I'm almost certain it doesn't. And until/unless average processing times for AOS get well under six months, I'd be in the camp of strongly recommending applying for AP even if it did slow things down a little; it can be a long time from EAD/AP approval to green card, you don't know what will happen between then and now, and what you think is an emergency may not match with what USCIS thinks is an emergency.

My NOA2 was issued September 14th.
 
I emailed the NVC with that link on October 3rd. 
 
Today I got a response with my new case # and they said I would be notified when my case is sent to the assigned U.S. Embassy/Consulate General.
 
Every case/country will probably have a different timeline.
 
If you have already emailed, just wait and you will eventually get a response.  After waiting 8 months for the NOA2, a few more weeks is no big deal, right? 😉

I just got my name-only police check in the mail today and I was feeling so great about it being the LAST thing I needed....
 
My interview isn’t until January, but with the holiday season fast approaching, I have to get on this NOW.  I hope my small town PD can handle this request ugh

I followed the superb advice from @Greenbaum and @Duane & Haney and emailed the NVC my information, requesting that they inform me of any status updates.
 
There’s no way I could deal with the phone thing.

Yesterday my status changed to "Ready"! 
 
Even better news, i went to check whether any earlier interview appointments were available. Must have had God on my side as i found one for the 7th of November. Hopefully make it over there for thanksgiving now! 
 
This process takes time and is incredible frustrating but when you stop stressing and realise that its not really in your hands its so much easier, trust me. Good luck to all still waiting

Yes after so many months of waiting I just want everything to be done..
We wanted to get the case number to be able to schedule the medical appointment. 
But it will all be God's will. 😇

Well guys at 10:30am this morning I received a txt msg.....to log onto the website that action had been taken on my case...... WE ARE APPROVED! thank you JESUS! thank you to everyone for there kind and supportive words in my days of feeling hopeless  30 days after Response to RFE we finally get to continue on our Journey! @Snuffles @Lucy&Jason @fern28 @radharose  Pls forgive me if I forget to tag anyone I am over JOYED with EXCITEMENT right now!

I’ve emailed him all my passport stamps, itineraries, passes etc for him to print. We have one of our notarised letters saying we met, and waiting on the other person to write and hand to fiancé so he can mail. Hopefully by end of this week?? 

Thanks, @Lucy&Jason Fiance is visiting me because it was taking too long. He bought the ticket and lo and behold, the approval came!! We're so excited!!

After waiting 254 days, today. We got approved!!!!!!
No RFE. Single letter of intent, no TOS for website where we met online.

My fiance got his visa approved on September 18th, and VOH September 25th! I'll be flying to the Philippines next month to see everyone (my fam and his fam) and come back to the US with the love of my life. ❤️ Just sharing with Y'all  ❤️
