Hey all! My ceremony is scheduled at the Plano Event center for Dec. 13. 2022. I read the comments about audio only room for family. Is there any chance I can livestream anything from my phone or can someone from my family livestream at least from the family room? I have international family who would love to hear it.

I found your comment by searching for the same question.

How did it go? Were you able to record or take photos? Is it still audio only for family?

My ceremony is on February 22nd and I'm debating if I should bring my husband and teenage kids.

  2. Hi everyone!

    I came in as a K1 (with 3 K2s).

    Sept. 20, 2021 I filed our I-751/I-751A.

    Sept. 19, 2022 I filed my N400.

(Sept 27 I got notice my I-751 was being transferred to NBC Lee's Summit, Mo.)

Dec 23, 2022 I received notice that my n400 interview was scheduled for 1/30/23.

I've now been seeing that it could be a combo interview, which is fine because I was planning on bringing my spouse with me anyways. But should I also be planning on bringing my kids (the I-751A dependents)? I'm just doubting they'll let us all in through security when the interview letter only has my name on it.

*Ugh I can't wait for this process to be over and done with forever. I'm pretty sure the stress and anxiety over the past few years is the direct cause of grey strands of hair beginning to pop up. 🙃

  3. Hi guys,

I filed my I-751 and have three I-751A dependents.

Shortly after I filed, we all got our receipt notice, notice they are reusing our biometrics, and the 2 year extension letter.

Then last month, 2 of my kids got ANOTHER initial receipt notice in the mail.

Last Friday, one of my children received a letter in the mail from USCIS.

So only one out of the four of us received a biometrics appointment.

Has anyone else gotten weird things like this?

(We're at the Dallas field office.)

I think that is a great idea! Who doesn't love fireworks? Plus it will be harder for him to forget your anniversary 😉

My best friend moved to Euless which is only about 15 min from DFW. She loves it, a little too much city for me.

It's a bit too much city for me too. I was born and raised on acreage, so we are hoping to find some property in a small town in the next couple years.

I am still so elated that this nightmare chapter is over. Dancing on air happy!

Awesome news! You will be able to celebrate the 4th of July here!! What part of Texas, if I may ask?

Yes! I suggested to my fiance that we should just marry on that day so we always have a holiday and fireworks on our anniversary, but I don't think he's convinced. haha

I'll be in the DFW area

  6. Update: I HAVE MY VISAS!!!

I woke up this morning to a notification from Canada Post saying that there was an issue with my address and they're working on sorting it out, and my package won't be delivered until the 13th!
So I immediately called and they told me they're working on it and it could take up to the 16th to get my package delivered!
    OH HECK NO!
So I emailed the executive support person at Canada Post (the highest up on the chain of command) who had done the investigation the first time, and she immediately called the Mail Depot in my town and made them go and locate my package and bring it to the front. The depot called me and said they have the package and asked if I would like to go and pick it up, so I said I would be there asap.
While I was there, the consulate had emailed me because they noticed the an issue with the tracking as well.
I picked up and signed for the package, and opened it right there in the post office to make sure everything was complete. Not 10 minutes after I signed for it, I received an email from both the consulate AND Canada Post's Executive support asking me to confirm that I received it because they saw it was picked up. I confirmed and thanked them both for tracking my package the entire time along with me and had such fast responses.

I AM SO FREAKING HAPPY AND RELIEVED!!

    Moving Date June 20th!

Do you think she called you from the Visa Unit because of the Senator?  If so, I cant believe how fast the Senators office addressed the email from your USC!  We had our i-212 waiver approved January 30 2019.  They then forwarded it to the Montreal consulate to continue processing our Immigrant Visa application.  The consulate has been slow, poor at communication, and even making errors!  I'm wondering if we should start considering contacting a Senator.  Are there any resources on this topic of contacting senators that you would recommend?

I think it was just a fluke that the Consulate called the day after my fiance contacted his Senator.
Montreal is known for their slow activity, like molasses in January slow. Unfortunately I don't know resources on this topic I can recommend, perhaps you will be able to find something relevant to your situation in a search.

  8. So I have another update to post:

Yesterday I sent another email to the consulate asking for an update (since they never responded to me since the accidental reply mishap), and the USC sent an email to his Senator requesting an inquiry.

