😄yes pretty terrible to wait that long. But it's really common now and some people are waiting even longer than that. I quoted someone who filed in june 2018 and still waiting. And a lot of applicants who also filed the N400 while their i751 is pending have been waiting 3 to 4 years for a combo interview, specially in Seattle WA where people get stuck with combo filings.

Don't  worry, after you receive your extension, you'll forget about your application and move on with your life until when some applicants who filed the same month and year than you start telling you that they've been approved. Then you'll start checking again.

For the past month I have seen receipt numbers around my own getting approvals or RFEs, so April 2019 has been quite active lately. Today I woke up to both stimulus money in my bank account AND an approved i-751.

Here is the definition on USCIS website for Public Benefit:  https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-8-part-g-chapter-10

UI is not listed as public benefit.

We are in California, our UI came as our approved weekly amount PLUS $600 per week. For example my partner got $450 per week from UI plus the $600, a total of $1050 per week.

    Hello

I am going to send mine around the 19th February. Also the current I 751 can be used up until the 3rd of February, so I am just going to wait until they release the new edition.

Just an update to overall topic. Flew with my wife back into the US (JFK) from Grand Cayman on "expired" conditional GC with extension letter, our first time flying on the extension letter. The gate attendant in Grand Cayman looked at the letter, no questions asked, and gave us boarding passes. We were not able to go through the automated passport/GC scanning machines on entry into US and did have to wait in the manual-processing line, but the officer who processed us was definitely knowledgable, asked almost no questions, took fingerprints from all fingers on both hands, took a photo, and got us through immigration in under 5 minutes. Easy peasey!

Interview appointment was 8am, we got there around 7:25am. Parking was a little difficult to find downtown. We were in the building by 7:40am we took our mobile devices becuz we forgot to leave them in the car. It was not an issue most people had their phones but the signs on the walls just said be curteous and no loud talking on phones we turned ours off and drop them in my purse. We went through security and was checked in by 7:50am. We got Called in at approximately 8am. We were escorted in a nice private office no glass. She told our attorney to sit over in the corner and instructed us to remain standing, raise our right hand and took the oath to tell the truth. She asked for original documents, births, marriage, divorce, passport, IDs, etc. She asked us our full names and DOB. Verified information and signatures, asked my husband to verify that he was still active duty Marine. She then went into my immigration timeline from the very first time i entered the country, how many times I've entered and left etc. She asked abt each visa (I had three other usa visas at different times) i had entered the usa several times prior to my h2b visa since I was a teenager) so im guessing she wanted to verify becuz she had a separate list with different times I entered and why, as i talked abt each, she would tick. I had a b2 visa and the others were work visas and was used for such. She then asked about my jobs where I worked each time and dates she confirmed, if I was currently working to which i answered no. Next she went into the yes and no questions. Then she went into our relationship. How, when and where we met, how did we end up exchanging numbers, when did the relationship got serious, what was our first date like? What did we do after? Did we meet each other's parents, When did we decide to get married, what was our wedding date,  what was our wedding like, who was there, what did we do after the wedding, did we go on a honeymoon, why did we have a small wedding instead of a big one to which we explained we both wanted to keep it small and sentimental, as well as we were saving up for the move as he was stationed cross country, she asked if both of our parents knew each other and if they're in total agreement with us. She asked for pics and as she went through our album which was labeled and had notes of what was taking place in each pic she would take out a pic she wanted to keep and asked us if that was ok. She kept a few wedding photos, family pics, friends, she took two other pics with me pinning my husband at his promotion ceremony. She commented on some of the pics and asked a question here and there. She asked us where we see ourselves in 5yrs each of us had the opportunity to respond, then she ask if we plan to take any trips together in the near future and where we wanna go, and if we wanted children and how many, She asked for joint documents, the ones we presented were ( bank, lease from 2012 when we just moved in together, current lease, insurance, joint tax, phone bill) she said she didn't need anything else as i was abt to pull out more joint documents lol) i had a bunch of other documents and joint evidence but she didn't need them. She then looked at us and said she have every reason to believe our relationship is well established based on everything she's seen and heard she has no doubt approving our case, she said welcome to the united states, explained how the conditional gc works gave us exact dates to renew for the 10yr, told us to start making plans to travel, have us sign the paper that we understood, then she said she highly recommend for me to apply for citizenship at the 3yr mark becuz it is cheaper and easier than renewing the 10yr gc. She welcomed me again to the usa and asked if we have any questions to which we said no in unison. It seems like a long process but in reality it was only 45mins, we were done at exactly 8:45am and by 9am my online status changed to card in production. She was pleasant, and the whole interview was more like a casual conversation with laughs here and there. We had our documents well organized and didnt give or offered anything that wasnt asked for. Our answers were short and to the point, DH and I tool took turns filling in the answers. She emphasized keeping all our joint documents and we can get more if we wanted to, she said the more the merrier for when we are removing the conditions.
Sorry for the long post i just wanted to be as detailed as possible. So glad this is all over for now! Time to get settled into my new job and start moving on with life 😁😁😁 good luck to those who have upcoming interviews and pray dates come quickly for those still waiting especially December and January filers.

