I understand they are overworked. And I am the USC. They actually emailed us back last night to send them over the evidence, but our case was already approved on the 9th without their assistance. I thanked them for their reply and advised them to just go ahead and close out our request

The BEST  thing just happened.... I checked  this morning and still NO updates since 7/26. Just randomly checked again and this:

Sorry here is our timeline for all of those interested. Our NOA1 date was June 4th 
he did his biometrics on June 29th
on July 24th we switched over to ready for interview
 
For EAD we reached out to our congressman's office on July 19th. They called us a few days later saying, sorry nothing we can do they aren't accepting expedite request right now. Which I knew was a lie. So I reached out to USCIS directly on July 25th. Spoke to a very nice guy there who I feel like probably played a huge part in this because it sounded like he was actually listening and cared. He said he will forward the request and hopefully someone will reach out within 5 days. The next day we got an email asking to submit evidence. I typed up a letter explaining the situation and supplied financial proof. I faxed it that night, went through first try (got lucky here). On Tuesday I reached out to my Senators office by sending them an email asking them to inquire for us. NOW I would say this is what helped. But I actually called there this morning after checking my status online a few hours ago with still no change, and because I hadn't heard back from my email to the senator and they said sorry, we don't see it, please resend and also fax. So I refax to Senators office. Message my husband about how this whole process really has me down but at the end of the day we have eachother and our health and lets focus on that for now. 
Then I don't know what made me want to check again, but I did and the status had changed to this!!

The form tells you where to fax or email it. 

so fast! Congrats! as a fellow San Diegan, this gives me so much hope! Filed June 4th. 

are you asking if I included the email they sent? Yes, I did. But not as the first page. I fax from my email and the info I type in the body of the email becomes the first page/coversheet. Next page was a letter with his request outlining the supporting documents attached. And then after that letter was the email they sent. 

I got through yesterday first try...

Hmm - I tried our congressman. Signed the form, asked him to inquire on our status and request a possible expedite. I don't think he even called USCIS to be honest. He called us yesterday and said "we cannot expedite - there are too many request and they are working first in and down" we said but what if he gets a job offer (currently looking) and he stated - "it won't change anything. Even people with job offers cannot expedite." 
 
We felt a little defeated, as we thought the rep would be more on our side and fighting for us. Doesn't mean we won't try again though. 4-6 months waiting to work is not an option. 

I am not May. But close, June 6th. In San Diego. May I ask how you got your combo card expedited? We tried our congressman, Scott Peters office, with no luck. 
Yesterday I got an update for Case ready to be scheduled for I-485
But no update on EAD. We have not approached USCIS directly yet on the matter because I am trying to prepare a package and a letter for them. Just wondering how you were so successful! 

It doesn't hurt to start looking. Mine is. Just getting his resume updated, his documents translated, his degree evaluated. We made him a Linkedin. And he will start applying. Hoping someone will give him an offer and with that offer hoping we can expedite!

We sent everything two day over the weekend and my carrier tracking says it arrived to Chicago on Monday morning. But I want to track on USCIS side as well
