  1. You should be fine! I didn’t supply any additional supporting documents with the initial AOS package just the minimum that was required such as the marriage certificate. I just had my interview a few days ago and didn’t get to show anything from the mini mountain of the evidence I had brought with me apart from proof of health insurance which the interviewing officer requested to see. Questioning was thorough but not at all intimidating or difficult. It was more like a conversational recap of our journey up to this point. At the end I was informed I was approved pending a background check and was actually approved 2 days later!

Just make sure to refer to the checklist provided in your notice and gather what little supporting evidence you have available for the interview just in case. Good luck!

  2. I reccomend you do some serious research into this process. How you failed to include such key documents is beyond me especially with the wealth of information available to you.

Provide what has been asked of you and nothing more, RFE's can add a few months to the already lengthy and expensive process. Learn from this and be better prepared for the  next steps

    Good luck.

    Hi, me again lol

my status changed to "ready", yay! I've had my medical so all of that is done and I have done the D2-160, gathered all of the documents. My question is for the scheduling of the interview. The fee will be £217.30. Is this the right thing for the K1 fiance visa

Thank you! its so close I don't want to mess anything up and apply for the wrong visa lol any help would be so greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!!

    Yes, that's correct.

    Goodluck!

Hi everyone, I was wondering if the Notification of Applicant readiness form is still needed for the K-1 visa? If so, would anyone know where I would be able to get this form?

I have had my medical and my case is "In transit" to the London Embassy (Expected to arrive around the 29th). I'm just trying to be productive where I can be. When is the point where I am able to book my interview?

Also, for the interview, is it best to make photocopies of everything I will be handing over?

    many thanks in advance! :)

No, the readiness form is now redundant, you need to complete the Ds160 and print out the confirmation page as you will need this for the interview. Once you have done this you can go ahead and book your interview appointment . It is advisable but not necessary to leave at least 2 weeks between medical and interview if you want your results to arrive there in time.

Photocopies are not required for London

Yes! That's it, that's all you need. They just want to confirm the number is correct. You will probably get an email too, if you do just print it and take it with you, if not that case status is more than adequate.

  6. Yes you can, if you can print out the NVC case status showing your case number you can take that with you to the medical in place of an email or packet 3. If you really would prefer having an email from NVC as proof, email them asking what your case number is and print out the response but that really isn't necessary. You are good to go deary (assuming you have completed your medical questionnaire, have the other required documents listed and are up to date with your vaccinations)

  7. So you have a medical report for the Dyspraxia? If so this should suffice unless something has drastically changed since that last report.

A medical letter regarding your depression however is definitely needed. If you are being prescribed medication then you will have a "report" as such in the form of your medical record and this is what the medical letter will be based on. They are not expecting an in depth evaluation.

This is essentially what they want to know

    What is the diagnosis?

What treatment are your receiving (name of the medication and dosage/counseling)?

What is the duration of treatment and illness?

Has there been any prior or subsequent mental health or illness?

Have there been any incidents of self harm, harm to others or suicide attempts?

What is the prognosis and the GPs opinion of the patient's mental state? (Basically they want assurance that you are not risk to yourself or others).

These are questions any competent GP can answer whether they know you or not as the information is all there in your record, and if they ( the GP) need more information write a letter about how you feel and provide them with some background information  and take it in with you to your appointment. It gives them an emotional insight your medical record most likely will lack.

If your GP is unwilling to help you make an appointment with another. There are usually several to choose from in one practice.

Please do not worry, I hated the thought of having to prove to strangers that I was not dangerous just because I had been sad in the past. It worked out fine and I am headed off to be with my beloved in May. The people conducting the visa medicals are professional and kind.

    Good luck.

  8. I am flying out on the 30th of May and booked a one way ticket with TC for £349! (I had to make sure there wasn't a catch like my seat was going to be strapped to the wing of the plane or the pilot's knee.)

If you prefer you could still do the round trip with a bigger/better airline and just cancel the return leg a few days upon arrival. If you actually want to fly back for a short visit once you have your Greencard, you could chance it and potentially have a flight already waiting for you. It is probably wishful thinking but there is a slim chance it might play out that way! If it doesn't, once again just cancel.