Today I personally received a phone call from the person at the Visa Unit who is handling my case.
She said that she wanted to call me to tell me she is sending me an email and  she wanted me to know so I look for it right away. They have received my new passports and are going to do everything possible to get my my visas reissued promptly. But unfortunately everything that went along in the sealed package with my missing passports, are also missing (obviously), and that I need to send them ALL my original documents + photocopies of everything I presented at the interview (Birth Certificates, Divorce Certificate, Divorce Decree, Custody orders for the kids, new passport photos for the visas, another copy of the criminal record check, etc) and they are contacting the medical examiner's office themselves to get another copy of our medical exams directly.
Why the heck wouldn't they ask me to send all that stuff when they asked me to send the new passports?? smh.

Anyways, she assured me that my file wasn't leaving her desk, and she instructed me to get all those things into the mail ASAP and told me what to write on the envelope so that it doesn't sit in the mail room.
She said that if I get it into the mail today, it would reach the Consulate on Tuesday. But because Monday is a holiday for them, she won't receive it until Wednesday. She said she is expediting everything so I will hopefully receive my new visas for the 4th of June.

I sent everything off today. Fingers crossed there's no more messing around and I indeed get my stuff back as quickly as they say.

Honestly, I read about it and it cements for me that if you have the means to pay for the expedited shipping, to do it.

I received my passport back the Tuesday after my interview.

The expedited shipping only allows the passports to be delivered to your home address, rather than picking it up from the post office.
I figured with one less 'step' the docs needed to go through, the safer they would be. They're sent Xpress Post either way.

Paying the extra $20 does nothing for someone's sticky hands, or whatever mishap from happening while it's en route (mine was at the processing plant).

  11. I'm still waiting for mine. :(

Mine got 'lost' in the mail, had to wait for the consulate and CP to preform an investigation, then go through the process to get new passports, before sending them back to Mtl for a visa re-issue.
They were delivered back to the consulate on the 2nd and I am still waiting to hear back if they have even come out of the offsite mail room yet (sent 2 emails so far).

  12. So, on Thursday when the 10th business day hit, I emailed back asking for an update.

Then yesterday morning, they mistakenly replied to my email (rather than forwarding it) with a message to their supervisor asking what they should tell me!! They immediately sent me another email requesting to recall the previous one they mistakenly sent! (Too late, I saw it. And I don't think you can un-send an email anyways).
But they never ended up answering my email or giving me any information.
Now it's a long weekend and the earliest I will hear back will be Monday. 🤬

This is turning into such a #### show

  13. Hey guys, STILL waiting...
From my last message, the consulate responded to me saying that all mail goes to an offsite facility and can take up to 10 business days to actually reach the visa unit. 😤

Just checking in to see how you are doing with everything...

Nothing much to update with yet. I contacted the Consulate last week to confirm they have received my new passports (tracking shows they were delivered on May 2nd). The replied back saying that the visa unit doesn't have them yey and it can take up to 10 business days to get from their offsite mailroom to the visa unit.

(That will bring me to tomorrow.)

I am hoping that they have them now and just haven't told me they do. I will be emailing them again in the morning.

I hope you hear back so soon!!!

I hope so too. The packages were all delivered last Thursday, but I have not heard anything as of yet.
I sent an email to the consulate this morning asking to confirm they have received them and that they're not just sitting in some mail room.

  16. Yesterday morning (with tears in my eyes and panic on my face), I dropped them back off with Canada Post to be sent out to Montreal...
It's now been over 20 hours since the last tracking update (when they arrived in good ol' Richmond... the same place my other ones were stolen from)... They are supposed to be delivered to the consulate tomorrow (according to my guaranteed delivery date)!

I swear this anxiety is going to make my heart stop beating.

They have photocopiers there, so at the very least, they can copy it themselves, although I wouldn’t put it past them to charge you $1 per copy 🙄

I cannot wait for your post to say it’s resolved and you’re moving :)

At this point, I wouldn't care if they charged me $10 per copy. It's been SUCH a headache and will be such a relief when it's all over and done.

  18. So I woke up this morning to an email from the consulate saying to mail in our new passports, with instructions on what to print off and send with it.

I printed it off, printed off the mail-in authorizations with barcodes, and went down to the post office. When I got there, they told me that each passport needed to be sent in individually, because they all had different barcode reference numbers for each of our names.  (HELLO RIDICULOUS ANXIETY NOW.. that's 4 packages I need to worry about rather than 1)

It's sent, and I get home, only to receive another email an hour later telling me that I also need to include a photocopy of each biographic page with each new passport. Too late.
I really hope that not having the photocopy won't be an issue.
