The letter we wrote explaining why we don't have the2018 tax transcript and promising to bring the transcripts to the interview must have done the trick! Thanks to everyone for the help along the way (particularly @SM&RM) and I'm hoping everyone else finally breaks through all the NVC bs.

Thanks it did, i just got a CC few mins ago via email. Thou I checked CEAC this morning and got doc qualified. I asked because I didn’t get an email lol. Thanks!!! And CONGRATS!!

Yeah totally agree with you on that. They should let everyone know when this change is coming into effect and only reject those documents from that point, this is just cruel. Particularly as there must be lots of people around the same time as us who were forced to use returns instead of transcripts because of the government shutdown. 

With new immigration laws the officer reviewing each case can request whatever evidence they want. No real standard on what is acceptable and what isn’t. NVC has been told to make this process difficult for us. Just a fact. A lot more REF’s because of this. One might ask for 2018, then another reject and say only 2017....SMH You can see the different discrepancies here. Some get RFE for not sending in 2018 tax returns. All we can do is play this game with them and send them what they ask for. 

The 2018 tax return has to go under tax return, not optional documents. The W2’s go under optional documents. Please follow her post. It is a big help.

He shouldn’t have to prove Domicile if his address on the I-864 is in the U.S. non-household members complete I-864. 

we waited this long and almost to the finish line. The day they schedule the interview is near 

I submitted Jan 18th and still nothing so it's more than two weeks for me so far. But I have seen other people who submitted on the 18th that have gotten a response, seems a bit hard to tell at the moment! Fingers crossed it's under 3 weeks, I've been having nightmares about our documents getting rejected 😫

Are you living in Canada right now? If not, this shouldn't be an issue. I was living in UAE for 5-6 months a couple of years ago and when we submitted by papers via CEAC, the system asked for my UAE Police certificate too. We just left a comment in there saying that "as per requirements, a UAE police certificate is not needed since it's neither my country of current stay nor did I spend more than 12 months there" .  I was worried they would still ask for it, but all my civil documents got accepted and that comment was accepted too. Don't quote me, but I think you should be good:)

NVC received: November 20th
Case number assigned: January 20th 
 
So 7 weeks and 3 days seems to be the rule at the moment. Should be very soon for those around the same time still waiting!

Just wanted to keep everyone posted. 
NOA1: 1st Mar 18
NOA2: 24th Oct 18
NVC Received: 14th Nov 18
Case # Received: 5th Jan 19

NVC received our case November 20th and still no case number.
 
Looking at other people's timelines it seems recently it's only been taking four weeks for a lot of people so I don't understand why it's slowed so much but I guess all we can do is wait.

MY HUSBAND AND I WERE APPROVED TODAY!!! God is good. Best of luck to all remaining March filers. My husband refreshed his app today and that's how we found out. No email. No text. No mail notice. New and old websites...nothing either. Please see timeline below:
