visa after a 4 month wait. This one had no exceptions. But very very few 2018 interviews have gotten visas. These are the only 3 i know of and i do a lot of research on this. Many who got are 2017 interviews. So by that meausre i beleive we should see 2018 interviews get visas in 2019. Assuming the backlog does not make it worse.

Thanks for the support sister. It is good that you are not under the ban; it is a process I would not wish for my worst enemy!
Just an update on my case guys: I contacted the embassy via email asking for a status update. The response I received is that it is still under administrative processing and it might take some time. Let's hope there is light at the end of this dark tunnel
Do not hesitate to post any updates here, especially the positive news

It starts right after interview. All aplicants go through it even those approved. There are different types of AP. We are in the worst category

ok guys i need more further explanation on this some people have been in administrative process more than 7 months that even they are not under the travel ban is been so confusing we never know when we will get the visa for e.g. after research they keep saying the timing will vary based on individual circumstances of each case what does that mean and yes for e.g. i never travelled to any of the ban countries i have stayed in the same country for many years without traveling anywhere else i cleared my police certificate ... twice once nvc and once during my interview so what are the chances i want to know those who been saying that its been administrative process for the last 9 to 8 months are u guys having travel history and all please i hope you guys understood my point and ur replies are will be helpful

For a few of my family members, they got that waiver consideration email back in end of May/beginning of June and one of them (17 year old) was told to redo medical, dropped off his passport and already received his visa about 10 days ago and the other has redone the medical and waiting for them to tell her to drop off her passport.
The visas they’re giving out don’t expire fast like before so inshallah the kids get their visas soon so they can come in with the mother. Alhamdullah there’s hope for everyone because. I honestly thought that’s it, they’re not giving anyone anything. Sure it’s takes way longer but there’s hope at the end of the tunnel.
Yes, they ask for passports to print visas.

Hello everyone, I would like to make this thread as a support group to those impacted by the Travel Ban issued by Trump. PLEASE, if you are not in this category, no need to comment here because we do not need any negative energy! A lot of us are US citizens who cannot even bring our spouses! We do not need to be lectured about how good such a ban can be!
If you are affected by this ban, feel free to ask anything!

I know a guy whose wife interviewed in January and received the visa in May. We interviewed end of June and we are still waiting!
