  1. Hello! We just received our documentartily qualified email this morning so I think we now belong in this group. We are now waiting for an interview date for the US Embassy in London. We may have missed the May appointments already but we are definitely glad to be in the queue.

  2. Good Morning! Received my documentarily qualified email this morning at 4:45am PST.  3 weeks after having the same document rejected, it was approved with a letter from the court. I’m glad to be moving on to the next phase. Hoping things move quickly for everyone here.

It's a nightmare trying to get these records. He first was told he had to request them in writing so he wrote a letter up and handed it in personally. They then told him he had to be registered first. (He moved back to London from Goole and never registered) They said they're merging with another company so it may be two weeks or so to get him in the system. He keeps getting the run around but I have a feeling it's going to be harder than normal since he also had depression years ago and will need a letter in addition to his summary records.

But I really hope they accept his Memorandum of Entry as the Conviction with the emails showing that's all they have.

Sounds like an absolute nightmare. Also sounds like you are trying to do everything in advance. That’s exactly what we did. But I truly think it depends on how much experience the agent that is assigned to review your documentation has. Basically luck of the draw. If the letter works in my case...maybe you can request a letter from the courts and upload it as well.

Our process has been pretty smooth up until this point, for which I’m extremely grateful, now to just get passed this very peculiar hurdle.  At least with the memorandum...you can watch my case and if it works, use the same process. Save yourself some time.

Hopefully all all goes well for you guys.

Yes I hope so! It's crazy how long everything takes. Right now, I'm having a hell of time getting the medical summary...

Yeah...my husband too! First they sent him records from the time he was 3. HUNDREDS of pages. Ummm...well  thats not gonna work. We asked for the Summary Care Record and they have no idea what that is. We showed them the link from the NHS website on how to get it. Nothing. We JUST got something 2 days ago...it’s 10 pages long but we’re like, that’s probably as close as we’re going to get. So we just let the Visa medical office know at the time we made the appointment that his report is 10 pages and we’re good to go.

I also needed a Memorandum of Conviction for my fiance's juvenile case. He had to pay 25 pound and they gave him a Memorandum of Entry. I asked if this was all they had and they said that the Entry was the same thing as the Conviction and because is was 10 years ago, every else has been destroyed. I'm going to submit the e-mails showing what we specifically asked for and them telling me this was all they had and hope it works.

I think including the email is the best thing to do. My case has now been forwarded to a supervisor...but get this, supervisor review takes up to 6 weeks! What in the world?!

But the letter from the court that I uploaded today could be reviewed and rejected again or deemed case complete within 3 weeks. So at this point we just wait and hope for the best.

Hopefully your document gets approved! Positive thoughts right?

Ok I'm really concerned now. Nvc has had my case for 8 weeks. I call every week and still no case number. Today they said my case is in Administrative Processing and there is no time frame and no information they can give me!!! HELP!!!!

This exact thing happened to me 2 weeks after my case arrived at NVC, before uploads and before a case number was even assigned. Freaked me out too. I posted here and everyone said it was normal. Unfortunately that doesn’t make us feel better. I called back 2 days later... no more Administrative Processing. I received my case number at 6 weeks. Might I suggest that you call back and see if it still shows AP?

That is really strange.  I can't speak on the C-1 process as we haven't been through it. For our K-1, we had a police certificate of No Live Trace, so we asked for a SAR report and handed that in as well at the interview stage. We were subject to a 221(g) and additional administrative processing, but we were not asked for any further information. Looking back, I'm as certain as I reasonably can be that what they must have done was contacted the court in question and asked to confirm the information. It was issued in due time (about 3 weeks with Christmas and new year in between).

For the Adjustment of status we have added court records , but what we were emailed (and paid for) was literally something that looks like it's been scanned out of a 15 year old book and signed, it doesnt say either Memorandium of Conviction or Entry.

Hopefully we don't get an RFE.

Thanks again for responding. At the NVC stage it asks for the police certificate and if any conviction exists you need to provide court records. (See image) Court record guidelines are country specific, so depending on where the beneficiary lives, the document type varies. Attached is an image of what the UK finds acceptable “usually called a memorandum of conviction”. Usually means not always. Which means there is obviously an exception to the rule, right?

I’ve gotten a letter from the court (attached) and hopefully it clarifies things. I’m just annoyed that we could have and SHOULD have had a case complete days ago.

I’ll let you know how things turn out.

Is this for the K-1? I've never seen these required at this point in the process. Have you also given them your police certificate and Subject Access Request results?

