So this is how it went, Iza and the girls got into the embassy at 6:40 interview time was 7:10. Got to the first window and that when things went to hell.
When filling out the ds160’s for the the girls she accidently selected k1 instead of k2 for them. So they said go across the street redo them and come back. Here’s a tip, if you need something reprinted dont go across the street from embassy. 2k pesos later, that 20$ each to print, she was back in the embassy. 30 minutes later she was out and MY BABY AND LITTLE ONES ARE COMING HOME!!!!!!!
more details later on what she was asked in interview. They were rushing back to pack and checkout of hotel. THANK GOD ITS OVER.
So Iza said that at the fisrt window they only asked her my name and how long we have been together and sent her to a second window. Maybe this was cause of the whole paperwork mishap and they wanted to keep on schedule, who knows. She didnt really say anything about the second window she went to. But then she was called into the interview with the American CO. They asked her what my ex wifes name. when i was divorced. how many times we met in person (5). Iza said she seemed impressed by that and told her that her last interview only met once. She asked if she knows my kids, she said yes she has met them personally in ph and talks to them every night. She asked the little ones there names and if they miss their brother and sister. Then She looked through our photo album and was smiling and joking with Iza during that time. Then told her congradutations your approved.
She didnt look through any other of her paperwork. Now time to plan their trip home!

I hear that they will start requiring 5 years of social media but I don't believe that has gone into effect yet. That will be true for all visa petitions.
Cool, I figured if it was already, there would have been something to fill out with all that info.
just want to be prepared. After 2 cancelled trips for medical because our little ones had fevers, today is our day. Interview is at 4:10pm my time.

Anyone hear that in philippines they asking for them to turn over their social media?

But when do they send it? I was surprised to get a number assigned the same day it arrived there.
Mine was sent within like 2 days and it was like 5-6 days from the day i got my number that it was received at embassy

I will do the DS-160 (or three of them) tonight. I send money for Rose to pay the visa fee and sent her the receipts to use. How many passport photos do they really need?
How long after receiving the MNL# before it heads to the Embassy?
Mine took about 5-6 days to get to the embassy. Want some more good news, it not a month to 2 months wait for interview, right now its like 2-3 weeks. I have a friend that called monday to get their interview scheduled, an it is scheduled for april 3rd.
And thats even with 2 days closed for holiday next week!

Hey excellent information. But I have a query, someone plz help me out. When I enter the number given to my fiance on phone by NVC; on ceac link using NIV as visa status it shows invalid... When I put it in Immigrant IV it shows 'at NVC'. K1 is NIV ryt? Can anyone pl help me out stating where I am wrong?
Nothing wrong, immigrant visa to search your nvc number. So if it shows at nvc, it still at visa center and hasn't been sent to conulate yet.

With the kids it could be Thursday-Friday-Monday. Plan three days for the kids if under 14. It is possible to be done in 2 days, but all depends on what time their TB test is administered
Will do thanks. Ya they are 5 and 8

Yes. Just understand it takes 2 -3 days for the results to get to the Embassy. So if you do the medical on Mon/Tue you should be good to go for a Friday interview
Cool thanks. Maybe ill have them go the thursday and friday before. We're just trying to make it so the kids miss as little school as possible.
-
So i called the embassy in PH last week just to make sure of what the fees were. They told me 265$. So today i checked and our case is marked received and it said fees were 240$. Has anyone else notice anything like this?
-
Can my fiance and kids do medical the same week as interview if interview is scheduled on a friday? They are traveling to manila and we are just trying to save on expenses if possible. Thanks

I thought I had read that, but the Lawyer said we needed to wait. I am going to ask for clarification and possibly a refund of my remaining retainer. Just awful. Thank you very much.
Lawyer is telling you wrong. for sure call NVC! I called Wed. Morning and it hadn't been received, called back Wed. night and it was received. Then called Fri. night and they gave me our new case number. So yes keep calling NVC.

