****JUST GOT THIS BY EMAIL*****
Dear Sir/Madam:
We recently received your visa petition. We will send NVC processing instructions within 8 weeks. Please resubmit your inquiry if you have not received any information after 8 weeks.
Yippee!!! So happy right now, we are finally joining everyone on the next stage! 😁😁😁
FYI - Welcome to stay in this group but there is a Nov--> NVC group.

This is what really frustrates me about this process! No consistency and no fairness!
I'm really happy you have your case number but its terribly frustrating when some of us here are waiting a month for the same thing to happen!
lol, the entire process is not first come first serve. Sometimes those lucky few get processed before older ones. Hang in there. It still seems to be a fairly manual process.

Hey guys! I'm here... I have a question, how much does it usually take for a case to be assigned a number? Does it really take up to 8 weeks?
that's NVC's standard response. It's considered their safe zone time frame. But more than likely it will not take that long. Te entire K1 Process is a game of guess-estimates. Hang in there...

Our case just got sent to the embassy!! I hope yours is on the way since we had similar timelines any thread that I should be checking out for NVC-->embassy? I am sure there is one but I couldn't find it...
Sweet! You are almost there. Wishing you well the rest of the way!!!!!!
@Greenbaum might know have the link to that thread.

This is starting to worry me... everyone else seems to be getting a case number from NVC and OCT 5THs aren’t still... 😭
I wouldn't get caught up in comparing cases like this. The process is already quite stressful. There truly is no rhyme or reason to how the cases are processed. We submitted our case before some other people, but they got approved first. I personally think they are understaffed which is the cause for the delays. You'll get the case number soon. The "approval wait" was the most stressful part, and you're past that.
Try to keep busy, it sounds simple but it really helps. Hope they assign it soon. But the more you stay on VJ and see others getting their case number the more it will frustrate you. Hang in there....

Hey all,
Is there an NVC site where we can check our status once we have a case number from them? Kind of like how USCIS? If yes, could you send me a link.
https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx
Select nonimmigrant visa....

@Meu Amor thank you!! I did update it, not sure if it's showing or not... but the NVC issued our case number 16 days after NOA2. I think you're right...I will need to keep busy and just wait for the embassy to receive it. I notice that you and me almost have exact same timelines...fingers crossed our embassy timing is right around the corner
Nice! Yes fingers crossed....As soon as we see that "Ready" status we have everything on deck for the rest of the way....
The date your case number was assigned is blank. Maybe a VJ glitch...

Thanks @Greenbaum !! I don't see much information on the site about Packet 3 and just went to the embassy website. We finally filed the DS160. Do you remember if you paid the fee now or when it reaches the Embassy? One person said that it is too premature to pay the fee and that it is only done-so when the embassy receives your case.
FYI - Also the ds160 I believe is only good for 30 days unless you download it and then re-upload it again. If the 30 days pass and your case still isn't with the embassy, you'll need to complete the entire thing again.
*if you have your case number don't forget to update your timeline*

I'd wait until it reaches the embassy to pay. This way it assures the case got there and it avoids any mix ups with the payment. If you submit a payment they have nothing to match it with. We all can understand your eagerness, but submitting the payment early won't necessarily move anything faster. Just take a deep breath and keep busy. The case should arrive soon.

Reposting this one ☝️ thank you 🙏
The packet from the Embassy should list the things needed for the interview. The items could vary depending on country.

YES!! coming around that home stretch....
I have to say, pretty proud at the way things are turning out. From the moment the idea of filing for a K1 came up, things seemed cloudy. From not knowing where to start to reading every single detail (on my laptop, phone, etc) my fiance and I have been emerged in this process (as I'm sure all of you have as well). Very soon our case will be on it's way to the Consulate. It's never felt more real and true.
Everyone's journey is a little bit different. We've all learned patience (whether we wanted to or not). I wish everyone well in their journey and marriage. Don't sweat the small stuff. Communication is "key" (I can't stress that enough). Remain humble and always, always be grateful. 😘

Yes. The CPF is just like the U.S. Social Security Number so enter your CPF number in that space.
Awesome @Greenbaum to the rescue!!!

Quick question, Does the "CPF" number go where is says, "National Identification Number on the DS-160 form?

Hi All! just been approved, absolutely over the moon. the sites are updated but don't have the letter in hand yet. Is now the time to start filling in the ds160 and sending it off or should we be waiting? i went through the online form and saved it, one thing that worried me a bit was that it wouldn't let me select the berlin embassy? it said it doesn't do k1 visas...anybody have any info on that?
I believe you need the Case number to start the 160. You should have the Financial support docs ready to send to your Fiance.

My fiancé called three times this week and they said they don’t have our case yet. Is this normal? We got approved october 2, he also said the guy on the phone was kinda mad and told him to call back in a week or two. Do they mark every time we call?
You can call as many times as you like....

Yes very normal. The standard answer "if can take up to 6 weeks"

Call again late tonight and then mid morning tomorrow. Batches of cases are leaving this week for the Embassy and in the past we have seen a slew of cases approved the day before.
They send batches weekly or twice a month to NVC?
