S_and_K_K1 reacted to Little_Vixen in Entering US to marry for CR1 questions
There is always the risk of being turned away at the border. It is at the CBP officers discretion to believe you whether your intentions are genuine.
Be honest about your intentions that you will be there to get married and return to your home country to wait out the CR1 procedure. Be sure to carry with you proof that you need to return home, your lease, a letter from your employer that he expects you back ect.
-
S_and_K_K1 reacted to JackG in Entering US to marry for CR1 questions
Just get married in another jurisdiction that has very short resident requirements like 1-3 days, perhaps in the Caribbean. You can both do a short honeymoon and then the wedding is as valid as if you came to the US got married and left. No worry about being admitted and you can apply for the CR-1.

My SO got impatient and talked to tier 2, according to them there has been no change on our case and no reason why we will be receiving a letter. Lol. I don’t think they have a clue what they’re doing over there.

S_and_K_K1 reacted to Yzabelle in St. Luke's sputum test April 2018
Sorry to hear that. There’s a facebook page Visa Harmony. You can inquired from that group, too. For now, just try to prepare for your sputum test, don’t stress out and drink plenty of water. Try turmeric tea, too.. as much as possible try to avoid milk coz sometimes it causes haze on your lungs. Goodluck!

Okay guys....MEDICAL EXAM COMPLETED AND CHECKED OFF THE LIST!!!!!
Reni said his overall experience was easy but that it was a long day. His appointment was scheduled for 8am but due to Kingston traffic he showed up at 9-9:15am (10-10:15 EST). He said that the people were nice and that the doctor who went over his medical history form didn't not persist with on asking him repeatedly about drug/alcohol/marijuana usage. He asked once for each question and he said no each time, so I guess he got the "good doctor" who was scheduled for yesterday's roll call...lol.
They did the normal blood work, urine test and chest x-rays. The did not give him his chest x-rays like they have in the past - the nurse told him that they will forward everything to the Embassy. He said he only needed 2 vaccines which only cost him $7000JMD which is approximately $58.00USD. His total amount he paid was $30320JMD (which is the medical exam fee and the 2 vaccines), which is approximately $245.00USD, which is AWESOME because of course we expected and were prepared to pay more. I would STRONGLY RECOMMEND going to your local doctor or clinic and getting the required vaccines prior to the medical because it is cheaper to do. I had Reni do this 3-5 months ago so the fact he only needed 2 vaccines is GREAT! The nurse provided his DS-3025 without him even having to ask for it and she was kind enough to explain to him the purpose of this form. The nurse was kind of enough to tell him that his medical exam will be there in time for his interview (I don't know if she was just being nice or she is the one that will personally handle preparing his medical form packet to send it to the Embassy considering the Embassy is a couple blocks away from the Hospital but hopefully it will be there before the interview). He completed his medical exam at 2:30pm (3:30 EST).
So our "Grand Finale" is next Friday (April 27th) and Reni and I are on an official countdown to hearing those beautiful words that we have dreamt about since May 23, 2017!!!! I will be flying on Wednesday to be with him and attend his interview!!!!
Thank you all who are still on this ride with us!!!!! We're almost there!!!

guys, i got email this morning that there is update on my case. I checked myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov website and our case is approved, but on the old website - it still says the same thing (received your case on Oct 6th, 2017). The app is also not updated.
Has this ever happened? Is the new website accurate? What happened here?

S_and_K_K1 reacted to AERNESTOC in October 2017 I-129F Filers, Part II
So my fiance and I had been going crazy lately with this visa situation. Like so many of you, we were loosing patience and even faith in the process. We were bickering about the stupidest bs; it's so hard looking forward to a wedding you can't even plan with unknown dates. She has it worse 'cause at least I'm Stateside with our 5 year old (a citizen by birthright).
The stress is overwhelming as all of you here know.
So today I get a notification from the app. Excited at first to see USCIS, a total disappointment when I read that its just that cases like ours are moving forward. Big effin whoop.
But I opened the app anyway and voila big surprise! "Your case is approved." No request for info, just flat out approved!!! Needless to say, we are thrilled.
Hold on there you October filers. Yours too will come. After so many months waiting, these last days are agonizing, but THE ARE THE LAST.
Got to give a shout out to the agency I paid for the process (RapidVisa). A little more costly than filing myself but they have a proven track record and truly won't let the package out of their hands until it's thoroughly reviewed and most likely to be approved. Also being able to pay on an installment plan made things so much easier.

S_and_K_K1 reacted to GP1977 in January 2018 Filers
They are based on scans that people have done. They have tried to do so for December and January but there have been many validation errors and they can’t confirm numbers.
In theory it woukd make sense that the months that have fewer apps get processed faster, however, we don’t know what other applications the adjudicators are also processing. Cr1, h1b, adjustment of status, etc etc. If the adjusticators only did one type of application all the time, then the number of apps would be relevant. Or if the number of all visa petitions across all categories is also lower then yes in theory they get through a month faster but I’m not sure how they allocate staffing resources.

I believe the number of cases in November and December are lighter than the heavy number of October, so we have that on our side too.
