I wanted to ask regarding this (if anyone knows) If RFIE for AOS will effect the potential for EAD/AP approval before evidence is sent? I know they’re all separate cases with different MSC numbers but I’m confused because I sent them all at once

we sent our all at once, and replied quickly (sent with express mail). EAD came first in January, then interview appointment in February, then approval in April. We sent in our Adjustment in August. We used the timelines and estimated waits for city we filed in to get an idea of how long the wait was.

Omg hahahah this is a terrible look for them. 😂😂😂😂 I would've thought this picture was taken from the 80s.

i felt this, because during our interview the agent asked me for my passport, and i said it should be in my file. She didnt want to admit they lost it, and I didnt bring it to the interview so they held up our approval since they didnt have all the docs. They called my husband and had him bring up my birth certificate AND my passport pics... 2 months later they approved us. I really do think they just hold off for whatever reason....

I’m so *\+]+*{]++] off right now... just got an email & a text from USCIS, got real excited, check the case tracker app “request for initial evidence has been mailed” for AOS.. WHAT? 160 days after I filed?! WHAAAAATTT? Ummmmm????????

they did the same for us. Dont know why, but we just quickly sent in whatever they wanted then got our interview a few months later. I think I sent in a notorized copy of my passport ( i think, it was so long ago)

Thank you for the encouraging words.... I know we have not waited as long as others. The waiting gets tough. Especially when you need to work. But it’s encouraging to know others are the same, waiting patiently 😜. Ahhhhhh 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ 🤯

it will work out.. it has been hard for us too... everything will fall into place...

  5. I think i posted in the wrong group, but hubby just got his greencard approved today and it has been a long road. I AM ELATED!

I didn’t present the poms because the agent sounded like he knew a K1 could get an ssn. But when it took over a month we became worried and started calling. Nobody had anything to say. The denial letter just said provide more documentation and let us know if we were wrong for denying you.

K1 can get a temp ssn. That was what my husband did until his EAD got approved.

my medical exam prior to the visa were in TOGO and of course not in English but even if it's in English you have to go to a civil surgeon who will sign your for i-693 and if your prior medical exam is in between 6 months to 1 year you don't need another exam but you need the vaccination supplement. but here's the thing when you call those civil surgeons office, they to make you have another exam so i was calling until i get this one who accepted to review my previous medical exam ressults and basis on that she only make me go under a tuberculosis test again because the test is only valid for on month at a time

ah ok, i get. His exam was just barely a month old and he has the supplement paper. We kept the cd they provided as well. I was worried because it wouldnt make sense for him to take another exam (some doctors just want money) and his vaccination paper had all the exams filled out (Hep, TB, etc)

    here is an update.

i seriously advise all of you leaving in portland area washington beaverton in you need a civil surgeon for the adjustment of status, please go to  INTERNAL MEDECINE CONSULTANT, P.C. doctor VANDANA Bindal,  BEAVERTON Commons 14355 Allen Blvd Suite 130 Beaverton OR 97005 phone 503 320 2121. hey guys she knows what we need exactly. for the AOS make sure you have all your documents in english including lab test reslut an all she'll go trought it and tell you what you need. thx

we didnt go to any doctor :( his results are in english though... i just thought that if on k1 you dont have to see a doc out here again if you adjust within a year of your visa...

As others have said, she won't be able to work as soon as she enters on a K1 - she will have to file for EAD (work permit), which can be submitted at the time you guys file her AOS (it's no fee/additional cost to file it all together). While processing times do fluctuate, they are a bit slow right now. We just submitted my husband's paperwork the end of June and expected EAD approval right now is between November and December.

Best advice is to start working on AOS process ASAP once she's here so you can get that mailed out and get yourselves in queue sooner rather than later.

so it is not the 1225 (AOS) + 485 (EAD)? If so i will be so relieved.

    Extend?

The conditions are that you must get married within the 90 days of POE. You cannot extend. That is the criteria of the K1.

ok as long as it is 90 days of POE and not when issued then i am not worried.

Can anyone lead me to a thread on EADs? I and fiancee want to kind of get a feel for how long he has to wait not working... i know it will drive him insane.

You have to call USCIS since they issued those and see if they will re-issue/mail it again.
You probably need to know what that original WAC # was to ask about it.

Am not sure if they will still keep track of it since that was such a long time ago but they are the only ones you can get it from.
    Good luck girl!

thank you! i probably wont need to call them as i think i know where i put them (in my portfolio that i lost on the metro). luckily i put in a claim and they didnt throw away my portfolio and it is chilling in lost and found lol

Question????  I am the petitioner, do I need to have original copies of my previous divorces?  I have copies but not the originals.

for nigerian embassy i was the petitioner and i only had to give my fiancee (the beneficiary) my copies.. the beneficiary who has had a previous marriage would have to have the original. (this is for nigeria) and make sure you have all of the papers... i provided all pages, not just signatures
