I agree that USPS is not the agency that determines residency. However, how does one actually establish residency versus a visit? There isn't a simple answer to this across states...it's generally about intent. The lack of a state ID & no driver's license, stating only a temporary change of mail delivery, etc. are factors in this consideration.
I'm not saying they did or didn't make the right call - I don't know all the facts. But at least some of the factors present a question of her actual residency.

She'll get there in the end....it just may have some more bumps inn the road than expected.

Yes, another form of identification was not mentioned on the letter, but it you have an online account, USCIS mentioned that you need to bring another form of identification. see below:

One way or another you really have to bring another form of identification.

    What to bring
Green Card Appointment letter A second form of photo identification (such as a driver's license, passport, or state ID card).

There's no way to get a physical copy of it----but you can always phone USCIS and confirm they have your correct mailing address on file.

Or check the deleted emails in your trash folder...you may be able to recover it from there depending on how your email is set up.

But she agreed.  Therein lies an issue.  If you say my permanent residence is WA then they say okay bye. Whats done is done.  She'll have to interview in WA.

What does NJ law state? When is she deemed a resident? Why would she say her permanent residence is in WA if she lives in NJ?

It seems like sometimes they ask, sometimes they don't. The official interview letter received from USCIS does not list a state ID on the MUST BRING list. So why would it be a requirement? Also, according to the law I'm not required to have a state ID or driver's license (as far as I know), I should only be able to identify myself to law enforcement (which I can by using my passport). So to me the only reason they want to see state ID is to make sure I'm a California resident and I have plenty of other documents to proof that. I just want to be 100% sure this will not delay my process...

    hi

yes, as is states, they are reviewing the case, it is pending, the officer wants to make sure, that they have jurisdiction over her case since she moved from another state, and you have to wait 3 months from the move to apply for citizenship

They are definitely not accurate estimations.  My interview is in less than two weeks, and it's still saying my case won't be completed for another 10 months...

  10. Thanks
minglevi reacted to Going through in N400 online application - digital signature full legal name
My green card had the middle initial only.
I put my full first, middle and last name as the electronic signature, as that is my full legal name (as directed in the instructions).

    From the N400 instructions:

"If you submit a document with information in a foreign language, you must also submit a full English translation. The translator must sign a certification that the English language translation is complete and accurate, and that he or she is competent to translate from the foreign language into English."

Which document is more recent? In my case, I just uploaded all the documents that support the most recent form of identification I have.

For example, my name is different from my maiden name through marriage, which is different from my birth name via deed poll. So I just uploaded my marriage certificate, my deed poll, AND my birth certificate.

minglevi reacted to mindthegap in What can she do after N400 application
    Depends when her interview is.
She is free to travel, but physical presence and continuous residence requirements still apply until she has taken her citizenship oath.

    No.
Until she has taken her oath and is a citizen, any absence longer than six months is presumed to break the continuity of residence (aka ‘continuous residence’ ) requirement for citizenship purposes.
    Read this:
    https://www.uscis.gov/policymanual/HTML/PolicyManual-Volume12-PartD-Chapter3.html

“In cases where an applicant changes or plans to change his or her residence after filing the naturalization application, the applicant is required to report the change of address to USCIS so that the applicant’s A-file (with application) can be transferred to the appropriate office having jurisdiction over the applicant’s new place of residence”
    (Taken from: https://www.uscis.gov/policymanual/HTML/PolicyManual-Volume12-PartD-Chapter6.html )

The physical presence rule still applies and must be met at the time of interview and oath.
Also, filing an N-400 for citizenship is nothing to do with ‘remove conditions’ which is I presume why you have posted in the wrong forum section.

For Indian visa you have to come back after 6 months, can't stay more than 6 months and wait for 1 month here to go back.OCI you can stay lifelong,no need to come back but can come back any time.
Only people born in India can apply for OCI.
Aslo they should not have any relation with 7 countries listed on Indian website,i think-Afganistan,Iran,Pakistan,Sri lanks,Bangladesh two more i don't remember.
Any relation means their spouse ,parents or any near relative should not belong to or born in these countries.
With OCI you can buy land and live like Indian native in India(can't vote).
Go though Indian consulate website for more information.
