ErickandLeo got a reaction from Total500 in August 2019 - AOS Fillers!
just an update: sorry late post
interview date: February 12, 2020
we arrived in the building 1 hour early but we entered the USCIS premises 30 minutes before our interview at 12:45pm
we’re not approved on the spot the IO told us that our case needs a further review eventhough she’s telling us that our application looks good to her. First we need to take the oat, and after that she asked me about anything in the Form I-485 and then signed. She also asked the “Yes or No” questions and then the crazy part is that she told us that whenever she ask a question, she will look to any of us and that person where’ she’s looking needs to answer her question ended us laughing because we’re like in a game show😂 but that was tough so better review everything about your spouse, their family and special events on your life as a couple. She told us that if do we have any document to submit and we submitted our health insurance, joint bank statements, car insurance, life insurance, bills with our name together, copy of 401K as beneficiary, credit card statement with my name as supplementary, lot’s of photos of us together from the day of my K-1 visa approval to Feb 2020. She also asked my husband’s income tax return but we’re not filing yet instead we handed to her the W2. She browse our photo and asking who’s with us on a certain photos and she encircled the photo with my husband’s parents.
She also asked us about if do we have a joint lease? we said no because we’re still living in an apartment with my husband’s parents.
Are we paying a rent?
how much is the rent?
any plans of moving out?
how many rooms and bathrooms does our apartment have?
how many persons in a household?
Do we have an engagement ring?
Where did you propose?
do you have a ring?
When did we get married?
Where?
Who’s in the ceremony?
Reception where?
have you seen your parents-in-law?
where are they?
what are their names?
favorite restaurant?
future plans together?
i forgot the others sorry
Interview last for about 45 minutes and after the interview, she gave us a paper about the Removal of Conditions and the 3 of us signed that paper. No approval so we left the building quite puzzled 😂
and after 37 days

Just finished our interview in Portland OR. It went nice and smoothly and the officer was very nice. Mainly asked us about my employment and husband's (applicant) new job. I have a new job since we applied, she asked if there were any changes to my affidavit and I provided her w a new I-864, letter of employment, and 3 months of paystubs. She also added husband's job info to our I-864. She then asked for any addition evidence of relationship and went through our new photos and shared bills and such.
She said she hadn't received the packet from when he entered the U.S. yet, that it should take about two weeks to arrive and that she would approve our case as soon as it came. We are currently on case under review status. Hopefully that will all go smoothly as well!

My interview at Boston for AOS from a K1 Visa went well.
We had the interview in the morning.
We were very nervous, so we decided to arrive very early but they didnt let us to check in until 30 minutes before the fixed time for the interview.
We went to the cafeteria upstairs and had a nice cup of tea ...
The USCIS officer asked the petitioner (my husband) to come first for the interview and he asked my husband to handle all the new documents to him.
I waited ten minutes in the waiting room.
I noticed the officers were asking the beneficiary to come before the beneficiary to the office.
Then my husband left the office. Then the officer asked me to come in. I was in his office no more than 10 minutes.
He asked 3 questions to us: 1. where did we meet? (I met my husband in Boston). 2. how did you decided to married? (he proposed in Boston and I told our story), 3. Who made coffee this morning? (He did). I noticed he was checking my answers with my husband´s answers.
Then, he proceeded to ask me all the I485 questions. I made a joke to him.. He asked me: have you kidnapped someone? I said Yes: my husband´s heart. He laugh.
After that, I was very comfortable. He told me on the spot: I will aprove your Green card, and he explained to me about the two conditonal-year and that I must apply 90 days before the two years deadline for removing conditions.
I was so happy that after I left the officer office I told my husband WE GOT THE GREEN CARD and we kissed and had a hug ....in front of everybody
After that we went to the restaurant where we had our first date, engagement dinner and marriage celebration.
Oh WAIT....
He did ask my husband whether he had a new document to handle, we did provided our joint financial documents etc.
And GUESS what!
He never asked me about the vaccination update.
I just realize that after leaving the building, so I had to return and handle the sealed envelopwith the vaccination information to him and he said never mind.
And GUESS what!
He did ask about current job situation of the petitionary and we explained the situation and he didnt put a lot of weight on that.
While we were walking to our favourite restaurant my husband almost cried.
What a journey!
I checked the USCIS website after leaving the interview, and it said: Card Being Produced.
Relieved! 💞
We both have learnt a lot from this journey indeed.
Still scared and I wont belive it until I have the green card in Hand.

Today we had our Interview. We are August Fillers. We had our interview in Boston, MA.
Our appointment was at 2:30pm but we arrived early because we were both nervous. We arrived about 1:30pm but was told that we couldn't check in until a half an hour before. We checked in at 2pm.
Once checked in, they called us up to a window for my husband (beneficiary) to get his fingerprints and to take a picture of him. After that was completed, she told us what door to wait near. At about 2:40pm we got called in by my Husband's name (which was strange because everyone else was getting called by a number). I asked if I could join and she said yes.
She had him raise his right hand and swear he was telling the truth. She only went over our i-485 packet about our names, DOB, address, and a few of the yes or no questions (have you committed a crime, prostitution, any arrests, hurting or killing people, espionage, ). She did not ask any other questions and did not ask to see any other documentation besides his passport.
I am the petitioner (USC) and didn't get asked a single question. I ended up answering one of his and she told me only he can answer. We were done by 2:45pm and she told us she approved us and we should be getting a card in the mail in 2 weeks. At 3pm, I got an Email that a new card was being produced on the USCIS website.
I don't think this is the norm based on reading every other single review of the Boston Office and that she didn't want to see any evidence or ask me any questions. I did see other couples get called in separately though. She just said we will need evidence at our 2 year interview.

Green Card approved!
Our interview was at 10.30am this morning at the Queens, NY office, we were done by 10.55am.
We got super lucky, the officer had visited my hometown in England so we all just chatted and joked about it.The officer only asked 3 questions: he asked my husband where I was from (which lead to the chat about my hometown), asked us both how we met and he asked me where my husband worked. He didn't ask to see any pictures or evidence. The only thing he asked to see was our marriage certificate because he couldn't find it in our file (he found it later).
He told us we were approved and I should receive my Green Card in the next two weeks. SO relieved that I will make it home for the holidays.