Thanks for responding. We are CR1. We submitted the police certificate which was accepted and we submitted both the SAR and the memorandum to which we were referred to this like of acceptable documentation: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/UnitedKingdom.html

I called and spoke to a representative who assured me that the document needed to specifically say Memorandum of Conviction. The court has agreed to provide us an official letter saying this document IS there version of the Memorandum of Conviction but I seriously doubt they will accept it. So I’m definitely at a loss

  9. Hi! Has anyone had to get a Memorandum of Conviction from the Cardiff Magistrates Courts?  We received an email from the courts that said “Attached are your two official memorandums of conviction” however the actual document reads memorandum of entry. We submitted these documents to NVC and they were denied because they didn’t say conviction. We called the courts and they said they do hundreds of visas and all bodies accept the ‘memorandum of entry’.  Now we are stumped. See attached email language and document title.

Any insight would be most appreciated.

    Any case close today?

Nope. But we were soooo close! Today we got an RFE, they accepted all of our documentation except 1; court records. They directed us to a list of acceptable documents, the document we sent was in the list. The email from the court says here is your certified memorandum of conviction but the actual document says memorandum of entry so now I’m stumped. I have emailed the court again to see if perhaps they gave us the wrong document. I’m bummed because now the wait has been extended. I’ve had the record for over a month...had I known it was unacceptable, I would have been working on it.

So 6 weeks at NVC and still no case number 🙄😞

I’m right behind you. This Friday will be 6 weeks for us. NVC received our case on 1/25. Funny thing is...I’ve called for the past two weeks and have been told all the information is in the system, they are just awaiting a case number. I guess we should be relieved that we only have 2 weeks or less of waiting for a case number

  12. 9 minutes ago, SM&RM said:

That’s what I was thinking...Lol I would just be so happy someone at NVC was looking at my case. My case was received on January 22nd, so I’m right there with you. It won’t delay your case. They do security checks and a lot of other checks at the NVC level.

Awesome! That’s what I was hoping to hear...that it’s normal. Thanks again...I think I was assuming that I would hear, ‘give us 8 weeks to assign a case number’, but to learn that not only are they are already reviewing but it is in administrative processing threw me off a bit. I’ll give a call in a couple of weeks and see how it goes.

    Hope you hear something soon...

This is a normal process at NVC. All cases go through AP. It is after the interview that AP can take a long time depending on why the case was placed on AP.

Okay, thanks so much for the reassurance.

This entire process is pretty stressful and can make a person quite paranoid.

Are you thinking it shouldn’t prolong the process by much then?  I guess I should be happy that they are even reviewing my case seeing as the received it only 1 week ago.

  14. Good Morning! I’m hoping for a little insight.  I just called NVC just to see if a case number had been assigned and was informed that the case is now in administrative processing. To be in administrative processing even before being assigned a case number can’t be good. It also seems as though (from reading the experiences of others) this process can last months. Has anyone else experienced this?

FINALLY got through to NVC after a couple of days of being on hold for over an hour... NOA2 was Dec. 21st, sent to NVC on Jan. 10th, and NVC says they just received it today and I have to allow up to 8 weeks for them to put it in their system and give a case number!!! Craziness...

Agreed! Craziness indeed. How is it that USCIS sends us, the petitioner mail and we receive it in 2 days but when sent to other government agencies it takes sooo much longer!

Well I too just called NVC and they confirmed they received our file today, Friday, January 25th and that I should allow up to 8 weeks to receive my case number.

At least we’re on to the next phase. 8 weeks is nothing compared to that first 6 month or more wait! However, I’m still hoping it takes as little time as possible!

  16. Good Afternoon!

I think that I officially belong in this group now. NVC just confirmed that they received my case today, Friday January 25th and that I should allow up to 8 weeks to receive my case number! Looks like 8 weeks is a real thing...doesn’t mean I won’t hope for less!

Congrats to you! Good luck with NVC. Am with Texas Service Center, NOA1: July 25th. Am hoping mine will be next soon. Its really our time now!

I’m sure it will be! Maybe give them a call next week. I called the automated line and it just gave me exactly what the website said...word for word, that my petition was received on July 11th and that was it. I called back immediately and got a live person who then told me the petition was approved!!

  18. 24 minutes ago, TheJamess said:

It shouldn’t take that long. My approval was Dec 15th and it got to the NVC Jan 4th. Check the NVC in a few weeks. I think they tell people x amount of days, not to get our hopes up. But then again my service center is Potomac so the time could be different. Either way, check the NVC in a week!! Good luck!!

Thanks for your response! 3 weeks (Dec 15 - Jan 4) sounds way better than 3 months!!  I will definitely give the NVC a call in a couple of weeks.
