Sorry you are getting the RFE, I know it is a pain, from experience of course. We have now been approved and the NOA2 is coming today. Keep your chin up and it will come soon.
Thanks Keith. The frustrating part for me is that if I hadn't gotten to Tier 2 I would have been a mushroom still. At least this way I know they touched the paperwork which makes me feel better. We can deal with any paperwork issues easily enough.

What that means is that on 9/1 you are scheduled to get it, but it has not been done yet. It hopefully will be sent out by the 15th, at which time the tracker will update.
Do you have any idea what it could be? My suggestion would be to go over your packet to see if you can figure it out.
Lawyer did the packet, If I had to bet it is probably scans of her Passport pages. She had an F1 visa for Findlay University that was valid until 2020, but she graduated in December and got an OPT card, she had to go home before she got a job so she lost the OPT card. I am betting that issue is the meeting documents side.

Well just talked to Tier 2, we got an RFE on September 1st supposedly. I haven't received anything yet at all, the tracker has never updated for the case either. Going to try to find out what is going on as well as call my lawyer in a bit. I am wondering what on earth we could have possibly missed.

We had recently put in a request with the local congress office and they had submittted a enquiry on our case.
Not it sure if that helped speed things!
Also Matt was always told the Feb 1st line but this time when he called he said he wanted to check the status of a congressional enquiry on our case, apparently that got him through to the tier 2 pretty quick!
Thanks, I think I will probably call my US Senator's office on Monday and see if they can help it along at all. Day 144 since the received date at this point.
Best of luck with the rest of your process, hopefully you enjoy the holiday's here stateside. -

So Matthew called uscis today and WE WERE APPROVED TODAY! So relieved.
Good of luck to everyone still waiting.
Congratulations. Definitely getting jealous. I called today and they said still in process still processing February 1st etc etc.
I partially wonder if the cases get assigned based on country or something. It certainly seems like the European countries get through faster. If that is the case I am betting the Nepal papers are sitting with a group for India. -

Currently waiting on NOA2 on a K1 visa for my Fiance and was wondering if anyone had an idea about how long it takes to get an interview after the Embassy receives the paperwork?
Also for Kathmandu how do they handle Packet 3 and Packet 4 documents? Does my fiance just need to bring the items with her to the interview or are certain ones due ahead of time?Thank you for any info.

I tried calling again today, I am getting annoyed with the line that the current wait time updates monthly when it shows the processing times for California as of June 30th. If they update on the 15th of each month it should have had the July Information up on August 15th. Here we are on September and it is still showing June as the last update. Frustrating.

Got word back from my Senators office, they got the same reply from USCIS that I did. Still processing February 1st, inside normal process times, blah blah blah.
-
So I had been wondering why I hadn't heard anything from my Senator's office after I sent in the information to them. The guy who was handling the case out of the Cincinnati office had quit. So she got it reassigned to the Cleveland office lady and will have her call me later.
So at least I figured out why I hadn't gotten results. Just frustrating. -

How do I contact the local senator?
Hopefully! Thanks for the encouraging words!
You would want to probably get in touch with either Mark Warner or Tim Kaine's office. You talk with the office and they typically have a person who does immigration stuff.

Thanks for answer.
I thought I'm not suppose to take any actions until packet 3 arrives, am I wrong ?
You can start getting paperwork together for the packet 3, getting things lined up etc. I believe some of the others have more details. What I don't know is if you can get the medical scheduled faster with the number earlier.

Hey all,
Our case was approved on September 1st .
When should we call the NVC and get our case number? I would be happy if someone can explain to me why getting the case number on the phone is better than waiting for it to come in the mail. This means we can track our case at DOS earlier?
Call after 2 weeks, sometimes 3 before you get the NVC number though. The reasoning is if you have the number earlier you can track to know exactly when it is sent the embassy. It allows you to get in touch with them sooner and schedule things a bit faster. A lot of people in a rush at this point with the holiday's coming up after all.

Well, I got the RFE Package sent back into CSC this morning. Overnight USPS and Guaranteed delivery by 15:00, so here we go to the black hole again
let the waiting begin all over again, but I am hopeful that we will have the golden ticket soon. Anyone know what time pick up is at the post office? lol
Regardless of pickup time they really do seem to be 1 week to approval after the RFE.

