Another step closer. Status changed to 'Recommended for approval...' to 'Oath Ceremony will be Scheduled' over the weekend (surprised to see USCIS working on weekends). Hoping the oath ceremony will be soon. The IO said they sometimes call people instead of mailing out a notice if the oath ceremony date is too close for the mail to arrive in time. Fingers crossed.
However no movement on the status for the I-751; but I'm not too worried about that. The N400 is more important and we had the combo interview.

Application submitted today! My husband has been eligible to apply for about a year now, but we needed a break from USCIS, lol.

    Had my interview today.
It was one of the first ones of the day, so we didn't end up waiting too long. The IO was really nice and personable. He conducted the I-751 interview first with my spouse. Asked us a few questions about how we met etc. Then asked me a few questions about her family. He approved it and we gave a few updated bank statements etc. as updated support. He then moved on to the N-400 interview, my spouse was able to stay in the office. He asked me 6 civic questions (got them all right) and then I had to write out one sentence. He asked a few questions from the Yes/No list and then had me confirm the spelling of my name etc. He said I've been approved, but he has to approve the I-751 in the system first before he can approve the N-400 so I will see the status change online and will be mailed a letter for my oath ceremony.
Can't believe this journey is (almost) over.

If you really live in NYC/NY she didn’t have to leave. You can’t just kick someone out, you have to go to housing court. I wish she would come On visa journey so we can advise her. You clearly are abusive.

    No.
But the day I kicked her out, after confronting her about her cheating, and after I gathered the screenshots from her phone, she refused to leave and was deny her cheating.
She’s an extremely stubborn and unwavering person, and she customarily would never listen to me, so at one point to compel her to leave I broke a mirror with a baseball bat and I pushed her, all of which she recorded, all the while repeating for her to leave and her refusing.
    Until she finally did.
So the video is useless to her, by her own estimation, cause it shows her refusing to leave.
Also, she had numerous health screenings for her HHA certification and for USCIS purposes and she was always healthy and with no signs of abuse.
I just know that she’s a documented liar now, and I don’t trust her at all.
She still maintains she didn’t cheat and that I should hear her side of things. This, in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary from two of her phones.
So yes, I worry about worst case scenarios of a demonstrated desperate person doing desperate things, at all costs and at the disparagement of anyone.

Very excited to share an update on my case (Milwaukee WI) - interview has been scheduled!
    Timeline:
    - Elegible to submit N400 application: Aug 18, 2022
    - Submitted N400 application online: Sept 15, 2022
    -  Interview was scheduled notice: Nov 11, 2022
    - Interview date: December 20, 2022
    * no updates on my I-751 in over 12 months, not sure what to expect on that.
Wishing everyone else good luck! It seems unbelievable that this could take around 3 months after how long everything else has taken.

Good news, interview has been scheduled for December 12! Incredibly fast!

I decided to check the myUSCIS account today, despite not getting a "We have taken action on your case" email, and was surprised to see that they had scheduled the interview as of November 8! Best part is the the notice with the appointment details is available to view there in the account, so we don't have to wait for the mail.

Strangely, it's still estimating 9 months for a case decision (up from 8 months last I checked).

Someone can visit, get married, and then pursue the CR1 spouse visa.  The foreign spouse will need to return to their country on or before the end of their authorized stay.

None of this matters. What your mother in law is doing is considered work, taking a job from someone else. It's illegal, it doesn't matter how much money you've spent on her visit.

According to FDA , it should be fine to just have her doctor/pharmacy/ family member just ship the meds and include a copy of the prescription, MIL s passport / visa page and US contact numbers.

I recall @JeanneAdil dealing with buying medication for her MIL when she was visiting the US. They had to pay few hundred dollars if I remember correctly.

The way I see it is that you have two choices:  you buy medication here and pay however much it costs or cut the trip short and fly your MIL back to Colombia

B2 is for tourism, coming for 6 months to look after a baby whilst the parents are at work so they don't need to employ someone else could very well be considered working. I wonder what she said as purpose of visit when asked at the POE.

Use the money you saved not having to pay for child care costs for her medication.

Does this mean we will possibly get combo interview for her RoC/N-400, or what has been some of the experiences?

Supporting the immigrant doesn't mean that the sponsor has to agree to have live with them. We don't know the discussions that took place before during or after the process… what options were offered or discussed.  Knowing extended family relationships .. there was probably quite a lot of unspoken expectations and plans  in many minds and hearts. Clear communication in a timely manner doesn't always happen 😓

Past is gone , done .. chance to start again .. and get a happier result hopefully

The I407 is a statement of relinquishing the previous green card   It is filled and submitted by the GC  holder .. your mom. Its like submitting a stat declaration that your drivers license was stolen or lost so that the DMV will issue another one… because you cant have two at the same time .. well legally you cant .. It keeps the process “clear” and the paper trail complete.

Problem is that the USCIS doesnt actively review every GC holder to verify that they they are still maintaining their status. Its only reviews when something triggers it .. hence comments in here about trying to renew it, trying to return if its still valid but been outside US for years .. its this grey space that is murky, unpredictable no mans land .

Theoretically the I 130 should be returned unprocessed to you because their records will show that she has a GC.. albeit expired .. but an expired GC is only her evidence of status .. people often forget to renew it after it expires but if they have maintained the requirements they still LPR. USCIS would come back to you and say “ Renew the card using I90”   But you know the situation with doing that

Filing the 407 clears up this ambiguity for her and confidently opens   the way for you to petition for her again
