Thanks, for the advice. Do you know in order to apply for the PCC at Passport seva kendra , what documentation do they need? Do I have to provide my letter from USCIS - the NOA 2?

if you got noa 2 then its right time to get pcc and you no need do anything its for applicant only they have to book appointment online for pcc and just normal documents required like passport, aadhar card, driving licence etc which shows photo id's with address proofs.i saw your time line it shows your k1 in delhi its not right cos k1 will be deal in only in mumbai not any where in else.

    Hello Guys,

    Please advice:

    1. Can my beneficiary initiate the process to obtain her police clearance certificate prior to me receiving the case number from NVC? I read at some site that if your passport issue  date is 6 month or older at the time of interview you must obtain Police clearance certificate from your local passport office as well as your local police station. Given the fact that it takes longer for officials in india to get any thing done - would nt it be wise to start the process now while waiting for the case number?

    2. As an agent for my beneficiary, what are the document I need to upload on the NVC site online?

    Thanks for the advice.

In India pcc is valid for 1 year.which you can get from passport seva kendra not from police station.police will visit for verification which is normal process if passport is older than 1 year whole process will take 10 to 20 days its depend on you city and its all depend on when you submit your application and which kind of form you submitted to USCIS and you no need to update any kind of documents on NVC its all being processed by uscis.

My fiance is going to be arriving on the 13th of September.  We have been looking at wedding dates and one we have found with a venue that we like is available for December 1 which is day 79 of her visa.  90 days for us will be on December 12.  Is that enough time to get the wedding license back so that she won't be considered overstaying her visa?

you can go to city clerk office .i hope you can get earlier dates i applied in NY.same day i got my marriage licence and for marriage 15 days that's it .im sure if try you can get marriage dates ASAP.

I'm a Canadian married to a US citizen and was in the US on TN status.  I had TN status well before we got married and we got married in Canada.  I just got my EAD/AP combo card and we're planning to make a trip to Toronto.

I understand my TN status is now no longer valid.  Would re-entering the US using my Canadian passport and EAD/AP card be an issue?

    yes you can.

We received a post on aug 28th from US consulate Mumbai saying your K1 visa is now ready for final processing. We got our I-797 and ceac status is ready. We went ahead and filled and submitted ds-160,  paid fees, obtained pcc (police clearance) and created an account on usatraveldocs. The problem begins here. We are unable to schedule an appointment. Whatever date we select we are getting no appointments available. Please press the back button and choose and new OFC appointment date. The first step is OFC scheduling and next is interview scheduling. OFS shows availability but interview page shows this message. If anyone has faced a similar issue or has got past this issue kindly suggest what course of action we should take? The call center has so far been useless :)..

    Regrads,

    Nacho

It's common for everyone no need to be worry. Try early morning between 8am to 8.30 most of the people got there desirable appointment in that time including me as well. best of luck.

    Hi Everyone,

I am very distraught as I am typing this post. We are about to file for joint petition to remove conditions on October 2018 in about 1.5 months away. I just found out today that my wife is possibly pregnant by another man. I am so frustrated and feel so lost in all this. I have noticed that she has been working late the past couple of months. She started to be cold and distant. When I ask her if she's okay, when I know...I KNOW that we've not been too okay, she says yes or just shrugs me off. We've been fighting and what not. I try not to make a big deal out of things but I have been suspecting that something is off. We loved each other but now, I just don't know anymore. Now this. She finally told me today that she has been seeing this other guy whom she met at an office party. They've been seeing each other the past couple of months and now she suspects that she is pregnant with his child. I can't stand this. I know for a fact that I am not the father, since at least on my part, I have been taking preventive measures because I wanted for us to have our children when I am fully able to support them but not as of now. I am planning on pursuing further education to be able to build a good life for when we do have kids but MY KIDS. I don't know what to do.

I don't have time to even drag my feet to take all of this in, because we have an I-751 soon that needs to be filed. I'm not sure if delaying divorce proceedings would cause me to end up paying child support for a child that isn't mine. I have no hatred against the child if she is indeed pregnant, but I also can't jeopardize the future life of me with my own kids. And I don't think I can longer stand to be hurt repeatedly with all the lies and betrayal.

How should I proceed with our I-751?

Will I end up paying child support for a child who isn't mine even if I do a DNA test and if divorce is finalized before she gives birth? (given that we do decide to get divorced. this is too much for me.)

Can anyone shed some light in this matter? I would greatly appreciate it.

sorry to hear that about your situation.you should consult with immigration lawyer as well cos you are the beneficiary MR CABLE.Divorce may be effect on your case severely as well.Think twice before taking any step as other vj member said baby could be yours if you having sexual relation ship with your wife which is obvious.

This is not true. My husband (then-fiance) applied for a SSN the week after our wedding (3 weeks after arrival into the US) and received his SS card two weeks later. However, he needs the EAD to actually work.We just got notice about receiving his EAD card this week. He applied for it 4 months ago.

First of all congratulations for your husband's EAD card. I got comment from other vj members here about SSN they said they tried different offices then they got SSN during k1 coz someSSN officw don't make SSN until you got EAD like me. we tried but they deny and you are lucky you got EAD on time otherwise you can see few members applied in February and still waiting. I applied in April too in early dates before you. You can check my timeline.

Well not sure what their issue was then.  Most people apply right away before marriage and don't have issues.  But the SSA is notorious for having morons "helping" people.

Yeah I think so coz I just got update from vj member who said same thing happen with him as well but they tried with three different offices then finally he got SSN

    Hi
Inaccurate information. K-1 visa holders are allowed to apply and receive a SSN within 90 days of arrival.  On the card, it will say "Valid for work only with DSH authorization" which means their SSN can only be used for work when they provide an EAD with it.

I tried within 15 days after arrive in US. I'm from NY I visited and they said you have to wait for uscis approval for EAD

    Hello VisaJourneyers,

My fiancé is soon going to be entering the US with his K-1 and we plan to be married no later than Oct. 13 (but hoping for a Sept wedding!) He has the opportunity to work a gig with me that begins early January. The tricky part is that the gig involves working on a cruise ship (but not working FOR the cruise line - it's a land-based American company.) Since the ship will leave the country, obviously we will need to have his advanced parole in order, as well as the work permit/green card.

Looking for some answers to see if this will even be possible before January 3rd. I doubt we'll have everything in time for this to legally happen. Can the company do anything to expedite the process? Any input is appreciated.

    Hi

k1 applicants are not allow to apply for SSN even and without SSN he is not able to work.Nowadays EAD takes atleast 7 Months according to USCIS Guideline.

    Dear VisaJourney friends,

My fiance and I applied for a K-1 visa back in June. We are awaiting our NOA2, but we have a problem...

I am living with my parents in Amsterdam, but they are selling their house soon. They also have a house in Germany and I am planning on living there until I can be reunited with my fiance in the US. Like I said, we have already applied and in the application I used my parents Amsterdam address and we said the Amsterdam consulate is 'my' consulate.

    Does anyone know:

    1) Can/should I change my address?

    2) Will it give me problems/delays if I move to a different country

    3) Will the visa then be transferred to the consulate in Germany?

If moving to a different country will cause enormous trouble, I will have to try to find a place here. Then the question about an address change still remains of course. The potential buyers of my parents house in Amsterdam don't mind receiving and passing my mail along, so that wouldn't be a problem. I am just worried they are going to deny me because I no longer live at the same place stated in my application.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

    Hi

Everyone have there own openion.so i suggest if your parents house buyers are ok with receiving mail or any mails from consulate then you shouldnt take risk to change add and country on your application that would be more hassel and delays as well.only one thing you have to sacrifice which is obtain everything in amsterdam and dont change your id's now untill your process is done like Medical,Pcc and remenber when you will file DS160 then fill everthing like you live in Amsterdam same address.Anyways Amsterdam is a beautiful place.

Me and my wife are thinking about moving to Houston from South Texas, this coming January. Has anybody ever successfully moved and updated their address with USCIS? Will my case be transferred to Houston or will it stay down here in San Antonio for the interview? Anybody ever had a NEGATIVE experience changing address/cities?

    hi

there is nothing to worry.it is in the rules if you move to diffrent address you should notify to uscis.you have to call them and they will change your address over the phone or you can do it online from your account but i suggest over the phone is best option and they will send you notification to your new address via mail.yes they will transfer your case to your local uscis centre.