Hey guys.. day 131 here
it's getting super hard now! My fiance and I are arguing too often... we are so frustrated at the moment and tired of waiting! Will tbis ever happen???
Average is around 140-150 currently I believe. Sitting at 141 myself and still no word. Case 2 after ours and 5 after both were approved already. Nothing that can be done but wait and keep your fingers crossed really.

Day 141 for the count on USCIS thing that tells me nothing. Saw updates for Philippines and China approved today nearby.

Hey everybody!
I just called USCIS for the first time, and I think they may have just changed the system? All I got was an automated message repeating when my received date and NOA1 dates are, and the only way I could talk to a person was to report a problem! Can anyone tell me if this is new/should I just press the button to "report a problem"?
Thanks!
The fast way is hit 1,2,2,2. That is after the language preference by the way. It is the I don't know my number button set. Gets a tier 1 on the phone right quick.

Ok up to 137 days since NOA1 recieved date. Now even the VJ estimator is trolling me.
Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between August 26, 2017 and August 31, 2017*.I will have to see if I can talk to a tier 2 rep today. Leaving on a long business trip and my mail will be stopped for 2 weeks. Really had expected to get the letter well before I left.

Hi there everyone! Long time lurker, first time caller. I'm Kait... my fiancé Shane (from Ireland) and I also filed our i-29F in March. My case was received 3/16 and my date of notice was 3/21 at the CSC....... And that's the last time I heard any helpful update at all.
I called USCIS about 5 minutes ago and they told me they were working on cases received on or before February 1st, so I'm still "well within the acceptable window."
Judging by the amount of people in this forum who've received their NOA2s and beyond (congrats!), I'm thinking that's less than accurate.
Any advice for further steps to take? Is this all a bad sign? I've got a million self-doubts, and it's just so tough waiting when you can't do anything!
When you call play dumb like you can't find your number and get up to a Tier 2 agent. The Tier 1 people can only tell you the February 1st thing. Tier 2 can tell you if it has been assigned to anyone and more information like that.

Sorry, but my fiance told me it is my number for all future...
"....
If your case (Petition I-129F) is approved, the following I-797 - Notice of Approval, more commonly known as NOA-2, is sent to the groom's address. It is important to remember to take care of this form! Ask the groom to scan and send you to save it at least in electronic form and under your personal control, because this is one of the important documents necessary to change the status in the US (getting a green card).
In the note next to your name, the first time you see your personal A number (the number of alien ), which will be your number for the rest of life with immigration documents. This will also be your green card number.Attention for those with children: their children will receive a number much later, when their documents on the green card will be accepted. Until then, if necessary, fill out any forms with an A-number, children write N / A ("no answer"). ..... "
You would change from the A number to a true SSN at the point you become a naturalized US citizen. They are separate systems in a sort of way. Though I know my Fiance had an "alien" SSN number for work purposes only as a part of her OPT card after she graduated from her MBA program before she had to go home. The SSN# was for work authorization only though. What I don't know is when you switch from a work authorization only to full US citizen if you keep that same SSN or not.

Well up to day 134 with no information. I called end of last week and they just said it was still in process could be up to 2 more months and gave me the whole processing from February line.
I believe this entire process is entirely designed to test ones patience. I will admit my hopes have been higher for this week but starting to doubt anything will show up before I leave on my next business trip. April 17th for the date they show as received. You all keep teasing me with dates in close proximity. -

Me (beneficiary - UK) fiance (petitioner - California, USA) - NOA1 on April 15th. Called to check on NOA2 - they are currently only working on Feb 1st. Really disheartened. Any others dealing with CA center?
They are well past Feb 1st. They just by default keep telling everyone February 1st. Everyone waiting on a K1 is dealing with the CA Center. I would suspect that you all will get the NOA2 in the next week or so most likely. Could be delayed but there seems to be a lot of movement around that date right now.

Yeah I feel you on that. You're not the only one worried about being out when the mail comes. Saw a few others with that same concern. I wish there were more notifications tracking th progress of our cases so that we could plan better. I bet it would also help USCIS not need to answer so many calls, too!
Exactly, just a few more updates along the way would be nice. You get the first letter and then it all falls in a black hole. It is amazingly frustrating.
