EllaB reacted to carmel34 in IR1 visa petiton filed....a few questions
spousal visas are taking 12-14 months from date of NOA1 to interview abroad right now.  Complete a timeline to get an estimate for NOA2 likely approval date for your service center.  Then there's NVC stage, medical, interview abroad, and this part depends on the country.  Read the guides on VJ and go to your country specific forum for average times for the interview scheduling times.

EllaB reacted to Crazy Cat in I-130 was approved Today [merged threads]
    From the VJ CR-1 guide:
"A few weeks after you have received your last Notice of Action indicating the approval and forwarding of your I-130 application to the NVC, the NVC will send your relative a packet of forms that you and your relative must fill out before your relative can be given an interview date with a consulate abroad. The packet will likely contain instructions to fill out the DS-261 and DS-260 online forms, by the intending immigrant. An I-864 form is also included that must be filled out by the petitioner (living in the US). The I-864 is the Affidavit of Support form that requires copies of the petitioners past 3 U.S tax returns (or tax transcripts which are free from the IRS) as well as any bank or financial records available (see the I-864 for exact requirements based on your case). The petitioner must make at least 125% above the U.S federal poverty to indicate to the U.S government that the intending immigrant will not become a federal charge to the government when he/she arrives in the U.S.. If the petitioner cannot meet these requirements, then he/she must still file an I-864, and find a joint sponsor who can meet the requirements on his/her own. When a joint sponsor is needed ,proof of their U.S citizenship or permanent residency is required. (i.e. copy of birth certificate, immigration status etc). The joint sponsor must be residing in the U.S, and he/she must also submit his/her past 3 years U.S tax returns along with bank or any other financial records available. The joint sponsor must submit his/her own I-864 form to accompany the petitioner's I-864 form."

Got a surprise in the mail today. I got my greencard interview set for next month on Nov 6th! My case was not updated online.

So happy. I start a new job next week, going for my drivers test soon, and now this. This is the best early Christmas present ever haha.

We got Paul's letter yesterday, on my birthday! His interview is September 18th, which is one of my friend's birthdays. So I'm hoping that means it's lucky

That seems so soon! We have a lot to do. We need to hurry up and figure out his vaccination record situation before then. Based on a similar experience another poster recently shared, I think all we have to do is see someone who can administer the missing shot (TDAP, I think it is) and then find a local civil surgeon to complete his vaccination record. I'm hoping it's that simple for us!

We were sent to Charlotte NC for his biometrics, which we are a town away from (we live in SC and we're so close to NC, I actually work in Charlotte). But we're being sent to Greer SC for the interview, which is almost 2 hours away  I figured we would be going to Charlotte again. Greer's a pretty small town compared to Charlotte - I hope that just means they'll be small town friendly, and not... "so small town, they don't get these often and may not know what they're doing".

I just had my AOS interview at the Raleigh NC field office. Went through the usual airport style security to waiting room and waited for our number to be called.

We got called in by a friendly officer. He told us he needed a copy of our marriage certificate because he couldn't find it, so I gave one to him. He asked me some basic biographical questions and some of the yes/no questions from the AOS packet. He said that since the K1 was done that it's already been shown relationship is real. He then asked how we met, when we decided to get married, and when we first met in person. We had nice little conversations with him just about everyday stuff throughout the interview. It seemed to have gone well. He didn't ask for anything else aside from the copy of the marriage certificate so I offered him the co-mingling evidence and he took it. He said that that would be important for the ROC. He told us that we would probably get a decision within the next couple of days.

The whole interview probably took about 10 mins.

    Yes

    1. if you are denied - it does not matter what your status was at time you filed. You will now get a NTA unless you have a dual intent status.
    3. show me different evidence. Even one or two cases is way too many> if the petitioner can not make a mistake then we should hold the USCIS to the same standard.

    Hi Junies,

One more straggler crossing the finish line of the K1 visa process.

After making POE here in Ohio on March 26th,  my fiance and I finally tied the knot yesterday, June 14th...with less than ten days left on the K1 Visa   Phew!

And I finally received my SSN on May 30th, more than two months after applying for it on March 27th. No idea why it took so long.

You guys on this site kept me going through some really dark times and I'm very grateful for that. To anyone still waiting, hold on and keep holding on because sometimes, it really is darkest before the dawn.

    @KBA

My heart goes out to you, dear!  Kudos for keeping a positive outlook, you've been an inspiration to me, more than you know.  My thoughts and prayers will be with you until your Visa Journey comes to a happy end as well.

Now, presenting Mr. and Mrs. D and T

The wedding in Manila is scheduled for Monday at 10:00 am.  That will be my "official" move from K-1 to CR-1.  I wish everyone here the best and I will stop in to say hello occasionally.  This thread should hopefully die soon because everybody will move on.

I agree.  While there is a wait, she will be able to get married with her family there and I will visit often.  I will be visiting my wife, not my fiancee.  She is happy.  God works in strange ways.  This is the best plan.  We should have done this a year ago!

I love seeing all the progression of Junies! I check in daily on you all...especially during my lunch break at work . My fiance and I went to get our marriage license today. We were in and out within 10 mins! We are 10 days away from our wedding day!!!! It is crazy how quickly the days have passed by!!

Ready for something VERY bizarre?  On a whim I called NVC.  Tomorrow will be 2 weeks since NOA2.  They received my petition today AND assigned it a number!!!!!!  In one day my petition was received and assigned!  NOW this is getting real!
