He's the beneficiary. My parents have been extremely supportive and I just came out to them last year.
Ok thank you! No he's the beneficiary and I'm the sole sponsor.

Out of curiosity, where did you see that?

I got a hold of the memo and read over it and there is so much in there to explain but it has nothing to do with K-1's. Basically if you are applying for a benefit (visa) and you are not eligible for that benefit or you are not using the benefit for it's intended purpose then the adjudicator doesn't have to send you a RFE or a NOID. Just VOID. Done!
But if an application is received with an error or missing documentation then the adjudicator is obligated to complete the entire processing up to and not including the approval, but must combine all RFE's for that case into one request. In the past they may send out a RFE letter then two weeks later send another RFE for a totally different circumstance tied to the original submission. The memo requires them to ask for everything in one letter.
So there are many good things in the memo. One just has to take the time to read for themselves and not rely on CNN or Betty Lou over in the Jamaican thread who is afraid that the sky is falling in on her K-1 visa with the intent that she is going to get denied. Believe it or not the spirit of this letter was promulgated in the Obama Administration. This administration is only trying to get the rules so that they are followed. There isn't anything in there that is made up without a reason now or from the past.
Just my 2 cents.

Haha. Many days it doesn't feel close enough! But it is amazing how fast time has gone by so far!

We're soooo close everyone, I can't believe that in just a few days it'll be August already!

I agree with this but wish/hope they'd use discretion as well. Not that it affects us, thankfully, but for future filers. It's obvious those who put a lot of effort into making it right but made a simple mistake versus those that completely BS the application. For the former situation, it'll be painful to figure out what exactly went wrong and have to start the entire process over. I couldn't imagine.

Based on http://www.visajourney.com/content/times/, they are mid-December

Indeed. I've already decided it's useless to look at the timeline/date. I've gone from late of September to mid September back to late September. I figure it'll continue to fluctuate like that so I'm going to save myself the headache and just start checking when we closer to September. I doubt we'll see any major shift to earlier dates than what was estimated when we received our NOA1. If we do, bonus!

At least for the application, the guide says one or the other http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide.
I feel like if the long form was such a big deal for the petitioner, the guide would have emphasized that.

So my fiancé came to visit me! Thought I'd share the airport experience.
We have a number of events over June and July so decided to risk a 3 month stay. I know it's not recommended but we thought what's the worst that could happen, right? He'd be turned away and we still wait. (He already had a B2/tourist good through 2020).
Anyway, of course he was pulled into an interview at the airport which left me waiting over 2 and half hours for him. I was starting to worry they weren't going to let him contact me and just send him back. But he finally came through and we rejoiced!
He had our itineraries of the trips for over the summer (plane itineraries, tickets, etc). He was of course honest with them from the beginning that he was visiting me, his fiancé, for the summer. The first agent was going to cut his trip down to 1 week because he was just being an ###. What really pissed me off is the agent started joking with his co-worker in front of Alex, calling him an idiot, fool, and someone looking for a "sugar daddy." I wish he remembered the guys' name as I'd do everything I could to report him. I don't know what accountability immigration agents have but, that's just uncalled for, rude, and incredibly unprofessional. The guy continued to laugh and call Alex names while Alex talked to the supervisor. The supervisor heard it all but pretended to ignore it. Whether the other agent's unprofessional comments affected the supervisor's decision or not, we don't know, but he allowed Alex to stay for 2 months (cut a month off). Alex asked him if the K1 visa affected things, if he shouldn't come back until it's all done, if he could come back, or what was the supervisors advice? The supervisor told him that they don't care about the K1, they don't care about the length of time, where he's staying, or his itinerary. The only thing they care about is that he has enough cash on hand proportional to the amount of time he's staying. That could very well just be how they operate at the Houston airport or maybe the supervisor was just making it up, I don't know. But that was our experience.
In the meantime, we're thankful to be enjoying the two months given to us!

Is it just me or have they significantly slowed down processing over the last month?

I think that depends on the county’s laws and politics. I go to El Salvador for 1-2 weeks every month and they don’t seem to give a lick.

Did you include the G-1145 form? That authorizes electronic communication.
They picked up ours on 3/5 and I got an email on 3/12. It was almost two weeks later I got the snail mail letter.

Someone here mentioned all K1's are going to CSC as each center is handling different types of visas.

Did you include the form to get digital notification? I received the snail mail letter almost two weeks after being sent the notice of a NOA1 via email. Submitted on the 7th, email on the 12th.

Hi all!
My Salvadorian fiancé and I mailed ours off March 5th and received the NOA1 March 12th. We were sent to the California Service Center.
At first, we consulted a lawyer. But after seeing the 2500 + fees price tag and reading people's stories here, we decided to do it all ourselves.
It kills me that we have to wait so long for this process! And this crackdown on immigration has me nervous that something will change by the time he may be approved. But, I'm hopeful and very thankful that I work remote so can spend one to two weeks at a time visiting him each month! It definitely helps as otherwise, I'd go crazy.
