As always I'm hoping those waiting on RFE responses get approvals this week!

Okay. We have old website update for RFE mailed on September 22!!
 
However. He just received mail back from USCIS in a Manila envelope with BOTH our birth certificates. No other letter. Has this happened? I’ll post in the big forum later if need be. I’m a little concerned. Yes, we were idiots and sent originals. Is this why? Because I thought they destroyed (according to the form) them instead of going to the effort of mailing them back.

My fiancé received our NOA2 in the mail yesterday!!  It looks so polished and official.  
 
It’s coming for all of you soon.  It may just be a piece of paper, but it’s such a NICE piece of paper.... 😃
 
I wanted to post an image of it, but it looks so nice and made us so happy that I want you all to have that same feeling and sense of pride when you see it for the first time 🏆
 
Also, the received date is the original from the OLD site (Jan. 18th) and the approval notice date is Sept. 14th.  
 
I didn’t get the update on the phone app until Sept. 17th and both websites, when they finally updated, also said the 17th. 
 
So your approval could be on its way, ready to make you hearts dance RIGHT NOW!!! 💃🏻❤️🕺

I cant believe my eyes!!! I was texting when I received a alert on the tracking app and Im approved!!! Now I dont what to do hahaha I feel overwhelmed hahaha. Its like now what??? I can express my happiness and my grattitude first with God and of course with you guys for listening to my complaints. This journey is exhausting and I feel more anxious now! But thanks here is my timeline. 
Package sent Noa1: January 10
package Received; January 12
Noa 1: January 18 
Rfe: September 4 
Rfe sent: September 10
Rfe received: September 14
Noa 2: September 21

OUR CASE GOT APPROVED 
As per USCIS old website.
NOA1 (Old Website): December 26,2017
NOA1 (New Website): December 29,2017
NOA2 : September 14,2018 ( After 262 days)
Both websites have been updated now.
Received the physical letter yesterday.
Very Very happy to join you all in NVC stage.

Ah I see, when you said upset I thought you meant they were angry with you. But maybe there's a little bit of that too. It's always sad when you're losing someone, even when you want to be happy for them and know that this is what they want. 

Let me point out a few things. DOS = Embassy. At the Embassy beneficiary will meet face to face with the adjudicator known as the CO for the first time. This is the time that they can physically draw fingerprints from the beneficiary. They then use those fingerprints to check the DOS systems for the true identity of the individual and any history of visa fraud and or the character integrity of the beneficiary. That's pretty much all the "background" checks they do. NVC is not involved at this stage nor do they have responsibility for any background checks. If in their reviews prior to issuing a case number NVC can and do at times, send the case back to USCIS to correct any deficiency(ies).
 
So NVC does not do background checks but USCIS and the Embassy does.
 
The article was most informative and I appreciate the link. I think that if every petitioner and beneficiary were to read that document this room would be silent as there wouldn't be any complaining. Ah shucks, did I just say that. I know, there will always be complaining.

Anyone found it hard to tell family the news? I finally did it today. It cut me up to see them upset even though they want it for us, sometimes this process just feels selfish. Anyone ever feel like that?

I got an email today from POF confirming that they are not an IMB - a little late, but still appreciated.  After seeing that email, I checked my USCIS phone app and it said APPROVED - I almost fell over lol
 
There was no update on the new site, but the approval was on the old site.  Go figure 😝
 
Apparently it was approved today and if it wasn’t for that email, I wouldn’t have checked. 
 
So keep checking everyone, even if you haven’t received a notification!! 😎
