How was the interview? Any tips on the questions?

It was pretty straightforward. I was interviewed by a nice lady, she just asked a couple basic questions like when and where we met and what were our plans to get married.

She did however ask a trick question. She implied that my fiancé has been to Brazil and asked when was the last time he's been here. My fiancé has never been to Brazil.

After that she just asked when was the last time we saw each other and said that it was approved.

Hi Brazilian! I am also Brazilian and now living the J-1 Waiver drama. Would you, please, help me with these questions??

Were you in Brazil during this process?

Did the Brazilian Consulate sent the non-objection letter via e-mail or by mailing it? They sent mine via e-mail to the DoS but that sounds weird because it is written on the Third Party Barcode Page that they should mail it...

    :)

    Hey!

Yeah, I was in Brazil during the whole process. The embassy sent the No Objection Statement directly to the Department of State but they also sent me a copy via email, so that's probably why you got it.

Hope you get rid of this drama soon.

How do you check the status of an arbitrary receipt number in the new system? The only way I see is to add it to my account but I don't really want to have a bunch of strangers cases tied to my account.

  4. Finally got a favorable recommendation yesterday

Department of State Decision: Favorable Recommendation

    Item Action Date
    Recommendation Sent March, 26 2018
No Objection Statement Received February, 02 2018
    Fee Received January, 30 2018
    Form DS-3035 Received January, 30 2018
    Form DS-2019 Received January, 30 2018
Passport Data Page Received January, 30 2018
Statement Of Reason Received January, 30 2018

I'm hoping it will be quick and painless with USCIS to compensate for the DoS delay.

Someone please help me here. I think the fact that I did so much work in the past (2012-2013) all on my own as left my brain fried or just have me feeling less motivated with doing research etc:

-Visa denied at consulate file I-601 waiver (all Lawyers said I couldn't get approved for this)

-Filed I-601 waiver on my own and requested expedite so fiancé could attend my graduation

-Both expedite and I-601 waiver approved (USCIS not so bad afterall lol:P)

-Got married and filled I-485 and I-131 (I-131 approved and we traveled to his brother's wedding)

-USCIS REQUESTED A SECOND I-601 WAIVER BE FILED SAYING I DIDN'T QUALIFY THE 1ST TIME and new medical (financial nightmare and stress to now gather documents again for waiver)

-I filed I-601 waiver a second time and it was approved.... green card issued:)

My question is: What is the income requirement for me and my fiancé? is it $20,575 for a household size of 2? I think I read on here that I'll of to provide 3 years tax return so would all 3 years of to meet the requirement? What exactly do they need to see at the interview (paystubs, W2, tax return, bank statements)?

Sorry if someone already answered and I missed it.

Would you mind sharing what was your ground of inadmissibility? I know that it can be a sensitive topic for some people so no worries if you aren't comfortable with that.

Oh guys,  I wish I could be somewhere in the beginning of October NOA1...we`ve sent our docs in the middle of September and waited for USCIS to receive our envelope for over a month:( Some magical way it took them so long...Anyone of you had similar situation?

Kind of. We filed all the paperwork in June but the attorney held onto it for for three months and it only got sent in October.

Hi everyone, i am glad to have found this forum that we can all share our journey in this community. We applied for our K1 Visa on Oct 24 2017, we did receive the NOA 1 letter for Oct 26 2017. Hopefully all goes well and we should get our NOA2 letter soon.  Its almost 4 months since we applied.  Any October filers received their NOA2 letters yet??

They're still processing cases from July/August (although there are some May and June filers still waiting), should take a couple more months for them to start processing October.

It is not about being interested or not. But These numbers belong to people and we don't know everyone of them. So thinking their privacy I don't believe it is advisable.

I had had a similar request before but I believe this is why uscis website and apps exist for and this shouldn't be an info too much out there.

also I really would like this to be over before we can even get to that and not a regular occurance in anyone's lives.

There’s no need to publish the numbers. It’s just a nice and convenient way to generate reports, which we’ve been doing already.

Regardless, you’ve been doing a great job for this community and I think everyone appreciates having you here, keep up with the positivity and good work.
