  1. Good day everyone! I really need everyone's help here. My mom wanted to apply for tourist visa but here is the situation:

My mom and dad got separated, filed for annulment 2006.

"I think" my dad got married here in the US before the annulment got finalized. (PH is processing this too slow)

My mom was with someone but never got married to this person. Technically she's been single but was still using my dad's last name.

My mom just claimed the finality of their annulment in order for her to change all her IDs and passport BUT she needs to submit this to Philippine Statistics Authority to update her information. This will take 3-5 months.

So my nephew (his mom is my sister) I-130 got approved and he's underage so obviously he needs to travel here with a guardian ASAP. My sister couldn't pick him up due to her busy work schedule. This is why we want to have my mom apply for tourist visa ASAP; she doesn't want to wait for the confirmation from PSA that her status got changed. She will still move forward with her passport with my dad's last name but will bring a copy of finality just to prove that she is no longer married to my dad. Now, the question is, are they going to dig down to my mom's background during her tourist visa interview? I mean is there a red flag here? Should we proceed with our plan? She will be very honest during the interview of course but will need to explain the situation.

We just don't want our dad to get involve with this because they still hate each other, we don't want my dad's citizenship to be at risk, if any. Probably y'all asking why we can't just petition our mom, I know it will sound weird but our dad is not allowing us to do that. He will disown us if we do that. That is how he hates my mom so much.

Please I would really appreciate your help on this!!

  2. I hope everyone had a great long weekend! We went to Sedona, AZ for the weekend and enjoyed every minute of it. Went home yesterday, wasn't too excited because of the 7hrs drive but guess what, we got an email saying our card is being produced!!! FINALLY!!

Question: How long does it take to have the card delivered? From Card produced to mailed your card?

    Thanks!

Hi! I was planning to do the same thing, online inquiry and then call them. Did they tell you why they could not check if you file online inquiry first?

All they told us was since the inquiry was already filed, the case is closed already for inquiry meaning they can't open the case anymore. I believe they do this to avoid duplicate inquiry. I prefer calling them first.

I wish I have my  GC interview schedule soon but yeah I'm already thankful that I'll have my EAD soon and Yes I call them but I drop the call because I waited 30 minutes and still no rep answers my call. then I inquire using their online website last Thursday  they responded last Saturday that I did not file online  but then yesterday (Monday) my EAD status change.

Hi, how did you do the online inquiry?

Being stuck at home with nothing to do is much more difficult than I thought it could be. Good luck with getting the EAD soon! :)

That's what he's been saying and I get him and I feel bad for him. He used to work for 8 years straight, as soon as he graduated from college, he worked right away. He's not used to being at home for such a long time. Thank you, good luck on your journey as well!

OMG guys, we just got the interview scheduled!! 😮 I have to wait for the notice to know the exact date but from what I saw in our thread the interview is usually in one month or so from the day the status changed, is that right? Or can it be much later on?

I did not expect that! USCIS processing times for our office are 7.5-24.5 months but according to VJ estimates some people in KC recently had the interview in 3 months after biometrics. Would match our timeline assuming we'll have the interview in a month or so. Crazy!

Wow congrats! What is your timeline?

Just a quick question Im worried pls help! I received an email listed all the documents that I need to bring on the interview. It doesnt says I need to bring Affidavit of Support (which he already submitted on I-129f application) new intention to marry letter and proof of relationship. All that I need to bring is just my documents like BC, NBI, Cenomar, and passport etc (beneficiary) Do you think we really dont need that on the interview?

Better have everything ready. The CO didn't ask my fiance for it, but we never know. Better to be safe. I know some people were asked to show affidavit of support, I know people also got 221g because they didn't have it when the CO asked for it.

Here are the requirements from the St. Luke's website.  It's asking for both Interview Confirmation and Letter with Case Number (d & e).  I'm just looking for what will satisfy the requirement for the Confirmation Letter with Case Number.

    1. K VISA APPLICANTS
    2. EACH APPLICANT MUST PRESENT THE FOLLOWING:

      1. Valid passport
      2. 1 photocopy of Passport Biographic/Data Page, the page in the passport that contains the applicant's photo and information. Photocopy on short bond paper. Passport photocopy should be the same size as the original, not enlarged or reduced.
      3. 4 pieces recent 2"x2" visa photos (see visa photo guide), 3 for submission to the U.S. Embassy, 1 for clinic file. ALL PHOTOS MUST BE IDENTICAL. Write the applicant's complete name at the back of each photo.

The US Embassy requires you to bring the 2x2 photos for your visa issuance. We regret not to release the medical report until such time that you can provide this requirement.
      4. Letter with Case Number

        • Principal Applicant - original & 1 photocopy
        • Derivatives - 1 photocopy each

If Letter of Case Number was received via email, print 2 copies for the principal applicant and 1 copies for each derivative.

      5. Visa Interview Appointment Confirmation from the U.S. Embassy , if available

        • Principal Applicant - original & 2 photocopies
        • Derivatives - 1 photocopy each
If Visa Interview Appointment Confirmation was received via email, print 2 copies for the principal applicant and 1 copies for each derivative.

      6. For applicants who registered online, 1 copy of the online registration confirmation form
      7. Applicants who did not register online are required to provide the name, address (include city, state, and zip code), contact number, and email address of their petitioner in the U.S.A.

Hi Scott, they can do the medical without the NVC letter. Your fiancee just need to sign a waiver. Just have her print out a screenshot of the case saying "At NVC"

Your fiance's visa should have an expiration date on it (it's probably six months from your fiance's medical). As long as your fiance enters the US before then, it's fine. It doesn't matter if your fiance arrives in the US the day the visa is issued or the day it expires (or any day in between), you still have 90 days to get married. And as long as your fiance files for AOS within the 90 days, your fiance will never be out of status.

    ok great thanks!
