    Saludos

My fiance and I are trying to find out what we need for police check in Mexico. She lives in Tamaulipas. are there any specifics for getting a police check for a k1 visa?

Hi guys I'm from tamaulipas too

I only got my birth certificate translated, because when I quickly checked the info on what I'll be needing for AOS I understood I wouldn't need the police clearance in my case... Don't remember exactly who might need that one, so maybe you want to double check the instructions (I think only certain countries need it).

This documents need to be "traducciones certificadas" notariazadas o no? apostilladas o no?

We're looking at POE either the first or second week of November.  Based on the reviews, we are leaning towards San Francisco as our POE.  It will give us a chance to see the city for a day or two as well.  We're currently looking at Las Vegas chapels either the end of November, or early December after she gets her SSN.

Why did you guys decided San Francisco at your POE? Could you tell us how it goes?

Im pretty sure that will be my POE since my fiance lives there!

Yep, green it is. It's not really a wedding dress, just a party dress, so dark green. I have a couple of pictures, but not showing yet :P

However, here's a picture of the photo shoot we had in Spain before leaving. We just got a preview so far, but looks like it's going to be a bunch of nice pictures to add to our memorabilia :)

Thank you! Happy too... although a bit jet lagged yet and had been crazy busy with unpacking and all that stuff, like getting me an American phone number :)

I don't really have a POE picture, since Gary was travelling with me, but here's what I have...

Jaime was so happy to be back at home, since he stayed on the animal hospital while Gary was in Spain :D

You take your paperwork and visa in and get the initial SSN issued on that using your original name since that is the name that will be in the system. That then allows you to go back and do a name change at the SS office to allow you to go get drivers licenses or state id and other papers in the new name (if you change) while waiting on AP/AOS stuff.

OMG! Thanks guys I was clueless about this process is there a form like the I-129f or a website I can read about with cheklist and everything?

Just got case complete today, about how long til and interview is scheduled for cuidad juarez?

What do you mean with case complete today?

You mean that you have received your NOA2? or that the NVC website says ready? Or that you have filled the DS 160?

Just giving you a heads up

I received my NOA2 for K1 September 7, case was ready at NVC September 24th, completed my DS160 September 26 and the first available interview was Nov16.

    So im still waiting.

Make your math, regularly next available spot for the interview takes more than a month.

I had the interview today: Approved

It was the simplest 'interview' i've ever had in my life. It was even more painless than the medical (excuse the pun) - and that was a breeze. I guess they really do just use the time and money to test out the 'strength' of these relationships. Seems pretty ridiculous.

For those in the UK, i'll write a full review on the UK portal tomorrow :)

    Congrats!!!

I hope with all my heart that my interview is just as simple as you describe yours!

    Fingers crossed!

Guys you are awesome !!! Please @Estibaliz and @Tatiana&D.S. if you can please help one more thing, 3 questions for same purpose

    1. Do we need to have the documents translated? One is from the country where the embassy is, and other from Germany

    2. Do we need to have the documents apostil stamped?

    3. Do we need to have them stamped at the notary public?

Thank you guys again, we just want to make sure everything is good, that there is no "please come back again with correct items"  answer at the interview. Thank you !

    Im not @Estibaliz niether @Tatiana&D.S.

But I will give my two cents.

This information is what I know for sure for Mexico Consulate it could change for your embassy

1.No need for the documentation to be translate when rthe documents is on the native language for the consulate or in english. I.E. Mexico would be ok with doicuemtns in spanish and english.

    2. No need for apostil in documents

3.No need for notary public stamp.

    Hope this helps

I only think you can log back in before the DS 160 is submitted, but since we submitted it we cant log in now

Well mine has already been submited and linked to my interview.

And Ive already  tried to retrieve it and it only let me print the confirmation page. Just that!

    So I guess its fine.

No more worries, just going with the flowB-)

Hi I think according your timeline you should have your NVC# by now... have you guys tried to call the NVC, if they received and it is ready they should be able to give you the NVC# and invoice ID (or something like that)

BTW: I had the feeling I read somewhere the DS160 is valid for 30 days but if you keep login the validity is extended

Oh wow! Logging in where? I did the DS160 the minute I knew my NVC was READY and my interview is until Nov 16th, so where or how I keep it valid?
