Sooo we just got notice my wife’s interview for naturalization has been scheduled. Case received on Oct 11, 2021… notice of interview scheduled on Oct 24, 2021. They moved WAY faster than we expected!

What resources or interview prep question lists do you all recommend for her to prepare? She is hitting the studying hard now.

Congrats and good luck! That was fast! https://www.uscis.gov/citizenship/find-study-materials-and-resources/study-for-the-test You can get the 2008 study materials on the USCIS website.

This is correct. You can apply early, they can take your biometrics (or reuse them), and they can work on processing your case but they will not interview you until after you have reached your 5 year mark.

It will typically take a week or so for you or your lawyer to receive your receipt notice.

This is misleading. They can actually interview you and approve your case anytime after you submit the application, assuming you meet all the criteria and have been / is still married to the US Citizen. Due to timing and delays, your application will most likely not be approved within the 90 days window. USCIS  does not  have to wait until your 5th year Greencard anniversary to interview/approve your case.

    straight out of DHS https://www.dhs.gov/publication/uscis-processing-concurrently-pending-forms-n-400-and-forms-i-751

All the rights and privileges that apply to lawful permanent residents, however, apply to conditional residents, including the right to apply for naturalization. Also, pursuant to Section 319(a) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, the spouse of a citizen may naturalize after residing in the United States for 3 years after becoming a lawful permanent resident, rather than 5 years as generally required. Lawful permanent residents who are eligible to naturalize under this provision of law may file their N-400 applications up to 90 calendar days before they complete their 3-year permanent residence requirement. All the other requirements for naturalization must be met on the day of filing the application. Due to the lengthening of processing times for I-751 petitions, both a request to remove the conditional status and an application for naturalization may be pending at the same time, which creates operational and adjudication issues at USCIS”

Hi everyone, In one of my trips out of the us I didn't get a stamp coming back, the immigration officer at the time said it was electronically, will that interfere on my interview since I won't have the stamp proving I was back in the US?

I believe that you can always retrieve your travel history using the I-94 link above. I travel a lot and have not gotten any stamps on my passport (if that makes you feel better).

  4. That’s a tough one.
You mentioned that  you “didn’t find about your son until recently”, how long were you guys separated? Clearly it was more than 6 mo. Or are you referring to you having another son with a different woman?
Sounds like you two have never lived together.
your best chance is to tell the whole truth to the officer and hoping for the best. You and your attorney need to come up with a game plan for the worst case scenario : like starting from scratch.

Does anyone know what the next step after this is, do they send a notification that we mailed your card or do they mail it. Also for those who have got their cards , how long did it take for you to get it after the status changed to approved

They will notify you when the card is mailed out and will provide you a tracking number upon UPS approval & receipt of the envelope. If you have informed delivery, the tracking number will also show up on it. Overall, depends on your location,  it takes btw 2-5 days to receive the card after shipping

Finally! We got the biometrics waiver: "As of May 28, 2021, fingerprints relating to your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, Receipt Number LIN21900*****, have been applied to your case."

For those wondering, we are late November at LIN.  Most from early Nov at LIN had their biometrics waived in January, then they jumped to the Jan/Feb filers. I am glad to see some movement for those of us between early-Nov and Feb.

Good to see some progress. Still waiting for biometrics here LIN2190083***

    Hey

My green card expires jan 22nd. They only recieved my application dec 26 after I sent it November 30. :( im so stressed 😫. Have you heard anything yet? Im worried about renewing my driving license which also expires Jan 22. It sounds like I won't have my noa before then if it goes by how long others have been waiting.

I called again this afternoon and the USCIS rep  gave my case number. I haven’t received the letter in the mail yet.

  8. I decided to call USCIS this morning. Surprisingly, the waiting time was less than one minute. The agent couldn't find any receipt number in the system and advised me to email the lockbox support. So, I did... but received the automated email blabla. It's clear now that we won't be hearing anything until 2021. I-751 was received on the 16th. My GC expires this week. Happy New Year Everyone!
