MrsJudithWilde got a reaction from Sweetdreaming in NATURALIZED - I-751 (Divorced)
Thank you for your kind words! I never would have done it without this site's help. Thanks to much WISE advice from VJ, I did not hire any private law firm attorney for my I-751&N-400, saving a ton of $$$$$. Special thanks to @Crazy Cat (yourself) & @OldUser.

MrsJudithWilde got a reaction from ChrissyCO in APPROVED - I751 (Divorced) & N400 Combo Interview
I arrived by myself. The officer spent nearly an hour reviewing my submitted material while I was in his office. He did not greet me and had scowls on his face the whole time.
Questions asked for I-751:
When did you get married?
When did you get divorced?
Why did you get divorced?
Did he meet your parents?
Did you meet his parents?
Did you get a chance to study for your citizenship questions?
Questions asked for N-400:
U.S. History & Government:
1. What is the economic system of the United States? Capitalism
2. Who makes federal laws? Congress
3. What prevents any government branch from becoming too powerful? Checks and balances
4. What is one right that only U.S. citizens have? To run for federal offices
5. Name two U.S. holidays. Presidents' Day; Memorial Day.
English:
1. Read this sentence: Where is the White House
2. Write this sentence: The White House is in Washington D.C.
Lastly:
Routine questions are asked such as are you willing to take the full oath of allegiance.
I was given N-652 and the officer pointed to this sentence:
"Congratulations! Your application has been recommended for approval. At this time, it appears that you have established your eligibility for naturalization. If final approval is granted, you will be notified of when and where to report for your naturalization ceremony."
The officer then escorted me out of his office. I later ran into him in a plaza while waiting for my bus to go home.
Case Status changed to:
May 8, 2024 Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled We placed you in line for your oath ceremony and will send you a notice, with the date, time, and location of your oath ceremony. You should receive your notice within 30 days of its mailing date. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address. -

How is NVC related to this? This is naturalization / removal of conditions case. No visas, no embassies involved.

MrsJudithWilde reacted to OldUser in I-751 Approved in 7 Weeks
No surprise, you have a slightly complicated case - I-751 with abuse waiver. Those cases have a higher bar compared to folks who have joint I-751. Good luck with the interview!

I was pleasantly surprised to wake up to an approval email for my 1-751 submission this morning. I was totally not expecting it as the average timeline is currently around 2 years.
Just wanted to share the happy news 🙂 and thank everyone here for the support through this immigration journey.

Ok
Jan 1 2019 to Jun 30 2019 is 181 days including Jan 1 and Jun 30.
The day of departure from U.S. and day of return to U.S. count as days in the U.S.
181 - 2 = 179.
I am not seeing the problem. File N-400 in 2023. September 20, 2023

I would file an N-400. That moved wife's I-751. Four months after filing, the I-751 and N-400 were both approved. Just my courteous opinion.

1. continue to be passive
2. file N-400
3. file writ of mandamus. See the posts by @igoyougoduke

MrsJudithWilde reacted to da95826 in I-751 Pending for 2+ Years
No I don't think so, it took 2 years plus for our i751 to be approved and I think our n400 application may have kicked it to an interview.
Hang in there, Sacramento field office/NBC/California Service Center are slow.

MrsJudithWilde got a reaction from SalishSea in I-751 Pending for 2+ Years
Hello. I filed my I-751 on December 16, 2020. I just got an I-551 stamp on my passport.
Does it seem like the USCIS is secretly planning to deny my I-751?
