So... our file is at Montreal US Consulate for two weeks. I tried to send Packet3 on 28th of Nov but I received an email: do not send it, we are working on your file bla bla bla

No update in the case status since that date. Is it ok if I send them an email asking about the status of our application? Or I don't have to disturb them

This never ending waiting is killing me...

What I did: I chose from different dates and I made screnshots of skype and viber where the date is shown. Maybe 10-20 each app

Can I simply go to the police headquarters and apply there? I'm seeing that for the Canadian you need to get your fingerprints taken, which makes it much harder than the online system at home.

 

Any advice would be awesome.

I ordered mine here online: http://www.torontopolice.on.ca/background-checks/criminal-record-check.php , and took later from the nearest police station. It was ready for 2 weeks! Cost is 20 CAD. And you don't need fingerprinting it is only if you have criminal background

that is interesting that they say they will receive AnD process within 6 weeks. i was under the impression that was only for receiving.

 

Unfortunately after getting the NVC number NVC will tell you that there is no time frame for sending files to embassies or consulates....

We heard that several times

We have been approved on 18th October and NVC received our file on 14th November, NVC number was assigned on 15th Nov and still showing AT NVC...

They are really slow last days...

I don't think so... NVC is another planet and currently no one knows what is happening there last weeks...

I have a question here: me as a beneficiary Canadian Permanent resident renewed my passport (from home country) because it expires on 27th of June 2018 - less than 6 months of time of POE.

The old one will remain with me. I am still waiting for NVC number.  And my question is should I fill DS-160 with my new passport number and notify Consulate for the renewal or should I first notify them and then prepare Packet 3? In other words: what should I do?

@Dorice same here. NOA2 Oct 18th and still no number from NVC. My fiance called USCIS this morning and they said they are "usually" sending Package to NVC on the same date when sending hard copy of NOA2 to petitioner. So... I don't know who is lying...

Hi @Cristina24, today is our 20th day and NVC keeps saying they have no record for our case number.

In the meantime you can gather Police Certificate(s) and make sure your vaccination record is updated. You can also start to fill in DS-160 but without the NVC number, dont' submit it!

Did anyone get recently NVC number for less than 3 weeks...

What is happening there? 3 weeks gone and even file is not with them!!!!
