I am helping a family member with N-400 and I am confused ..

it asks 'what is your current legal name?

her name is changed due to marriage ...middle name and last name both changed due to marriage so obviously its different than birth certificate

But on green card the middle name shows only first letter of middle name but her foreign passport (remember she is not us citizen yet) shows full middle name

I am confused what should we enter on N400 ...full middle name as per passport or just middle initial as per green card?
I am confused mainly because green card is issued by US govt. and passport is issued by foreign govt. so US govt. issued document trumps the foreign govt. issued ?

Which document is more recent? In my case, I just uploaded all the documents that support the most recent form of identification I have.

For example, my name is different from my maiden name through marriage, which is different from my birth name via deed poll. So I just uploaded my marriage certificate, my deed poll, AND my birth certificate.

Thanks...so what name did you use as your current legal name??

I assume you used most current name must be as per your green card because that would be most recent?

Yup, I used my name on the Green Card as it is the name I use right now! Sorry I should've clarified.
