Hi all, I am about to submit my IV package at NVC (IR1/CR1 visa), and my Canadian spouse got her police clearance certificate from the Toronto Police Service. She ordered it online from here: https://www.torontopolice.on.ca/background-checks/criminal-record-check-process.php

    This is the pertinent text:

She did not do fingerprints. She has no criminal history. Will this be sufficient for NVC/IV processing?  Has anyone submitted something similar?

I ordered mine from the same website. How long does it take to be issued? And did they notify her by e-mail once ready? Do you know by chance if I can pick it up on Saturday? Thanks! :)

Okay, so I called again on your advice. The rep said to choose option 5 instead of 7, I guess bc of electronic embassy stuff .

I called again and tried option 5. This time I was told they received my case on Thursday, but I guess they still haven't assigned me a case number. Let's see what happens. I will try calling again tomorrow. I just thought it was odd I got the invoice number first.

@SJ1024 you can call in a few hours again, they are updating all the time the system. @AnaMolina called 3 times a day to get it :)

May 12th received date here. Just a quick update! :)

We were approved on Friday, October 27th and we received our hard copy NOA2 today! Pretty quick turn around!!!

And it looks like so many of you have received approvals today!!! I am so, so happy for y’all! Here’s hoping there will be lots more as the day goes on!!!

Also, if anyone knows of any fellow Canadian filers who have recently booked an interview, please let me know! I’m curious to know what dates are available (hoping to be there before the end of the year if I’m lucky enough!)

    🤗

Congrats dear! I hope we'll all make it by the end of this year :)

So my case was 'ready' Oct-24 and I sent it that day and they replied quickly that they didn't receive my case yet. On Oct-25 I re-sent Packet 3 and got an email back not to schedule my interview and wait for further instructions. On Oct-27 my status was updated again on CEAC tracker and I re-sent my Packet 3..waiting to hear back...

I'm really hoping to schedule my interview tomorrow… if not I'll keep re-sending Packet 3!!

You' ll do it tomorrow! Good luck! :)

I am interested to hear as well...fiancé is Canadian as well...I pray it is not 4 months to get an interview after all the waiting for NOA2!

It will very sad if this take another 4 months after waiting 6 - 7 for the first stage.

For sure it is not so long but waiting NVC after NOA2 can add up to month and then at least a month to schedule appointment at the consulate... The good part is everything may change

Tomorrow is day 12 after NOA2, and my fiance will call again NVC, I hope they have our case this week!

Just letting you know that I received a notification on my app, bright and early this morning, 7am California time. Case approved, no country, just had United states, but oddly it says that the filing date was 5/7/2017, which was a Sunday . What to think of that?

The filing date is entered by the user of the app it is not related to the actual received date with USCIS. So when you're creating your timeline using the app it will show whatever you have entered.

I think you should renew your passport ASAP, because otherwise you HAVE to have your POE before Dec. 27 and if you just got your NOA2 (depending how long NVC and Canada is taking right now), you might not be ready in time.  Back in the summer it took me 5 weeks to get a number from NVC because some people from Canada were being input in their new electronic system and it was taking longer than the typical 10-14 days.  I'm not sure if it is going faster now or how far out most interviews are being booked.  Either way you will end up being delayed if you can't make that POE date (ie you either renew now and delay the interview or renew after interview if you can't make that date and delay POE- but then you have the hassle of figuring out how to get your visa in your new passport).  If you decide to renew now, just make sure you don't book an interview until you have your new passport because the passport you book your interview has to match what you use.  If you need to change your passport number, then you have to cancel and reschedule the interview and they don't make guarantees that your previous spot will still be open.

Thank you! I just called Bulgarian consulate again, and they told me in case I need to keep my old passport to use the visa for POE I should fill in some declaration and I could keep both old and new one! In that case checking on uscis web site it seems that I can show on POE both passports - old one with visa on it and the new one as a valid document, am I right?

From all that I know, they will only take the passport to issue the new one.  You will get it back.  I have gotten my old one back after renew and Monica has gotten all of hers back.  The will punch it so that it can not be used again, but you need it for all of the stamps that you may have in it.  I see that you have gotten your NOA2, what is your home country?  Are you going to your embassy there in Canada?  You have some time before the interview to renew it.  I would probably start that process now to get it done.

They will not give it back, I asked them :( I don't have any stamps. Certainly I can try to renew it prior to interview, but will the consulate accept it and how should I let them now? I thought I could send a cover letter with my packet 3 and ask for next steps. My home country is Bulgaria and we have a consulate here in Toronto and they are really slow...

  9. I know here I could find answers of my questions.

So being the beneficiary, my passport from home country (not Canadian, I am permanent resident here in Canada) is expiring on June 27th next year. And passport should be valid 6 months at time of POE. The renewal from Canada (the fastest possible) is 2 months  Except that they are taking back the old passport, once the new one is issued...

    And my questions:

    1) If visa is issued to my old passport how can I use it with my new one?

    2) Or should I try to renew before the interview?

    3) If so how can I notify them for the new passport if they have everywhere my old passport number?

Do I have any other option?
