Catholic Charities of one of them.  I'm not sure if there is one in your area but it might be worth checking.

There are social service agencies that assist immigrants either for free or based on ability to pay.  If you are confused, find one to assist you or risk needless delays.

This is not a game.  The consequences can be extremely bad if you mess up.

If you don't understand any of this, then it would be wise to hire a lawyer rather than mess up your spouse's immigration.

Depends on what they listed. Obviously need all listed items.

Don't think you need actual "verified" letter from a bank. Supply I-134, pay stubs, W2's/tax returns, if you're using savings can submit bank statements showing balance.... Generally as far as I'm aware banking statements aren't even 'required' if you can show financial support through pay stubs and tax returns/W2's; but the more info sometimes the better.

Also knowing what country the beneficiary is from is helpful so others who dealt with that embassy specifically can give their insight and knowledge.

each country is different and each situation can be different , but it is always best to bring evidence to the interview that you might not need then not to have the evidence

I think each embassy is a little different and require different things be brought to the interview.  Here is what the US embassy in Greece told my fiance to bring.

    9. EVIDENCE OF RELATIONSHIP:  You may be asked to submit proof of a valid fiancé/fiancée relationship with your petitioner.  It is, therefore, useful to bring with you letters, photographs, or other evidence of your engagement.

We got our approval on November 29th 2017 for a k1 finance visa, I'm in the United States pregnant and waiting for him to come here. Just wanted to know what I should be expecting in the upcoming weeks and how to best prepare myself and help him through the process as well. I know that theres the ds-160 form and he has to go get a medical and all that stuff for his interview but what else should I be preparing for? I was also curious about when my letter from the NVC will arrive and what it will say on it, should I call the NVC before I receive the letter or after or will they only send it to me after I call? PLEASE AND THANK YOU FOR ANY HELP!!!

Based on your time-line you filed for a K-1 Visa and they received a letter which means they are legally representing you for which they charged you presumably a $4000 retainer.  While your case might have some complications the fact that you apparently received an RFE (request for Evidence) early in the process means that there may have been omissions or oversight that perhaps with due diligence on the part of the lawyer or yourself could have been avoided.  You replied to the RFE so you should dig out the agreement you should have signed with the lawyer and see what your options are for discontinuing your lawyers representation of you.  For sure you will not get all $4000 back but you should be able to get some of the $4000 back unless it was a fixed price type of contract.   Even so as a gesture of good will they should refund some of your money.  The fact that you received an RFE (depending on the details and how avoidable it might have been) might justify going to the state bar association if the lawyer decides that they don't want to offer you anything.
They are many many people on this site who are more than willing to contribute time and effort in helping you and the guides on how to do a K-1 present a step by step process..  However, looking at your profile it appears that you have had a few 'bumps' in the road already and already have experienced how good the people on this site can be.
The lawyer doesn't seem to be helping you and you've chosen to respond to the RFE on your own which means you should terminate your lawyer's representation of you if you are not going to trust your lawyer to handle the case and RFEs.

@Tasha Smith you can do this process yourself..Please do not give this lawyer $4000.00 dollars of your money unless a complicated case as one stated...Just get all your knowledge from this site and you will be fine...Have questions, just ask but save your money..

The USCIS website is not updated at all. It’s bern telling me the same status for months. It tells me that the post office returned returned my documents ( which was the receipt) I’ve had my receipt since May smh

After NOA2 you wait for the NVC to issue a case number for your petition. You can start calling the NVC about 2 weeks after your NOA2 date to see if they have generated a case number. Once you have the case number, you can track where the case is (at NVC, in transit, or at the embassy). Once the case arrives at your embassy or consulate, you can fill out the DS-160 form online and prepare to schedule the interview.

Tarika Smith reacted to inthomas in How Do I Speak to a live person at USCIS via telephone?
    Good day everyone,
For the last couple of weeks I have been calling USCIS helpline at 1 800 375 5283 to ask a question regarding my fiancee's K1 visa. I always call during their posted operating hours ( 8am to 6pm ), but I can never through to anyone. The information on the automated messages does not answer my questions.
My question is : does anyone know how to navigate through the helpline to guarantee to get through to a live person? What is the number succession one should push once they are at the main menu of the helpline? I have gotten through to people in the past, but now once I get to place where there previously was an option to talk to someone, the recorded voice just says to call back during normal operating hours (but I'm calliing during normal operating hours).
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks!