Thanks!
So basically when do you think i should start filling out the DS160? Once my Case is in the embassy or in transit?
thanks again
No, once you have your number from NVC the DS160 can be filed, Visa fees can be paid and interview scheduled. I received my our number friday when i called NVC. I will call as soon as embassy opens today to pay fees, and my fiance will file DS160 first thing today then call to try to schedule her interview.
If you wait until it received at embassy, its just addeding a little extra time. So if you know your petition is on its way to NVC, start calling them. As soon as they have it entered in the system they will give you the case # and invoice #. And thats what you need to file DS160 and schedule interview.
Thats how a friend of mine did his wifes anyway. So im just going by how he did it since its the same embassy.

And really, a big THANK YOU to you,@vocaledge, @John & Rose for all you do and all the support with those days that are hard. I love my fiance to death, but its your guy post and support that have truly helped my get through the rough times and stay positive. I am forever greatful to you guys.
AND I STILL THINK WHEN ALL IS SAID AND DONE WE NEED TO PLAN A HUGE GET TOGETHER, MAYBE A WEEKEND CRUISE OR SOMETHING AND EVERYONE IS INVITED!
Would be so great to meet all the VJ family in person.

Yes a family member can help sponsor you. Below is some Guidelines for the I-134. The last paragraph would pertain to you.
All sponsors must submit the following documentation with their Form I-134, Affidavit of Support:
1. Proof of current employment or self employment. A letter from your employer on company
letterhead showing your income is good evidence. You must also include at a minimum your last
four pay stubs.
2. A photocopy or an Internal Revenue Service-issued transcript of your complete Federal income
tax return for your most recent tax year, or an explanation if it is not submitted. If you are self-
employed, you should have completed one of the following forms with your Federal income tax
return: Schedule C (Profit or Loss from Business), Schedule D (Capital Gains), Schedule E
(Supplemental Income or Loss) or Schedule F (Profit or Loss from Farming). You must include each
and every Form 1040 Schedule, if any, that you filed with your Federal tax return. If you don't have a copy of your tax return, you can order a transcript at no charge from the IRS
here: http://www.irs.gov/individuals/article/0,,id=110571,00.html3. Your W-2s and/or 1099 forms (photocopies only, not originals).
4. You may also, at your option, submit a photocopy or an Internal Revenue Service-issued
transcript of your complete Federal income tax returns for your second and third most recent tax
years if you believe these additional tax returns may help you establish the ability to maintain your
household income at the governing threshold set forth in Form I-864P, Poverty Guidelines. You can
see the Poverty Guidelines here: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-864p.pdf.
5. Occasionally a consulate will ask for your last 6-9 months bank statements, especially if you are
self employed. If possible, you should go ahead and include these bank statements just in case.
The Form I-134 must have your original signature. This means you must sign and mail to the
alien. They will not accept a scanned or faxed signature! If you are using the income of persons in your household or dependents to qualify as a sponsor,
you must also submit a separate Form I-864A, Contract Between Sponsor and Household Member,
plus all of the evidence listed above for each person whose income you will use.Are you sure this is right? I just filled out I134 and nowhere in the instruction does it say it needs copy of tax papers or w2’s. Only states employment letter and bank letter. Tax papers are only if your self employed i believe.
Please correct me if im wrong, cause now im freaking out that im missing something.

30 to 45 days for USCIS to send it to NVC. 2 to 3 weeks at NVC and then maybe another week to get to the Embassy. Hopefully USCIS starts sending things quicker. That is the long part of the wait.
Congratulations!
NVC is moving faster my friend, less than week after received. Hope they keep this up.

Ok. Thank you
Ok Thanks much, how will I know that they have received it or that the USCIS has sent it over?? Also, John I really hope you hear something soon. You are so nice and calming and optimistic.
You wont know they received it until you call nvc and they actually say they have received it. Wait 2-3 weeks after approval then start calling NVC every other day. And NVC takes calls late (until midnight on the east coast). It was like 9pm east coast time when i call and got my info.