P.s flight schedule change is highly likely for flights booked so far in advance. This opens up the possibility of a refund if you choose to not accept the "unfortunately unsuitable" change proposed. I discovered that by accident with VA (of course review all TOCs before purchasing anything from anyone).

    Congratulations and good luck.

So I've now just got home. Had a 2 hour train journey to kill time on so have posted my review but I wanted to thank everyone who has advised me, answered my questions, calmed my nerves with their experiences. I would never have been so prepared if it wasn't for the help this site provides so I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I'm not going to write up another full review in this post but I just wanted to confirm now I've experienced it that the interview part really is the easiest part. Not anywhere near the horror stories I had put into my own head and really was a great experience.

So on that note I guess you can all tell that yes I got....

    APPROVED!!! YAY!!

Thank you all again for everything :)

    Congratulations!! :D

  10. A letter from your counselor should be adequate. If for peace of mind you still wanted a medical letter from your GP, especially one from one that doesn’t know you (as was the case with me) consider providing them with this outline and a note explaining your history in your own words and how you are currently feeling. It might provide some helpful insight to an otherwise reluctant GP.

This is the outline I provided My GP with as the basis for my letter:

    Diagnosis?

    Treatment?

    Duration of treatment and illness?

Any prior or subsequent mental health or illness?

Have there been any incidents of self harm, harm to others or suicide attempts?

What is the prognosis and your opinion of the patients mental state. Is she a risk to herself or to others?

Use your appointment time to discuss your history and current mental state and explain that these questions need to be addressed in the letter.

Sometimes spoon feeding is the best approach. It certainly worked for me.

    Good luck deary.

  11. You do not need to wait for packet 3 as you already have your case number which is essentially what the packet 3 contains.

Go ahead and complete your Ds-160 if you haven't already and book your medical

A medical letter is only needed in addition to your patient summary if you have a history of mental illness or any significant medical conditions

More details are available on the visa medical site

    Good luck.

    Thank you both so much!

I'll use the London Embassy sub-forum from now on for further enquiries etc.

Regarding the DS-160, I've already actually applied for that and received confirmation which is printed and ready to go! In that case, am I all set on the CEAC?

Regardless, I'll get to work on checking everything with the CEAC using my LND case number!

Yes, the next step for you would be preparing for your medical.

The medical itself is a breeze! Just be sure to go prepared.

The website tells you what you will need to take with you and what to expect

    http://www.visamedicals.co.uk

  13. I have very recently had my medical at Knightsbridge and they did indeed ask for my patient/medical summary which they asked to keep.

It might not mention it on the UK embassy website but it does on the actual visa medical site http://www.visamedicals.co.uk/us-bring.htm and in the instructions they send to you once your medical appointment has been booked and confirmed.

The process of signing up to a new GP will generate a medical summary/history albeit a short one as it typically includes the results of the simple health check and basic medical questionnaire.

It's not worth the hassle turning up without the required documents as they will most likely hold off processing your medical, which makes an already drawn out process all the more tedious.

    Good luck

Okay, fair enough. I thought you got it for free. I haven't booked my medical yet. I'm planning on getting my documents sorted and my shots done before I book it. Are they busy right now? How soon did you get your medical booked? When you phoned, did they book you in for that month or much later?

I probably should have mentioned that!

Good thinking, I did the same thing as I wasn't sure how long it would take getting the medical letter (took two weeks).

I rang up on the 16th of February and I was booked in for my medical on the 20th (same month) I rang early in the morning and was on hold for 20 minutes. The last post I saw indicated March is still pretty much open for both medicals and interview appointments.

Is my exported PDF medical record from my Patient Access account enough for the Knightsbridge 'summary care record' requirement? It is 10 pages long and outlines current problems, past significant problems (none for me), past minor problems which goes back to 2003, medications (acute) and then my test results from 2013 to 2019.

I went to my GP and asked for my summary care record only to be told I can access and print it myself from Patient Access. Is this good enough for Knightsbridge?

    Thanks.

You don't need your complete medical records for Knightsbridge just the summary.

And printing off your patient summary care yourself is fine.
