  1. Looks like you have everything necessary - I'd enclose the copy of the requirements (like you did here) and email NVC to re-check and process. They could have a new person dealing with an NVC process.
  2. All documents filed with USCIS can be copies - no originals required until interview time.
  3. Who's who here? USC with a medical condition or beneficiary?
  4. There's a place on the form to list all names ever used. Yes, you'll want to include the name change documents - get it translated if it's not in English.
  5. You have listed nothing that would warrant involvement of a lawyer. There may be some additional time in AP, but that's normal.
  6. Getting an unrestricted SS card is something you should've done even prior to naturalization. Either postpone start date until you have naturalization certificate in hand, or be prepared to do some explaining to your HR. Either way, make your way to SSA to remove restriction off your SS number. And the steps for after naturalization: SSA, voting registration/DMV, passport.
  7. Use SS card and driver's license for verification. Employer doesn't get to tell you which documents to show. Hopefully you made a copy/scan of your naturalization certificate before sending it off for passport issuance.
  8. You can use W-8BEN form for those who don't qualify for SSN to add passport number to bank account.
  9. There's a whole list of documents needed for I-130. Did you download the instructions for I-130 form off of uscis.gov? Hopefully you included your marriage certificate as part of filing.
  10. ~Two topics on the same issue started by OP merged. Don't start another topic and keep all question in this one.~ VJ moderation
  11. In that case, look to do surgery in Thailand or Singapore. It will be much cheaper than in the US.
  12. Nothing a lawyer can fix. His father needs to start a new I-130 and you're looking at minimum 14-15 years to immigrate. F3 (married child of USC) category. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-bulletin/2023/visa-bulletin-for-august-2023.html
  13. So what exactly are you missing from your file? What document is needed? Or is this just AP (admin processing)?
  14. Get them what they want if you want the K-1 visa. Original documents are always required for interview and she should've had that with her at the interview - they return the originals back after they make a copy. That's for your divorce decrees.
  15. Naturalize first and then figure out European job/visa. I’ve heard of two cases now that have interview scheduled within 3 months of applying (Chicago field office district). So maybe USCIS is picking up on naturalizations before election year?
  16. Only if you want your relatives who may be into your genealogy/heritage years later in the loop. You can also request a copy of your A-file from USCIS and they'll send you everything they have on you since you started a petition with USCIS.
  17. So only you, the USC is getting deployed? If yes, then just get started now on I-751 (make sure it's the latest edition of the form), and have wife compile the rest of the evidence by the time the deadline to send in the form in comes. You can pre-sign the completed form. She'll include your contract in the evidence alongside the other required evidence - drivers license, bank statements, utility bills, childcare/doctor notes listing both of you as parents of the child...
  18. Your son can't petition him until he turns 21. Even then, he can only petition his father (about two year wait), potentially half-siblings (20+ year wait).
