Hey guys I just have a quick question, is the RFE usually sent when starting to process the petition or closer to the end?
From what I'm seeing and reading the NOA2 is usually sent shortly after they review the RFE documents you sent.
Basically they wait until they are done processing everything and then ask for RFE?
    Thanks.

That is correct. They will send the RFE close to the end when they do an initial review of documents after the background check and name check work is done. Lately an NOA2 is happening around 14 days after the RFE is received back at USCIS.

The first one was about the statement of intent. It was his signature under my name. Along with a notarized copy of that with my signature, we also sent them further evidence of wedding plans, more engagement.. (meeting the family) pictures and photos that we took on his recent trip to visit me. They received the evidence, Sept. 22. mailed the second RFE Sept. 26

There is a chance they resent the 1st RFE on accident due to the inquiry. Left hand and Right hand might not have known what the other is doing. No sense worrying until you get the letter. When you get it if it is for the same thing give them a call and talk to tier 2 or whomever and figure out what to do.

At day 161 here!  When I get a notification from the uscis app i get ecxited only to see it is a travel warning! 🤔pray every day all April filers and past ones get approvals! It would be nice if they could tell you exactly how many days it will be to get an approval or not.  Life is kinda on hold.  We are trying to get a visitors visa now but heard it's not easy from Morocco.

It isn't easy, 162 for us with the RFE having happened. I think Nepal is easier in that regard but very expensive and long flight so we are waiting until everything is approved.

    Hello,

My fiance in the US received our NOA2 this August of 2017. I filled out my DS-160 and set up an interview date which is on the 30th of October. I have also finished my medical exam. My concern is that I never received any letter or packet 3 from the embassy here in Nepal. Would that be a problem if I still don't have any letter sent by the embassy before my interview? I have followed all the instructions online for this process after receiving my case number and checking it 'online' on the embassy's website where it said that my case was ready.

I'm just concerned if they will ask for a packet 3 or any letter from the embassy on my interview.

Any feedback will be appreciated. Thank you.

Let me know what you find out. We are following you shortly I suspect, should have the NOA2 here in the next week or so. Unfortunately there really just isn't much data.

no worries I did my research tho :) . you did received your NOA1 on April right? did you received ur NOA2 yet?? because I received my NOA1on May and still waiting.

I got an RFE dated for the 11th, made it to my mailbox on the 15th. Hopeful that I will get the NOA2 around Friday. This has been the longest bout of torture. When we applied I didn't know about the processing slowdown this year and assumed she would be here by about now maybe early October. We really weren't prepared for this.

This time around individuals who were dual citizens and had Iranian citizenship had problems. I know there was a researcher that had a position at harvard or somewhere else that had issues.

I suspect the best bet for individuals with Iranian citizenship may end up being the longer/slower CR-1 process.

Ok I am really not reading correctly obviously. Total ban on immigrant status visa's means Iran is going to be difficult period. I really misread that apologies.

are you serious ?? Is that apply for ppl who lives in Iran or dual citizen too?:(

Thank you very much dear, I'm feeling good when I see other people trying to help us and advice us, this make me more happy 😊 because in this world sitill have nice and humane people.

My fiancée is from  Jax, Fl.

In that case the two possible contacts are I believe Congressman John Rutherford and Senator Bill Nelson. Generally better off with the most senior person you can get so I might suggest she contact Senator Nelson's office, mostly because Rutherford just took office this year. Nelson's staff will likely have better contacts and more clout.

    Hi guys

I am a K1 visa, alreafy married, already filed for AOS and my K1 visa expires shortly. Can I travel anywhere withing the US while I wait for the AOS?

Should I just show my passport with the K1 visa expired?

    thanks

You are safe to travel inside the US. Just don't leave the states until you get your AOS. Your best bet though may be to take your Social Security Card information and use that to get either a state issued ID or a drivers license if you don't already have it. Easier to explain than the passport.

Thanks! We found out we were approved by calling and speaking to a Tier 2. We have gotten text and email notifications for all steps (NOA1, rfe, rfe response) but not for this. Makes me nervous!!

For my RFE when I called it was flagged in the 1st and not mailed/updated until the 11th. However, VCP called on Friday and got an update on the website yesterday. So basically who on earth knows.

How do I put the browser on privacy mode?

It depends on the browser, typically in settings there is a privacy mode or a way to open a private tab to do that. I primarily use Firefox personally, there you go to the right side and open a new private window.

If you are using Internet Explorer you can go to settings, safety, and turn on inprivate browsing, ctrl shift p is the key shortcut.

Thank you so much for your response!

I am oddly and obsessively browsing through Google Flights to see how much flights are about 10 days from today...as an example of the price range we may be looking at..?

Not a bad idea, I would also suggest doing any flight looking with your browser in privacy mode. If it is blocking cookies at the time it will make it so they don't play with increasing pricing. Sometimes they move up rates if they see you looking a lot.

I know my Fiance always seems to use Cheapoair for her flight searches. It is how we found a reasonable price for her flight to Delhi from here back in February. It was only 10 days out and I want to say ~900-1000 which isn't bad for half way around the globe.

    Hey everyone,

    Interview date: October 13th.

Looks like it typically takes between 7-10 days for Visa to arrive via DHL if it is approved ;)

I was *ideally* hoping to make it home before November---so, do you all think it is possible if our Visa got to us on October 20th or something (ideally)- would we be able to find a plane ticket that would not cost like more than 600$ one way. I talked to someone who found a one-way flight for about $400 just a few days after Visa was in hand. Ahhh, what do you all think?

I was aiming for flights home for Fiance ~ 14 days after interview. You should probably be able to find a decent deal for a one way at the end of October. Might look around the 27th or 31st. Tuesday is cheaper at least inside the US for flights often.

She is citizen of USA with passport of 🇺🇸,not gren card,

beneficiary is from Kosovo 🇽🇰. Albanian 🇦🇱

Like @Charlesvb12 mentioned. It is probably past time for her to contact either her local US Congressman's office or Senator's office and see if they can initiate an inquiry on the case. That forces them to pull it and may get it assigned to a different officer or pulled up faster.

  15. Related question for interview stage for Fiance. I sent her the I-134, 3 years IRS documents, recent pay stub from work. My income alone is well above the poverty line. I did fill out the data on my life insurance policy and house as well. Does she need any documentation on the life insurance or house if my income is sufficient alone?

I didn't think to send the other papers mostly because of the income being more than sufficient.

Yes we submitted an inquiry, always same thing, on February 15 we accept your form....

and yes my fiancé call them and they say you have to wait.

    nothing just waiting.

Have your fiance call and talk to tier 2. They currently list processing March 1st NOA1 date. It means you are now outside normal times. Tier 2 can do a lot more for you.
