As long as the marriage is legal in the jurisdiction in which it takes place, USCIS will accept it. The only caveat is if the marriage certificate is in a language other than English, you have to have it translated. (Not applicable obviously if you get married here in the US or in Australia )

If you don't have to plan on family being there. Pick the easiest and fastest place to get married. There's enough time spent waiting in this process. So skip some wait time when you can. 

Oh my Godddddd I cant believe it what just happened. You know I was at my sis house all day helping her setting the new house,  was feeling really tired and down. Just came back and  checked visa journey and saw your msg and after replying to your msg i thought lets check the case status thinking that it would be the same stucked on "received case" but guess what it has changed to your new card has been produced wohooooo and i was likee Goddd i jist prayed and it got accepted just like magic. Believing in God is magic and that I've just experienced. I'm so haaappppyyyyy. I want to thank you too for your motivation and now I'm praying for you too may God help you so that you can get your cards asap.

Ok, Things went pretty quick for me/husband 
9/17: received update that card was approved 
9/18: received update that card was mailed 
9/19: received update with tracking number and that it was now with the PO

Thanks! I received a second email that the post office picked up the envelope and it had the tracking number.

Y'all have to keep in mind that this is like the K-1 process
Applications are TYPICALLY processed in the order received but one person isn't doing this job at USCIS--
There are many people carrying boxes of applications. One person might be faster than another, plus not every case is the same. How long it takes to look at ur case is not how long it will take to look at someone else's. And they are NOT going to wait to finish looking at yours before looking at someone else.
If something comes up in ur background whilst they review, they track it down, and in the meantime, continues on with others.

So- they are definitely looking at May applications.
Which means y'all are hopefully going to be hearing within the month. If not by end of next month, then I think that makes u outside of normal processing and u can inquire about that

It’s normal to be anxious throughout this process especially with the predicament you’re currently in but don’t despair you’ll be just fine. Now with regards to evidence, USCIS doesn’t care about the reasons that broke the marriage. What they DO care about is if you can prove that the marriage was entered in good faith at the inception (bona fide), and not just a means of circumventing immigration law to procure a green card. The evidence they’ll like to see are documentary evidence with your spouse showing joint financial liabilities such as lease/mortgage, tax returns, bank/credit card statements, utilities such as water, sewage, garbage, insurance policies etc.   You can equally send secondary evidence as well for support such as affidavits from friends and relatives who knew your marriage, the rehab stuff etc.

Agree, things have changed ALOT! But with immigration processes, I feel like they are constantly changing..... I guess its the nature of the beast

Just received an update from the USCIS case tracker that my Interview was scheduled.😂
 

Things are moving along for May filers!!!  Received approval for EAD and AP on 9/14.
 
Can wait to receive update saying "CARD IN PRODUCTION"