Just had my AOS interview this morning at 11:30am. I'd like to share my experience with everyone here:

I moved to the US from Canada under K1 Visa on Nov 11 2017. We got married on Dec 8th and sent my AOS/EAD/AP application in early Jan. I was expecting to receive EAD and AP in 3 months and AOS in 6 months. Little did I know, it takes way longer than 3 months to get a EAD/AP these days! But I was surprised to receive a letter in mail in April for an interview on May 4 2018.

My interview was at 11:30am at Los Angeles office. My husband and I arrived at 11:05am. There was a bit of wait to go through the security line at the main entrance. A security guard came over, and took us and a guy in front of us to a different entrance without a line. So we cleared through security in less than 2 minutes. The security guard was SUPER nice! Asked what we were here for, and patiently guided us where to go and which suite to go once we were on 8th floor.
Checked in at window 4 at Suite 8024 at 11:10am. There were about 7-10 groups of people in the room when we arrived. Started at 11:20am, more than half of them were called into the interview rooms. Then my name was called at around 11:35-11:40am by our immigration officer - Officer Chan. Honestly i was quite shocked at how quickly we were called. I expected to wait for 45mins to an hour!

We got to the interview office which looked just like any other office. We swore under oath, then sat down. It was super chill and not scary at all. We made some small talks. He then opened our file, and said "so you came under K1 Visa, did you get married within 90 days?" I told him my arrival date and our wedding date; and confirmed that we were married within 90 days. He asked if I brought any wedding photos with me. I said i did and explained that we only had a simple wedding at the courthouse, but our real wedding would be in Hawaii this Sep. He asked why in Hawaii and if we had any families there. My husband answered that was the destination of our first trip together. Then I showed him 3 photos of our wedding, one of us with my in-laws and the officiant at the courthouse, a photo of us and one with families at a Korean BBQ restaurant right after our courthouse wedding LOL! He was like Korean BBQ?? Thats when we started talking about random stuff, travelling and restaurants in LA. When we chatted about travelling, we mentioned that we had been to Europe, Hong Kong, Japan and China together.

Here are some green card related questions he asked:
    - He asked if my medical file (sealed envelop) was submitted at POE. I said yes and that my medical examination was done in less than a year ago.
    - What does my husband do for a living?
    - Am I currently working? I said no but I had a job offer. Then he asked what I did in Canada (Financial Planner) and which company I received the job offer from in LA (a major financial institution). Apparently the officer's wife was in the same industry and we talked about job opportunities here.
    - Can we give him some joint documents such as lease agreement, insurance papers and etc. I brought quite a bit of evidence, so I gave him our lease agreement, joint car insurance policy, 2 joint bank accounts statements, and our previous lease agreement in Canada. I was pulling out more documents and he said that was enough lol.
    - He asked to see my husband's (USC) identifications - passport and original birth certificate.
    - I answered NO to all of the questions on i-485; he asked if I needed to make any changes to them. And he asked me to answer all the standard security questions.

And that was it, he closed our file and asked if I had any questions for him. At this point, he didn't say if I was approved. So I just simply asked if I was approved LOL!!! Then he said I was approved; my file was clear and our financials looked good. I should expect to receive my green card in 4-6 weeks. I told him that I sort of needed the green card ASAP as my new employer needed me to start right away; and my new employer was waiting for my call after the interview. He joked about calling my new company from his office to let them know. Haha! He offered and gave me an approval letter to show to my new employer!

We left the USCIS building before 12pm. What a pleasant experience at the LA office. Everyone we interacted with was genuinely nice! Cheers to the end of this journey!

    Hi @Jakk!
Yes, the number will stay the same for the rest of your life.
And this was a question I had, and one person in the forum said that we should receive the new SS card two weeks later from receiving the GC if we marked that we wanted a new SS Card mailed to us (in form I-765). But I am not sure now. This person (I am sorry but I forgot who she/he was) also said that if we don't receive it in the mail, we can just go to the closest SS Office to request a new one.
